I'm fairly certain I could get Always to come back, but we would need to have a plan of action and an endgame.  The end will need to be in sight for Always to come back, though I'm pretty darn sure she would want to see it through to there.

Just so everyone knows, Corey Burton isn't going to be running from any fights.  I miss the good ole days in Final Fantasy Incarcerated when James would show up and all of the heroes would freak out.  I feel like that hasn't been happening lately, and that the heroes have had a heavy advantage for quite a while.  My hope is that Chernabog will change that.  Even though he is a villain, he obviously won't discriminate between good guys and bad guys.  He'll just kill basically whoever.

Alex woke up from all the noise and got up from bed to see Felix fighting Scott. 'Leave him alone! ' Roxas said in an angry tone through Alex. 'this is not good, not good at all. Felix, are you okay?' Alex asked. He summons his keyblade, pointing at Scott.

(OOC:  This isn't a huge deal, FFxChainlessSoulxKH, but Scott and Felix are about four blocks from where Alex fell asleep.  I'm sure that if you edited that last post you could fix everything quite easily.  If not then the rest of us can just sort of go with Alex being there.)

Troy wandered around the property as the rest of them went inside.  An empty home where parents were supposed to be?  He guessed that he was a bit more used to that than the others were.  His parents had almost never been home, always off on work doing something or another.  Even still, he didn't feel quite right about walking in on such a personal place, especially since he didn't know Joy that well.

Zalia stayed in a nice, fancy hotel for the night with the money she'd taken from that rich guy earlier, and smiled as she went to sleep.  She'd been keeping track of a rather unusual figure lately, someone Barbosa had said would be important, and tomorrow she planned on putting her plans into action.  Yep, it would be a good day.

Corey Burton wasn't your average 20-something year old, even before he became inhabited.  The bright red hair and heavy smoking habit set him apart, sure, but it was his mind that really got him places.  Brilliant, even as a child, Corey could solve any problem, stumping even the brightest of scholars.  He was the life of every party.  All of the girls wanted to date him and all of the guys wanted to be him.  He despised them all.  Weak, pathetic little puppets, mere playthings, easily conforming to his whims as long as he did the right things at the right times and with the right people.  Free will?  That was just a funny joke.  He was like a puppet master, pulling everyone's strings.  Over time, though, like a child growing tired of his old play things, Corey began to bore of life and other people in general.  That was when the news started broadcasting stories of these select few individuals who had been granted god-like powers and whose actions seemed to defy the natural logic of how people work.  The normal human was weak, but they were strong.  By breaking the rules of this world and going beyond the norm, they had exceeded Corey's expectations and brought him out of his boredom.  Unfortunately, he knew that on the level he was at at the time, he would be unable to compete with these "super-humans" and therefore began studying everything he could about them, their abilities, their origins, and everything that had to do with the onset of their power.  He worked diligently, harder than he ever had before, until he'd found it.  The key to accessing the second wave of inhabitors.  Sure, the inhabitors themselves had some say as to who they decided to inhabit, but he knew exactly what to do to get the one he wanted, and to get that inhabitor to select him as well.  A mass murderer was all over the news in his hometown, but was never caught.  Corey Burton was a normal human no longer.  Now, he was Chernabog.

Ethan had left James to continue his training without him.  To be honest, Ethan's heart just wasn't in it any more.  Now that James was furious enough, it was time to just sit back and watch things unfold, Hades style.  So, without much ado, Ethan headed out to the local liquor store and grabbed a few beers before heading to the cemetery.  Being the Lord of the Dead and all, the place felt right at home.  This time, though, something felt off.  Ethan looked over to the side and noticed another man on the hillside cemetery.  The darkness of night cloaked a lot of his appearance, but the light of the moon illuminated his face.  While Ethan had been drinking with his back turned to the tombstones, sitting in the slight shadow cast by the one at his back, the other man sat directly facing the moon, sitting on the head of the tombstone a few down.  Ethan was a little surprised to see the smoking man, as normally he would have been able to detect the entrance of another soul onto the property.  He decided to just blame it on the booze.

"You're remarkably bad at this, you know," said the smoking man, his black and red apparel now visible to Ethan's adjusted eyes.  Despite speaking to Ethan, the figure's eyes never left the form of the moon.

"Oh yeah?" Ethan asked, smirking.  "And what would it be that I'm so bad at, exactly?"

"Caring," came the response, the figure taking his eyes off of the moon and resting them upon Ethan, revealing red eyes surrounded by darkness.  "You see, the last group of inhabitors and their hosts had that one very important trait in common.  They cared.  For one thing or another, it didn't matter.  Your apathy makes you a weak host."

Suddenly, a great power was unleashed, and Ethan's eyes opened wide in horror.  That the man had been a host to an inhabitor this powerful and Ethan hadn't noticed it was insane.  As the figure's hands on up to his elbows became clawed and black as the surrounding night, a matching pair of demonic wings stretched out from behind him, blotting out what there was of the faint light from the moon.  Ethan scrambled to his feet and summoned his scythe, calling upon more of Hades' power than ever before.  "Cerberus!" he called out, and a hellish gate opened up the earth behind him, allowing the great three headed beast to emerge and land before him, facing the figure head on.  Cerberus launched balls of flame towards the smoking man, and they all closed in at a rapid pace, meeting in the middle and leaving a massive explosion where the man had been.  When the smoke finally subsided, the form of two large black wings could be seen, separating to reveal an unharmed man.  Cerbrus leaped forward and it's left head lunged in to bite the demonic figure.  His right arm grabbed it with no effort, and his left arm did the same with Cerberus's opposing outer head.  The middle head reared back, flames building within it's mouth, and at the position he was in now, the smoking man could no longer protect himself with his wings.  Ethan, still recovering from the summoning of Cerberus, smirked with satisfaction.  The figure spat out his cigarette and emitted an intense gout of flame, incinerating the dog's flesh before using his hold on the other heads to toss the mutt aside.  He summoned a series of ghost to plague the beast before the figure stepped forward towards Ethan.  A cloud of ash began to build around Ethan as he prepared his escape, but it was swiftly dispersed by a gust of wind generated by a simple backhanded swipe from the imposing figure.  Ethan backed away involuntarily and on reflex, every fiber of his being screaming for him to run, but there was no where to go, and he had no energy left to try.  He stopped backing up only when his back hit a monument.

"Bravo, you made me have to actually spit out my cigarette for that one," the approaching man taunted hauntingly.

"W-what the hell... are you?" Ethan managed to sputter out, fear evident in his voice.

"I used to be Corey Burton.  Not anymore.  Now I am Chernabog.  Now I am the Black God."

Still sad, though.  Sorry to hear that, Azure, and I hope that everything gets better or, in the case that things aren't wrong and you've just got a lot to deal with, I hope that you're able to get through all of this alright.

Okay, so this is going to be the very last character that I make, and I'll be getting rid of a character to make room for him.  You'll see.  Also, before anyone starts claiming that there's a problem with this inhabitor, please remember that he was in Kingdom Hearts 1.

Name: Corey Burton

Appearance:
Posted Image

Inhabitor: Chernabog

Weapons: His arms can transform into his inhabitor's claws and he can grow wings.  He can breathe fire and create pillars of flame around himself.  He can fling away foes with a burst of wind generated from a backhand swipe.  He can throw homing blasts of fire from his hands and summon ghosts.  What more does he need?

Personality: Rage, hate, and destruction.  An abyss of demonic power and intent.

Age: 26

Height/Weight: 6'6"

#776909 Do you prefer to play as Sora or Riku in KH3D?

Posted by Not-with-a-whimper on 12 August 2012 - 01:17 PM

Let's be honest here.  It's not even fair on Sora's side, because we've played as Sora so much at this point that Riku is a nice change of pace.

Name:  Zalia Evans

Appearance:  Posted Image

Inhabitor:  Barbossa (yes, Always and I did plan this)

Weapons: Pistol, knives, and Jack the monkey (more of a utility, really)

Personality:  Born and raised a Rom, or American Gypsy, it was a natural fit for Barbosa to become her inhabitor.  She likes things, the shinier the better, but doesn't have any strong attachments to much of anything.  She enjoys a challenge and she likes manipulating people, but not from any real malice.  She's just looking for fun. Flirty and morally loose, she's generally a good person who justifies the means with the end.

Age:  22

Height/Weight:  5'2"/115 lbs.

(OOC:  I'm finally back!  Yay!  I'm impressed by the stuff that happened and I had a little input into my characters in my absence, but I'm glad to get to see how it all unfolded.  Only one thing, James used the One Winged Angel keyblade but never Masamune since he's come back, so I'm not sure if that would be okay.  I trust Damion, though, so if he doesn't want to change it then it's fine by me.)

Troy saw James come in and heard the discussion with Felix quickly descend into a fight.  Now that he was sharing a heart with Ventus he felt concerned for Keilani's safety, but he was also worried about Felix.  Fighting Riku was one thing, fighting Sephiroth was another entirely.  He whispered softly into Keilani's ear "Go hide right quick, okay?  I'm going to try to break up this fight but I don't want you getting hurt in the process."  He then took a few steps out from the corner and into the middle of the floor, summoning the X-blade in a brilliant flash of light.  Something felt distinctly different about the sword this time, however.  At first he couldn't place it, but then he understood.  The blade's power reacted to the power of one's heart, which is why it had been so comparatively weak before.  Now that it could react to Ventus's heart, however, let's just say that it was a whole new ball game.  He slashed vertically down with the sword and launched a wave of energy in their direction, attempting to separate the two.  "James!  We're telling you the truth!  Stop this before someone gets seriously hurt!" Troy shouted in a desperate, yet determined tone.

Ethan felt a sudden shift followed by a burst of power from the building James was in nearby.  "What the hell?" he asked himself.  Of course, Hades responded.

"Eh, seems like that winged kid is finally getting interesting.  How about we go check it out?"  Hades asked.

“Since when have you been interested in doing things yourself?” Ethan responded.

“Hey, even gods change after a while, kid,” he retorted.  With that, Ethan teleported to the roof of the building.

While I totally understand and agree that Azure Flame's word on the acceptance or lack thereof of a character is law, I would like to make a short case in favor of repliku.  While Repliku was essentially Riku at first, his path diverged in such a way that calling him "basically Riku" would be like calling Namine "basically Kairi".  The connections he felt to Namine and the darkness he held were all his own, not belonging to Riku.  We can't say for certain how the real Riku would have reacted to all of these situations.  Add to that the fact that by the time we're at now in the story, Repliku and Riku have a fairly different fighting style especially with Yuffie's character getting the dual blade.  Riku's also grown up since his time at Castle Oblivion were the copy originated from.  Those were just some of my thoughts, however I absolutely respect Azure Flame's authority on the matter.  I simply wanted to display factors maybe not considered before.

#688099 Has it ever crossed your mind the possibility of losing interest in games onc...

Posted by Not-with-a-whimper on 10 June 2012 - 08:52 PM

Ya know, I work 53 hours a week during the summer and I have a part time job while I'm taking classes in college but I still love video games.  My love for them far exceeds my available time for playing them.  I did just buy a 3DS just for KH3D and Tales of the Abyss, so I figure "growing out of games" is still far away for me if it happens at all.

(OOC:  You guys know how much it sucks not having internet?  A LOT!  Man I'm super far behind.  Well, here goes.)

Ethan wasn't sure if Scott's words were true and if he was honestly as beat up as he seemed, but he decided to go with it, if mostly for the benefit of the new girl Arina and James.  "Well what do you want us to do Scott?  Obviously we can't let things continue like this, but I don't want to injure any guards and some of those prisoners wouldn't be safe for the general public to face."  In all honesty, Ethan couldn't care less about the safety of any of those people, and actually was keeping himself quite amused by glancing at a newscast on a tv in the upper corner of the room that showed disaster in Disney.  Hades inwardly hoped that anything celebrating Hercules was destroyed in the chaos.  There were also feeds on another city which were equally entertaining.

Tyler ran towards Tudi's fallen body and jumped over Sumer, twisting in mid-air and putting all of his momentum behind launching the ball directly at him.

Troy gasped as the pain in his shoulder from the wound Vanitas had inflicted suddenly dramatically intensified.  He saw before him the destruction brought on by the creation of the X-blade and was struck with horror.  "What?!  No!  This wasn't supposed to happen!  I was supposed to defeat you!" he shouted at the top of his lungs. Deep in his heart he felt a tug at the very essence of who he was.  That energy was ripped from his heart and used in part to form the X-blade.  Troy thought of Keilani and felt... nothing.  He remembered what he should feel, but he didn't feel anything.  He couldn't even feel scared or sad about it, even though he knew he should.  He felt empty.  With no idea how to handle this realization, he let Ventus take over and summon the Keyblade Glider, flying him back to America.

(I will definitely try to be on a lot more often, but I don't know for sure when that will be.  Also, Number XV and I decided that Ventus and Vanitas would remain the same after the creation of the X-blades in our worlds, but that the two hosts would basically become Nobodies.  Should make things interesting, though it is a little sad.)

Ethan led Arina to her room and left her with the keys, promising to see her in the morning to talk about things then and giving her permission to spend as much as she wanted on room service or whatever.  Then he walked back to his own room, opened the door, and found the receptionist already in more... comfortable clothes while lying on his bed in a seductive position.  He ripped his shirt off and smiled, putting the "do not disturb" sign on the door and shutting it behind him, smiling devilishly as he approached the bed.

Troy would've gone out into the rain to speak to Felix, but Alex and Rebekah seemed to have it all under control and he didn't want to disturb Keilani as she lay her head on his shoulder.  He blushed when she thanked him and kissed him on the cheek, and was quite proud of the food he'd helped make as well.  Everyone had done a wonderful job.  Troy was going to kiss Keilani on the forehead in response to her kissing him on the cheek, but when he looked into her eyes as they sparkled in the campfire he wrapped his arms around her and gently pulled her closer, slowly leaning in to kiss her softly on the lips.

Tyler had grabbed himself and Tudi a bowl each and scarfed it all down, barely taking a break to breath.  Turning to Tudi he said, "Maybe you ought to get some sleep, ya?  I'll stay up with the rest of the guys here while you ladies get some rest.  Don't make a fuss, now, you'll all get your chance to stand guard.  First, though, you sleep."  Tyler smiled at her and went to swoop her up and place her in a makeshift bed.  ("Went to" means that he began the action of doing so, but she could do any number of things to react.)  Tyler was glad that he'd met her, she was a really fun person, if a bit childish.

#653010 Do you think this is fair.

Posted by Not-with-a-whimper on 10 May 2012 - 12:27 AM

You guys are misunderstanding my point. I'm not talking specifically about the 'bible thumpers' that might have voted for this particular amendment, I'm talking about homophobic Christians in general. Oh and BTW, you can't discriminate against your own group (AKA, I'm Christian).

Understandable.  Oftentimes it's difficult to portray what one really means when simply posting on the internet, especially since few of us have prior connections to one another or know much about each other's backgrounds.  On topic, however, I believe that homophobic Christians aren't homophobic due to their belief system, but rather due to their cultural and/or social upbringing.  They justify homophobia the way many Christians way back when would justify slavery using scriptures.  Most of homophobia in general is simply a cultural phenomenon, and as soon as it stops being the norm, it will be changed.  Many people who voted against homosexual marriage were probably simply having trouble coping with change or difference, because let's face it.  Change is scary.  I don't think we should be really mad at them though, but rather feel sorry for them that they are so scared of change that they would fight it tooth and nail, even if it poses no real threat to them.

#652957 Do you think this is fair.

Posted by Not-with-a-whimper on 09 May 2012 - 10:39 PM

I have two things to say: As an American this disgusts me because it goes against the very principles of our country: that of equality under the law. And as a Southerner (though not from the Bible belt thank god), this disgusts me because now people will start to say that all southerners are homophobic bastards.
In addition, all those people who use the bible for their justification are really quite pathetic. The Bible contains a lot of material that, if we are to take them literally, must be used in its totality, not in sections that are taken completely out of context. Thus I pose the following questions:
1. For the States where it is illegal to be married/in a civil suit should we reinstate slavery in those states?
2. Should we start to burn people who are not virgins when they get married?
3. Should we start to stone people who commit infedelity?
Or should we accept the message that is given to us to love our neighbors as ourselves.

I'm not sure that everyone who voted for the amendment to pass, was a "bible thumper." While some of them were, you need to remember that not all of them were. I don't think that it's right to hate on them for their beliefs, no matter how illogical they may sound to some. The point is that this amendment affects a lot of people on more than one level and that is what we should talk about. Please, don't bring religion into this, when nothing in this thread directly said anything about religion in the first place.

Agreed.  I'm a Christian myself, but that doesn't mean that I'm all about tearing down others.  Please don't discriminate or group a bunch of people together based on stereotypes.  I made a post on this thread earlier myself.  This thread is about the ways that this amendment can and will effect others, that's all.

Toby Mchugs was a better spiderman

I honestly think that this new guy is doing a really good job.  My favorite thing from what I've seen is that he's got down the trademark quirky/belittling humor characteristic of Spiderman, while Toby did a really good job playing mild-mannered and/or intense, but seemed to lack that playfulness that always made Spiderman my favorite Marvel character.  This is just one man's opinion, however.
