Wow, this is actually a pretty good theory. You've really thought things out and that's good. *Shrugs shoulders* It might be possible, I'm not sure, no one here can be sure, unless someone is secretly a part of the Kingdom Hearts team and this is already being planned,

I think you did an excellent job summing up the reasons but there are a few I would like to add. First in the opening video Vens station of awakening breaks due to kingdom key and soul eater crashing into it, symbolizing Ven and Vanitas although these are the weapons of Sora and Riku, and then two weapons (soul eater and kingdom key) along with an unconcious Ven fall as the results symbolizing what is to come. Two Vanitas' sentiment has connections to the mysterious figure. I feel it is safe to assume Vanitas' return. Maybe the next saga will even be Vanitas' saga acting on his own free will?

I never really thought much about that. But I see your point. Ven's station of awakening represents Ven's heart which Vanitas is part of. Then it shows both the Kingdom Key and Soul Eater strike it symbolising a connection.

I don't see how he has to be connected to him. I mean, they might be connected but then again they might not since there is so little known about him except what is shown during the battle and all the journal says after beating him is: "A mysterious figure whose origins, identity, and purpose? are unclear." You can't really say for sure that they have anything to do with each other with MF just showed up to fight TAV and Vanitas Sentiment is (journal quote): "A physical manifestation of what remained of Vanitas's powerful thoughts and feelings."

tutti-frutti. I am mostly leaning towards Vanitas returning through Sora due to the events in BBS. One of my theories is that something or someone, if not MX, may actually trigger Sora giving into the darkness in some way, thus bringing back Vanitas. As for the postures that both Vanitas and Riku have, this maybe due to the fact of how MX teaches his pupils on fighting with the keyblade since he fights with a similar posture himself. Terranort could have recovered his memories at any given point, even though it hasn't really been stated when he recovered his memories. Though I'm looking forward on how square plans on bringing back Vanitas should they choose to do so, though I'm pretty sure they will.

Mysterious Figure is related to time. See the connection?

Ok a lot people want Vanitas to return but I've been thinking how he can and I think maybe its possible through 2 people, Sora or Riku, but I think it would more likely be Riku but I will explain both.

First Sora. If I am correct, after Vanitas was defeated and the X-blade destroyed he went back into being a part or Ven's heart, which went into Sora. I think because of this in a future game there might be signs of Vanitas being inside of Sora or of him returning through Sora.

Now Riku, there are a lot of similarites between Vanitas and Riku being Riku's dark suit looking simlar to Vanitas', in the openings they both hold out there hand, the way they hold their Keyblade, posture, and at the end at Aqua's story Vanitas says one of Riku's lines, "What's wrong? Giving up already?"

Knowing all this in BBS when Terra encountered Riku he said he sensed light within him. But in KH1 he had so much darkness in his heart that Ansem SoD could manipulate him and take control of his body, just like MX did to Terra. Back to BBS, after Terra and Aqua had already visted the islands, Ven arrives and who was already there? Vanitas. He couldn't have known Ven would have shown up at that exact place so what was he doing there? In the Blank Points secret ending when Terra was refusing to be controled, Xehanort said this: "You are just one of many roads that I might choose to take. Trust me. I made certain of that."

I think maybe Xehanort had Vanitas somehow implant some of his darkness into Riku's heart so if something happened and he couldn't use Terra's body anymore he had a new body as a back up plan. And assuming if when the Kingdom Hearts decoder that AtW created exploded and the rest of Ansem SoD was removed from Riku's heart that Vanitas' stayed I believe that it would make it possible for him to return.

 

I believe it is a lot more likely for him to return, if possible, through Riku but it may also be possible through Sora. But anyway, what do all you think?
