Chapter 4.3 - A new goal
Keyla was quickly taken to the small hospital that there was in that village. It was such a small place, but thankfully, in that day there were only two people besides her, being treated.
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH Ittt hurtsssssssssssssssss AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW HELP ME HELP ME HELP ME MEMEMEMEMEMEME!” Keyla screamed.
“Calm down. I’m the doctor around here. My name’s Laye, and I really don’t like when people start screaming in my hospital. Let me take a look at your wounds.” the doctor said.
“I found her in the entrance of the village -- she appears to be seriously injured. She said she’s been attacked by wild beasts. Is she going to be alright?” the man asked.
“Wild beasts? Only if they were really bad cats. It’s not that bad. She’s going to be fine pretty soon. It’s not life-threatening or something. She only needs to rest, and then she’ll be just fine.” the doctor replied.
“You... sure.... doctor? It’s hurting sooooooooooooooooo much....” Keyla said.
“Yeah, no doubt. Do not worry, lady. There’s nothing truly bad here. What’s your name, ma’am?” the doctor asked.
“My name? I---I---I ca--can’t remember.... Has something happened in my head? Where am I? I just remember being attacked by a bunch of strange animals, and then I woke up, and managed to walk until I arrived in this village...” Keyla lied.
“Really? Then it’d be better if we do some exams later. But for now, you simply need to relax. It’s already later, so I’ll leave it for tomorrow.” the doctor replied.
“Hope you get better.” the man said.
“Thanks. And yes, we’ll leave it for tomorrow.” Keyla replied.
Later, around midnight, when no one was left in the hospital to take care of the people there, because most of them were simply sleeping, Keyla left her bed and decided to have a walk in this ‘village’.
“It’s not as small as I thought.... Very interesting. I might stay here for a while -- there may be things which I need to see.. or hear.” Keyla thought.
As she walked in a small street, she heard a woman talking to a man. She was really happy when she understood what they were talking about.
“Is it true?” the man asked.
“Yes, the leader of the village confirmed it.” the woman replied.
“But how did they discover that?” he asked.
“Apparently, there’s a place -- very far away -- where there were powders, each with different colors, and so, they think that each of them represent different powers or magic. But there is still much to be studied about it yet. We can’t have conclusions based on conjecture. But if it is true... then anyone could have powers. I just hope I get a small amount of it..” she said.
“Don’t forget me. I’m truly interested in finding out what this ‘magical powder’ is. So far, it’s a big mystery... but we’re humans. We’ll find it out soon, I believe.” he replied.
“I hope you’re right. Otherwise, the life in this place would be completely boring.... Let’s head to the leader’s house. It’s that mansion there, you see it?” she said.
“Oh yes. What a beautiful house, indeed. I want to be really close to the leader, you know.” he replied.
“Everyone wants.... Hahahahahah! Let’s go.” she said.
Keyla stood hearing and saw where the leader’s house was. It was truly a big house, and it might be truly greater from the inside. For now, however, she had to return to the hospital.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA! If these two fools think they got what it takes to have the ‘magical powder’, they are completely wrong! It’s gonna be mine! I’ll kill anyone that stands in my way. I swear!!!! It shall be mine. I need it. With it, I can destroy everything, and kill thousands of fools hahahahahahahahahahahahahah! Just wait. It’ll be a splendid show. And I’m the protagonist, of course! Don't worry, your meaningless life won't be boring. You'll be burned alongside this village as soon as I put my hands in the magical powder.” Keyla thought to herself.
