Yen Press to localize "Kingdom Hearts: The Novel" in English for the first time

Yen Press, a United States-based localisation company for Japanese manga and novels, have revealed on their Kingdom Hearts page that they will be releasing Kingdom Hearts: The Novel sometime in March 2015. Kingdom Hearts: The Novel will be 300 pages long (at a size of 5-1/2″ x 8-1/4″), and will be available for US$16.00.

Update: Barnes & Noble have confirmed that it will be released on March 24, 2015.

The novel is listed with artist Shiro Amano and writer Tomoco Kanemaki, indicating that this novel is likely a translated compilation of the first two Japanese Kingdom Hearts novels, The First Door and Darkness Within. The following novel description was also published:

On the Destiny Islands, three children–Sora, Riku, and Kairi–are living out their peaceful, carefree lives while yearning for whatever lies beyond the great ocean. But one night, an unexpected disaster takes place, and the three are torn from each other and their island home. Meanwhile, at Disney Castle, Donald Duck and the other castle residents are in an uproar upon discovering King Mickey has suddenly gone missing. When fate brings them together, Sora, Donald, and Goofy set out on a grand Disney adventure to find their friends!

Neat, I am hoping for an e-book. If not then that's okay. Better be sold on Amazon as well, if it won't make it to Australia.

If you live in Sydney (or are within reasonable travelling distance), ask Kinokuniya to order it for you; they'll hold a copy in reserve for up to 2 weeks after release, and you can pick it up there. And you won't have to pay extra for shipping!

I lub this so much <3

Words cannot express my gratitude for Yen Press

Though my wallet will bleed, at least I know its for a good cause!

So when do the mangas get released?

if you mean kingdom hearts II vol 3 i read wont start till 2015 or close to it if i remember right on their web page.

anyways i guess right that they would do the novels if the manga did okay in sales :D

How many years ago did the novel come out and now where getting it?

The first Kingdom Hearts novel originally released on June 30, 2005 in Japan.

So, since it's releasing in 2015 in english, that makes a nice ten years

In other words, people on this site who are teens now, were little kids, and 20 etc year olds were teens(probably)

DAMN LONG

Must have been a juicy contract.

Yen Press is doing God's work

I'll pick it up at my local bookstore. I'll really just skim it mostly for the differences.

Nice, probably won't buy it though.

I wonder if they'll do this for all of the other novels released so far?
