Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue still set for 2016 release in North America, Europe, and Japan accrding to Square Enix's Results Briefing Session for Fiscal Year 2016

Square Enix Holdings have released their Results Briefing Session for the Fiscal Year ended March 31 2016, in which they give us a reminder that the series' third HD remaster, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, is still being planned for release in 2016 in Japan, North America, and Europe.

We are steadily approaching an official release date announcement for the awaited game, which includes Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, the movie Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover, and the short playable episode Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A Fragmentary Passage-. Perhaps E3 may bring us the good news, as it did for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX two years ago.

I always knew it would come out this year. I never doubted. I assume it will be late this year for all countries like it was for HD2.5.

And of course, Australia is forgotten :(Anyway, looking forward to its release.

I know, but we usually get games at the same time as either america or europe....usually europe

sometimes later but I hope not

I'm just upset that it is still only for releasing on the PS4. Doesn't make sense to me if KH3 if multi-platform but 2.8 isn't.

They are only putting KH3 on Xbox because of money, they don't really care about the xbox otherwise and it's being made for the ps4 and then ported to xbox.

After that Disney Infinity bs, this is some really REALLY good news. I hope they do give us a release date at E3, I'm ready to start using my PS4 for what it's worth. X3 <3

Actually, it was placed on the Xbox One because it was a new console at the time of the game's announcement. It was unfortunate luck that Xbox One just so happen to be a terrible performing console.

Back to the topic, this is a genuine surprise. Maybe, just maybe, we may end up with a worldwide release for the first time for the Kingdom Hearts series?

You mean you haven't already used it for other great games such as Uncharted 4, Bloodborn, Batman Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, Infiamous: Second Son, The Witcher 3, and Ratchet & Clank Remake? Dude you don't know what you're missing lol :P

This is honestly the only video game that I'm hyped for this year that's coming out this year.

Probably because BBS 0.2 is using the unreal engine which is the same engine KH3 is using. The PS3 probably can't handle to run using that engine.

I know what I'm NOT missing, money. X)"

But seriously, it's been a busy semester and the little time off I do get I tend to spend replaying old Sonic titles for the anniversary, so I haven't given myself much room to play the few PS4 titles I do have. So far the only things I've played have been both parts of MGSV, I own the Uncharted Collection but I haven't started it yet. I currently have Uncharted 4 on hold for me, though I can't remember how much I've put down on the pre-order. In any case, I'm not picking it up until after my local convention is over, and that's not until Memorial Day weekend. :P

Im hoping this is the case too!

I mean I know with the mobile game we had to do some illegal shenanigans since they never officially released it here (at least not yet) but the actual console games im hoping its the same as before. <3 wouldnt be able to stand it if KH3 didnt have a world wide release thatd suck.

Yes! I honestly thought 2.8 Final Chapter was going to be release in Japan 2016 while US was going to get a 2017 release date. Thank God I was wrong, all the more reason to buy a PS4!!!

Aaaand the rest of the world doesn't exist. I hope this doesn't happen with KH3, we deserve a worldwide release.

I mean, I'll take your word for it, I guess. Still doesn't explain why they refused to put '2016' in the English trailers.

That trailer was over half a year ago, they may have not been sure at the time.
