January 30, 201015 yr BIRTH BY SLEEP. SPOILERS!!!! You see. When Ventus was fighting Vanitas. He lost. Then Vanitas got close to him and then took over Ventus body. When Vanitas did that he unlocked another Keyblade. The Keyblade doesn't have a name, but it seem to be 2 Keybalde's crossing each other. That's why people call it the X-blade

(spoiler) The x blade is a keyblade that needs a combination of a heart of pure light and a heart of pure darkness in order to be created. When Vanitas fused with Ven, they created the x blade and Ven fought Vanitas, who had the x blade. On the outside, Vanitas faced Aqua. Hope this helped!

The X-Blade is the keyblade that will begin the Keyblade Wars once more; in order to create it, you need the fusion of a perfect light, and a perfect darkness, in this case, Ven and Vanitas. Literally, when the X-Blade is created, it is Ven and Vanitas, so when Ven defeats Vanitas, the X-blade is destroyed, while Aqua destroyed it as well from the outside. Again, the X-blade been Ven and Vanitas, when it was destroyed, it caused Ven to lose his heart. Hope that helped! =D

That's why people call it the X-blade actually there is sort of a connection with the "x" term in the name. i'm pretty sure i read somewhere on here that nomura said in an interview that "x" is greek for "key," so calling it the x - blade is like calling it a keyblade i guess
