Looks like Rikku correct, but it's more likely an early design for Yuffie. Could have used her as a base since Nomura was working on FFX's character design at the same time.

I had heard that Rikku was considered before Yuffie but was not used as to not cause confusion between Rikku and Riku.

Sora was going to to be a lion hybrid thing. Mickey Mouse was once considered as the main character.Kairi was said to be created due to Disney pushing for a female lead. It was supposed to be just Sora and Riku. I think this is a myth though
