KH13 Contest: Share your fan-art & win Kingdom Hearts: The Novel

Hey everyone! Hope you’re enjoying school/college/university/work/other and playing Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX on the lead up to Easter Holidays. With Kingdom Hearts: The Novel releasing in English for the first time on Tuesday (March 24th, 2015), we thought it would be the perfect time to run another competition!

This will be a fan-art competition with the chance of winning a copy of the (English) Kingdom Hearts: The Novel. The competition is simple and clean: create a fan-art based on an event/scene in the first Kingdom Hearts game (like an illustration you’d find with the possible chapters in the novel), and it must be created specifically for this competition. Read on for more details.

How to enter:

  1. Upload your fanart to KH13 (either to the Fan-made Images gallery, or by making a new topic somewhere), and then put a link to your fan-art in the comments below so that we can find it easily.
  2. Fan-art must be related to Kingdom Hearts, it must be an event/scene from the first game and must be created specifically for the competition. You can enter multiple times.
  3. At midnight EST on March 23rd, 2014, our team will deliberate and decide on our favourite fan-art submitted, contact the winner of the contest, and send them their copy! The contest is open to everyone as long as the novel can be shipped to their location via Amazon, etc.

Good luck to everyone! Even if you don't win, there is still a chance we will feature your fan-art on the KH13 Community Twitter and the KH13 Tumblr. Above all, have fun!

This is the scene in Hollow Bastion when Sora raises his keyblade up at the last minute to stop a possessed Riku from taking Kairi's heart. Such drama!

It's funny. You can comment on all the crazy details Tetsuya Nomura puts on his characters, but it's only until you try to draw them yourself that you can really appreciate them (or resent them). I'd actually been looking for an excuse to  draw these guys for a while and what better excuse than this contest. This whole picture took me about 6 hours to finish all together. I would've gladly taken another hour to color it, but for whatever reason, my tablet stopped working right after I'd finished the inking. It's a bummer,  but I still worked crazy hard on it. Fingers crossed!
