To start out: (too lazy to retype this so...)

Why did a "0" apear for aqua's meeting of atw when that clearly takes place post kh2? The explanation that that scene took place within the game labeled kh0 doesn't work because kairi running up to sora was a scene that never was in kh1.

...and there you have it, 0.5 likely means a lot more than this game taking place after kh0, assuming it even carries that meaning at all.

"hmm, nope still means kh 0.5" some of you say; "...and your evidence is?.." I would say assuming that is what this theory is about, but it is not an there is a thread for that here:

Anyways, on to my theory, and I am starting with the key prases:

0: realm of darkness

0.5: realm of between

1: realm of light

Zero Point: Aqua's dark realm journey starts here; just by walking she comes across 0.5. which wouldn't be as close to 0

A fragmentary passage: An other word for 0.5 from the dark realm to the. These worlds are some of the closest things to a passage to the rol.

Birth by Sleep -volume two-: yup

So lets have a look at what these trivial scenes actually implied. All the clips in the secret video suggest the idea of a between. The first two clips have mickey in the rod then riku in the rol (Riku being the hero of dawn). Then we have all sorts of trivial scenes taking place in the realm of between. The sunset with xehanort and Sora at destiny islands relates to the between because, well ya know, sunsets at twilight. A parallel could also be established between the dark margin existing on the between and destiny islands.

In kh1 the ocean symbolizes the sea of outer space of which we all know the realm of light exists in.

BUT, look closer why then would a sunset closer to darkness and closer to day be important? Of all the between worlds we have been to, they all have had a much closer relationship to the realm of light. Also as stated in the ultimania the between worlds can be closer to the rod or rol; the wtnw is closer to the dark realm and sora almost always refers to that between world as the rod. Because of this, without the use of dark corridors or other such means of transport and, while traversing through the rod one should be able to come across between worlds that are very close to the rod and yet not quite there.

In short:

Just as there are between worlds that can be accessed by means of "the lanes between [worlds (not realms )]", there should be between worlds that can be accessed by the means of traversing the dark realm in its own unique way, walking, where as in the realm of light it would be gummi ships due to the nature of multiple worlds making up the realm of light.

I think the 0 is reflecting their position in the realms with 1 being rol, 0 being rod, and 0.5 (from what we've scene) being an between realm that exists closer to the rod. It has already been shown that a between world such as the wtnw is closer to the darkness than yen sid's tower . Also notice how all of the scenes took place within the realm of between with the exception of destiny islands (and that still suggest between with a sunset; there is also a lighter and a darker sunset)

all of that makes so much sence i don't know where to start so i say nothing -speechless- because i agree, because i took the time to read it at 3:30 in the morning lol, but, yeah, good job. . . . lets see if it's true shall we? (waits a buncha' months) and still waiting . . . .

A good theory, but I disagree. For all representational purposes, shouldn't 0 be the realm of inbetween? I mean, 0 is the boundary between the positive and negative. Wouldn't it make sense to have the realm that acts as a boundary serve the same purpose with it's numerical representation. Also 0 is absolutly nothing just like the realm of inbetween. With this logic the realm of light would be 1 and the realm of darkness would be -1. If this were true, 0.5 would be some sort of pocket realm inbetween realms of light and nothing. Or it could refer to the worlds like Castle Oblivion/Land of Departure and Twilight Town that sit on the edge of the realm of light, close to nothingness. I think the pocket realm theory is a better theory because it explains the use of "fragmentary passage". What I mean by this is that maybe both the 0.5 and the -0.5 realm have some sort of connection. This connection could be how the casle of dreams ends up in the realm of darkness. If the castle of dreams and the other worlds somehow ended up in the 0.5 realm and were somehow brought through to the -0.5 realm from this passage, the worlds could transition from there to the realm of darkness. This is only my theory, we'll have 2 wait for BBSV2 for the actual answer.

Normally I would have thought that same thing about how zero should represent nothing, but Ansem's title, "darkness in zero," makes me think otherwise because he was in the same place when he claimed he was in zero as where the "0" apears (actually don't think too hard about that last part because there seems to be some degree of inconsistency). But anyway, I am pretty much happy as long as the numbers aren't referring to the games.

The pocket realm theory kind of reminds me of a theory I had a while back (http://kh13.com/forum/topic/9098-the-realm-between/page__p__214216__fromsearch__1?do=findComment&comment=214216). To sum it up, it explains where the cross roads in the prologue of kh1 lead to, but it also contributes to the idea that one can merely walk into a different realm without the use of any dark corridors or things of that nature. Besides this, having Aqua walk up to the dark margin, confirms that the world of the dark realm is not strictly speaking, the dark realm because that area is the boundary between the realm of darkness and the between.

What Ansem the wise meant by Darkness in Zero was that his apprentices had taken everything away from him so he believed he had nothing. He soon turned to darkness and wanted to get revenge on his aprentices for what they did to him. Ansem didn't mean what realm he was in, what he ment was his current state of what he thought he was and what he wanted.

I agree with part of your theory. But its very good and it makes a lot of sense.

Secret Ansem's Report 4Edit Secret Ansem's Report 4

The distant days spent in that beautiful paradise are an illusion to me now.

How long have I been here, banished to the realm of nothingness?

It is only by relying upon my anger and hatred that I have been able to retain my sense of self here where all existence is nullified.

My heart is being overcome with hatred toward my apprentices, possessed by the darkness, and with the anger I feel for stupidly allowing myself to be betrayed.

Is this darkness, eating away at my heart?

I cannot continue to idle away my time here.

What are Xehanort and the others attempting to do?

I must unravel the mystery of these Ansem's Reports, intercept my apprentices, and defeat them.

That is my mission...the only way to repay the world for my sins.

Those beings who lack hearts—the Heartless—must be the key.

The darkness of the heart, made flesh. Cursed shadows who not only lack hearts, but multiply by seizing hearts from any and all living things.

Where have they come from, and where are they going?

Three elements combine to create a life: a heart, a soul, and a body.

But what of the soul and body left behind when the heart is lost?

When the soul leaves the body, its vessel, life gives way to death, but what about when the heart leaves?

A being does not perish when its heart leaves its body. The heart alone disappears into the darkness.

There is little time.

If I remain in this realm much longer, I will certainly learn these answers the hard way.

My heart is already a captive of the darkness.

So it seems that there is a beach serving as a boundry for between and darkness, and nothing and darkness, with ansem having gone to the boundry on the side of nothing.

It's very possible. Although, considering how little DiZ knew about the realm of nothing, DiZ could have simply mistaken the realm of darkness for the realm of nothing. DiZ didn't really mention crossing into over into any new area's in the reports. But there is a possibility that he did and just didn't write it down for whatever reason.

I don't get the sense that one will experience something such as where all of existence is nullified in the realm of darkness. I could easily see that he is confusing the two beaches.

New (off the top of my head) analysis of secret ending: The number 1 and 0 appear preceding (or following?) a scene on the beach where other parallels are made such as kairi and aqua aproaching some one on the beach. The light out in the ocean of the dark realm also should parallel the meaning of a light in destiny islands. When Sora dissapears, so does the sun infront of him, leaving merely a sunset. I have no idea where this is going but it might mean something.

On the topic of the sunset, I think we have to ask ourselfs where the sun in the KH universe comes from. The stars are all of the different worlds. The moons of the different worlds could possibly be some sort of space rock debree. I really don't know on the moons. But what would that make the sun? All worlds have day and night from what we've seen. Do the worlds circle around the sun like in our solar system? If they do then the sun could have more importance than we thought.

Going back to the reports, I think I might have found a plot hole that explains this whole thing. During the secret ending in BBS, Ansem tells Aqua that he lost his memory both times he went to the realm of darkness. Yet, in the reports Ansem seems to remember everything including his apprentices and Radient Garden. Also, did Ansem have some paper and pen around with him at the time? He had to wright the reports down somehow. If he did, he could have read the reports when he was in the realm of darkness the second time and have that to make up for his lost memory. I personally don't think Ansem would have given away the reports to anybody. There are a couple of ways to explain this.

1.Ansem just lied to Aqua in the secret ending in BBS. (I find this very doubtfull.)

2.We have a KH1 Ansem reports situation where someone else wrote the actual reports. (Again, doubtfull. I don't think they would use the same plot device twice like that.)

3.(A theory I thought of while writing this) We have what I like to call the reverse Jiminy Journal situation. If Ansem somehow managed to get memories of his to apear in the reports withought wrighting them, it could acount for this suppossed gap in the reports. Say Ansem didn't know how to do this until he traveled to the realm of nothing and figured out how. The reports would pick up with him in the realm of nothing. Ansem was driven by something, but it was something he could not remember. When he got out and did remember the pages in the reports filled out explaining what happened to Ansem after he fell to darkeness and what drove him to get out.

This is only a theory, and hopefully this strange time gap could be exploited in BBSv2. After all in that time Ansem could have come across King Mickey somehow.

I believe the suns and moons are physical aspects of the world, in addition to being representational of "some-thing." Take Destiny Island's for an example of it just being an aspect of that world, it's world map representation has a sun revolving around it. And so it seems unlikely that our real world physical aspects of cellestriall objects could be applied to kh. As far as the symbolism of the sun and the moon, their both bright, and thus represent the light.

That is a very good theory and is definitely something that should be dealt with in volume 2. By the way, do things like this concern you with how bbsv2 will have to fix so many inconsistencies, because their is so much that could go wrong leaving so little space to speculate.

Perhaps with the sun and moons it's almost a ying-yang type relationship. What I mean is that when the sun is out the light of all the stars fades away, and the sun creates shadows from those who stand in it. In the night the sun is gone and you see the light of the moons and stars surrounded by the darkness of empty space. The two could just be there to complete each other.

I am slightly concerned with what they would do with BBSv2. There seems to be a lot of time gaps hinted to be explaned in it. BBSv2 may not fix all of the inconsistencies. When you have inconsistencies, you can create games to explain those incosistencies. That's just Square trying to make money off a franchise.

There does come a point where it becomes nearly impossible to explain all of the inconsistencies, and that is when the franchise might start to go downhill. I don't think this game would be BBSv2 though. I think this could happen after KH3.
