Some computer help or something to play an older game

30 May 2018 - 01:22 PM

So here’s my problem. After playing the Sims 4 for a while, I really want to play the Sims 2 again. The Sims 3 and Sims 4 are good games, but there’s just some stuff the Sims 2 has that they don’t. So that gives me a few options.

1) I could play it on the computer I already have it on. Problem is, this computer takes 5 hours just to boot up, and even if I get all of the custom content off of there, the game is still going to lag - a lot. Not the best idea.

2) I can see if I can get the Sims 2 Ultimite Collection. It was available for free for a week a few years ago and aperently I can still claim a copy. To do that I have to contact support people and that seems like a lot of hoops to jump through just to play a game.

3) I can try to run it on one of the newer computers in the house. I would have to do this in compatibility mode and this has mixed results. Some people say it works just fine, others say it won’t work at all. Some say it worked until they installed expansion packs and others had the opposite problem. Basically I really don’t want to waste my time trying to install something that might not work. Not the best option.

I’ve decided that the best thing to do is to just get a computer that runs Windows X P (and it has to be X P. I tried Vista once and it didn’t work out). I have a netbook with X P on it, but it has no disc drive. I’ve done some reascerch and these computers still exist. I even asked my dad about it, but he was no help at all. I could just build my own computer too.

So I’m looking for advice. Do any of you who are skilled in this kind of thing have any suggestions?

If you could go back...

27 May 2018 - 06:06 PM

Have you ever found yourself wanting to go back to a certain point? Lately I’ve kinda been wishing I could relive the last seven years of my life. I mean right now I’m pretty much going nowhere. I’ve got very few friends and they’re all across the country, and I can’t really go out and make new ones as I don’t have transportation. I don’t really know how to make new ones now that I’m out of school. There’s a guy I would like a second chance with. He was the closest thing I’ve ever had to a boyfriend. I might have had some feelings for him, I don’t really know because my friend started having problems with her boyfriend (don’t ask) and I kinda let the whole thing slide. Naturally she’s not my friend anymore. FML. I kinda would like to live through the fall of 2012 again. Yeah, I had severe problems with OCD, but I was happy. I had friends. I had something to look forward to everyday. Now each day just blurs into the next one. All I pretty much do is sit at home. And I’d kinda like to get things right this time, you know. Get all the stuff I missed. All the stuff I should have gotten but didn’t. I guess there’s no point in even thinking about this, but I’ve got nothing better to do. I’ve always thought that the answeres would come in time. That there would be an opportunity waiting for me when I’m ready. But it’s been three years and all I’ve done since I’ve left school is go backwards. I don’t know. Has anyone else felt like that?

I can’t believe no one’s done this yet. Happy birthday to our amazing staff manager Flaming Lea/Harlea Quin! Hope you have a fantastic day!

Can you believe this?

Yesterday we found out that my local Sam’s Club is closing. Turns out they closed yesterday. Apparently many people found out they had found out that they’re losing their jobs by showing up to work to a closed store. Who thought this was a good idea? What about the people who had medicine there? Or photos (I sersiouly want to show up to a club and say that I have photos at a closed location just to mess with them). This kinda affects me to. There’s no hope that I can compete with all those people for jobs when I have practally no experience. This world is messed up.

1826 days since I joined this site. There have been good times and bad times, low times and high times, but thanks for being here with me through it all.
