KH13.com

KH13.com started out as a simple project between friends. In around August 2008, DChiuch and Aaron decided to create a website. Planning to build off the popularity of DChiuch's YouTube account, the website was going to be a place where Kingdom Hearts fans could download high quality cutscenes. At this stage, the project was called "DChiuch.net". On October 9, 2008, the website staff had decided that the project was ready to be released to the public. The "KH13.com" domain was bought, and the website was linked to from all of DChiuch's videos.

This page will serve as a timeline for the important events in KH13.com's history. All traffic details are from the very reliable Google Analytics service. For a list of current staff teams and staff members, please take a look at the Staff Members page.

July 2008 - (no traffic)

• DChiuch buys a Japanese copy of Kingdom Hearts, and begins recording the game with the intention of putting it on YouTube.
• DChiuch comes up with the idea of starting a Kingdom Hearts website to share his cutscenes.
• On the last day of July, DChiuch approached Aaron about the idea of creating a website.

August 2008 - (traffic unknown)

• DChiuch and Aaron start working on the website. At this stage, the website is called "DChiuch.net", and the free domain dchiuch.co.cc is registered. A free hosting account is created with Byethost.
• The first design is simple, with only 3 sections-- "Home", "Downloads" and "Forum".
• MyBB, a free forum software, is installed on the website.

September 2008 - (traffic unknown)

• The "Downloads" section, now known as the video archive, is worked on. DChiuch continues to record Kingdom Hearts in Japanese.
• The forum sees some activity from DChiuch and Aaron's friends from high school.

October 2008 - (traffic unknown)

• DChiuch and Aaron decide one day that the website is ready to be released to the public. The name "KH13.com" is decided on, and the domain name is registered.
• KH13.com begins reporting Kingdom Hearts news, starting with the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days trailer at DKΣ3713.
• KH13.com gets its first registered visitors that aren't personal friends of DChiuch or Aaron.
• The archive of Japanese cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories is added.

• KH13.com is the first to record and upload all cutscenes and boss battles from the English version of Re:Chain of Memories.
• It is decided that KH13.com should be redesigned from the ground up. Plans for this design begin.

January 2009 - (traffic unknown)

• The redesign of KH13.com is worked on throughout the month, and eventually, the redesign is released. This includes features such as a 3-column layout, and a consistent design throughout the whole site.

• KH13.com's hosting account was suspended for a day for using too much traffic. The hosting plan was upgraded to a paid plan.
• kairiwilson1 becomes a moderator, KH13.com's first additional staff member (and has since quit).

• Starting with the Nintendo 3DS Conference, and later continuing with other events, KH13.com livestreams the event on-site with a chatbox for members. This proves successful and very entertaining, allowing fans to watch the event together. Due to this, all future events are done with the same thing.
• A subtitled version of the Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance trailer from Tokyo Game Show 2011 is uploaded by KH13.com, eventually reaching over 300,000 views.
• The archive of English cutscenes from Kingdom Hearts is started. DChiuch and Aaron livestream themselves playing and recording the game, for a straight 17 hours.

October 2011 - (780,062 pageviews | 127,365 visits | 57,162 unique visitors)

• KH13.com receives its most ever people online at once, 2,306 according to IP.Board. According to Google Analytics, 21,830 visits are received in a single day, the most ever. This is because a thread in the "Real Life" forum, reporting on an incident in the news appeared on the first page for the Google search "amber cole video".
