#1138838 What is the Biggest Question that we will never know in KH?

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 15 June 2013 - 04:27 PM

What the factoring heck is Nami?! Axel was reading a freaking "The Truth About Naminé" book in Days. What does that mean?! (Also, does anyone know if they kept that scene in the HD version of Days?)

Just what is up with the Haunted Mansion in Twilight Town? I'm sure there was supposed to be some sort of story behind it, but it never was revealed.

@Admiral Antoine    I agree with you one hundred percent. It still will never happen, but I just have to wonder why. It's just sloppy to leave that plot point untied when it was so apparent in KHI (and some of the others). I mean, their romance doesn't have to be over the top: Kairi could just give Sora a favor to where in battle, but they just need something to happen. Something to get over the white elephant in the room (and to get Kairi and Sora to stop being so awkward around each other). I just don't want It to be a loose end anymore (or a severe case of the "What Happened to the Mouse" trope). Plus, it could show the characters are aging and becoming more realistic. Nomura said that Sora would be more mature in III, and this could be a good way to do it. Just please don't steal even more of the small role that Kairi has.

And you know, some people think a romance in KH would mess up the pace and feel of the series, but I think if they just did very small things, it would be fine. Heck, I think it'd help the pacing, actually, as KH needs periods of rest in it. All I'm saying is that there doesn't need to be a Tidus/Yuna level of romance, but just a little something to make Sora and Kairi's interactions more bearable. (Seriously. I miss seeing them act like they did in KHI, like with nice little banter between them. What happened to that?)

Also... I know some people think Nomura doesn't like romance, because of that one interview, but I don't know how accurately you can actually take that. The interviewer had asked him, randomly, about Sephiroth's love life of all things. To that end, I can easily see why he was like "WTF kind of question is that?" And gave his: "I don't care who loves who" spiel, but you have to remember: that question was entirely different from asking about Sora and Kairi (or something), that has actually been hinted at and has relevance. And let's not forget Nomura also stated we could view KH as a way of seeing Cloud/Aerith together again (or something like that), and that Noctis/Stella seems to be happening in XV. To that end, I don't think Nomura's completely opposed to romance in games. It just has to be done the right way.

Sorry for going off on this rant guys, but it's something that's bothered me for a long time. Just ignore this, if it pleases you. I was just thinking out loud...

#1111168 Madoka Magica DVD Help

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 24 May 2013 - 03:21 PM

It's the DVD player.  I've had the same thing happen before.  Some DVD players are better at reading discs than others, and I find PS3 to be superior than most players.  If you have a PS3, then just watch it on the PS3.  It's not really worth getting a whole new DVD player if your only having problems with one DVD.

That's what I was thinking it was. Thank you so much for responding and telling me :D I was starting to fear I was just never supposed to have a working version of this DVD or something. LOL. Knowing it's just the DVD player makes life so much better! I'll just have to watch it on my PS3 from now on. It sucks, though, because that means I have to watch it on my smaller and non-HDTV. I'd play my PS3 on the HDTV, but for some weird reason the sound from the games/console work, but there's no picture with it. You don't happen to know why that might be, do you? ^_^

Thanks again for the help!

I really like Eternal Sonata. And even with as much (unjustified) hate that they get, I really love FFXIII and XIII-2.

#1091551 Should Kairi have been in DDD (KINDA A SPOILER!)

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 06 May 2013 - 04:07 PM

Honestly, Kairi definitely should have been in DDD more (she should be in the entire series more, actually). As this was the ten-year anniversary game, it's inexcusable how little she was in it. Granted, there was coding for her KHI model found in BbSFM (when it originally was going to have a KH3D demo in it), so maybe they were going to have her more (even playable, possibly), but couldn't because of time constraints?

Still, Square-Enix has really dropped the ball with Kairi, and I hope they get it right soon, but at this rate, I'm afraid they're going to just screw it up again. She has such potential and could be a great character, but honestly, I think some fans write her better than Nomura does.

And there were so many opportunities she could have been in 3D. Like, when Sora was falling into Darkness he could have said Kairi's name (in realizing he would never see her again and was breaking his promise, remembering how she'd saved him when he became a Heartless, etc.), and it would have been a great tie back to KHI! Or they could have had Riku go get her when things seemed the worst, and had her try to help Sora. If nothing else, they should have at least had Sora look at his lucky charm once, or maybe have had her there watching them take the MoM.

Seriously. I still get why she didn't go. DGM were there, and they didn't do anything. They were just there for moral support. And what happened to the "I'm sick of being left behind" girl? Why'd she let them go without her? This would have been a great time for her to see the worlds some, seeing as how they thought Xehanort was gone and stuff. -sigh- I just don't get it.

The only thing that makes sense is if they were trying to make the fact "she's a wielder and Light" shocking, but it just came off as stupid to me. We already knew she could use a Keyblade, and most of us had guessed she was one of the Seven Lights. And don't even get me started on the raft thing...

It would have just been so much better if she'd gone to the Tower earlier, and had begun her training that much sooner. And has no one learned not to leave Kairi alone after what happened with Axel? Jesus, people. So much for the "take care of her" crap and all that.

-sigh-

#1080663 Kairi's game

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 27 April 2013 - 04:28 PM

I still say the best thing would be for her to be the tutorial character in III. I mean, it would make sense story wise and it would cover her training in a satisfactory way, I think. Really, I think the idea's just too good to pass up. It would give her more screen time that she deserve early on, appease those who want to play as her without being too sidetrack-y, and it would be a book end. KHI had Sora have his "Awakening", KHII was Roxas', so why not Kairi for III?

And going along with that, if we play as her first, maybe that'll make Sora at a higher level when we get him (kind of like the Roxas to Sora transfer in II). That would also make sense with the story, seeing as how since Sora's pretty much at Master status... he really shouldn't start out at level 1 again.

#1078112 what is Yen Sid doing with Kairi?

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 25 April 2013 - 02:08 PM

They're going to train her to wield her Keyblade properly. Since she's now a target of Xehanort's by being both one of the Guardians of Light and a Princess of Heart (the Princesses makes up all the Light in the world), her knowing how to defend herself is a necessity.

And frankly  I can't wait to see her in action. I think she could rise to be an amazing hero. Kairi's always had a lot of potential, and I truly hope she gets her time to shine now.

#1071514 KH Ladies Fanclub

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 19 April 2013 - 04:20 PM

So, I don't know if anyone's interested in reading this, but I just posted an article on KHInsider about Kairi's treatment in the KH series, and my thoughts on it. It can be found here. http://www.khinsider...dom-Hearts-3275 Be sure to tell me what you all think about it... if you feel obliged, that is. I'm actually a bit nervous. This is the first editorial I've published, so...

Also, thank you so much for making this thread, KaiSo. The KH ladies deserve so much more love than they get. I personally love them all, and hold many as my favorite characters in the series. So thanks for having this positive forum about the girls; they get too much hate, but maybe this is a step in the right direction to change that now.

#1054830 Any Magical Girl Fans Out There?

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 05 April 2013 - 02:41 PM

Tokyo Mew Mew is my favorite thing ever (avvy and siggy), but if you also read manga I don't think I would completely recommend the manga (the anime focuses more on other characters rather than Ichigo-- the main)

I want to watch PMMM soo badly, but it's hard to force myself into it xD.

And Sailor Moon.... the anime is really flawed IMO, but the manga is perfection; though I like both (as well as the live action version xD)

Right now I'm starting Winx Club, Princess Tutu and Futari wa Pretty cure, and I also kinda forgot about Mermaid Melody... which I should continue.

And end of annoying post~ xD

LOL. The Sailor Moon anime is indeed flawed, but I still love it. Probably for nostalgic reasons and that it was my first anime (though the manga is miles better). But Sailor Moon is just awesome. It was the first anime where a team of magical girls (in matching outfits) fought the forces of evil together. And look at all of the amazing stories it has brought:)

And you should so watch PMMM. It's amazing. I haven't connected to something this much in a long time. It just completely took my breath away, and I don't regret a minute of it. I love the characters, story, music, animation, plot twists... it's all superb. It's easily become one of my fav animes now, and I love its fresh approach to Magical Girls.

And thanks for the info about Tokyo Mew Mew; I'll keep that in mind when I check it out. Most people think the manga's better than Mew Mew Power, so...

I think you'll like Winx Club (if you're not watching the 4Kids version of it, that is). I used to really be obsessed with it, but fell out of it when the movie didn't come here for years. I really should get into it again, though. I do sort of feel I might be a bit old for it, however, but that might just be me being silly. I really do enjoy WC, for what it's worth.

#1051481 Any Magical Girl Fans Out There?

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 02 April 2013 - 09:01 PM

Hahaha. I love Magical Girls! Right now I'm totally obsessed with Pullea Magi Madoka Magica (it's become one of my favorite animes ever, as well as one of my fav Magical Girl ones). Other ones I love are: Sailor Moon (THE magical girl anime, as well as my first anime ever and favorite one for that fact), Winx Club (though I know it and some of the other ones I'm listing here aren't animes), Cardcaptor Sakura, Prétear, Magic Knight Rayearth, Wedding Peach, W.i.t.c.h., the Tenchi OVA series: Pretty Sammy, etc.

There are so many great Magical Girl animes. And there are still so many I need to watch/read, and I can't wait to do so: Mermaid Melody, Tokyo Mew Mew, Princess Tutu, etc. Hell, even things like Totally Spies and The Powerpuff Girls can be seen as Magical Girl shows. Also, the dresssperees in FFX-2 were so Magical Girl-esque. LOL.

Needless to say, I love Magical Girl stories. They're so similar in some ways, but also different. The stories and characters are great, the emotions are really there and there's just so much to enjoy and love about them!

Here are some cool MG amvs I've found lately, if you're interested (though I'd stay away from the second PMMM one if you haven't seen the anime, as the amv has a ton of spoilers).

#1046251 Happy Good Friday, all!

And a Good Friday to you, too:)

I will forever love my Lord Jesus Christ for dying on the cross to save us all from our sins on this day. It was a gift that none could have asked for, and a gift given to us all the same. I love you, my Lord. And I will cherish and serve you always.

#1041454 Who was guiding Sora in his first awakening in Deep Dive?

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 25 March 2013 - 08:31 PM

Though Nomura originally said it was Mickey in the KHI Ultimania, I don't think that’s true now. Nomura could have, after all, changed the idea, seeing as how it was never addressed in the games. Though it's true that Mickey guiding Data Sora in Re:Coded—and seems to have Riku in KHI, if a certain FM scene is anything to go by—I think it's safe to say it was Ven who guided Sora in KHI. Here's why I say this:

For one, when Sora and Ventus are talking towards the beginning of BbS, when they both say "Open the Door", Sora's voice can be heard alongside Ven's. This could be a hint that Ven might guide Sora in the future (the way Sora once did him).

The fact that Ven's armor tries to protect Sora from the Darkness in DDD might also be a hint.

Something else I noticed is how in Sora and Ven's discussion at the beginning of BbS, Sora says, "Where am I?" To that, Ven then says, "Who's there?" That scene is parallel to one in KH2 where Sora once again says, "Where am I?" to Roxas', "Who's there?" Maybe Nomura's hinting that Sora and Ven (and Roxas does have Ven's heart) talk a lot by doing that? IDK.

It could mean nothing and just be a cool parallel Nomura made. But at the same time, who really knows? But for consistency sake, I'd prefer it if Ven was the guiding voice.

And in case you don't know which parallel lines I'm talking about, here's videos of them:

#1013751 Figuring Out Final Fantasy

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 27 February 2013 - 08:19 PM

Final Fantasy X. That game was designed for starters, as the main character is taken to a world he's never known and has the concepts explained to him. The others expect you to have more common knowledge than that. Plus, it was the last of the golden era and the story, characters, music, and gameplay are amazing. And there's no denying that Tidus and Yuna had one of the best romances in the games.

Also, FFX was the first to do a lot of things: have amazing graphics, voice acting, the ability to switch party members during battle, etc. X was also the first game to have a direct sequel, and in that sequel have the first girl main protagonist. X was amazing in many ways, and as it was my first FF, I say it's a great place to start. Gotta love the PS2 games:) I've played that game many times, and it never gets old. It's simply beautiful.

#1011474 What is the deal with Roxas

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 25 February 2013 - 10:41 PM

Because when Sora turned into a Heartless, Ven's heart stayed in his fading body. So when his body became his Nobody (Roxas), Roxas ended up unknowingly housing Ventus' heart. That explains the Roxas and Ventus thing. Now to your next question:)

As for why Sora looks like Ven, Sora linked his heart with Ven when he was, literally, born, and so that probably had an affect on Sora's development.

And technically, Sora and Roxas could have co-existed. As it was revealed in DDD, Roxas grew his own heart (plus having Ven's in him) and more or less was his own person. The only reason he had to return to Sora was because he unintentionally absorbed some of the memories he needed to wake up. Yeah...

#1005693 A Few Questions About the Kingdom Hearts Series?

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 20 February 2013 - 09:45 PM

Thanks a lot guys! :D But one question: How did Riku get his own keyblade?

Well, Terra performed the Rite of Succession on him in BbS (and Aqua accidentally did with Kairi, too), and his heart was strong enough, so he gained the ability to wield one. Anywho, when Riku's heart was weakened by him choosing the Darkness, the Keyblade went to Sora instead (and has stayed there for the most part), but he later proved himself enough to reclaim his rite, and thus his Soul Eater sword morphed into Way to Dawn (I think Way to Dawn was originally Soul Eater, anyway). Hope this helps :D

#1005672 A Few Questions About the Kingdom Hearts Series?

Posted by DenizenofTwilight on 20 February 2013 - 09:37 PM

Oh, boy. Let's see if I can answer some of these for you. And maybe later I'll post in your other forum about what's happened in the series since KHII; I don't have enough time right now.

Sora isn't a normal Keyblade wielder because he never had the Rite of Succession performed on him. In the end, he got his own Keyblade (Kingdom Key: the one that was originally meant for Riku, but chose Sora for good when he proved how strong his heart was during the "my friends are my power" speech in KHI). Anyway, Sora is definitely a rare case, and wouldn't have been able to accomplish any of this if he didn't have the ability to connect with anyone, but he is a true Keyblade wielder, and Kingdom Key is definitely his now. (Not Ven's or Riku's, like some have speculated.) So in short, even when he loses Ven's heart from within him, he'll still be able to wield.

As for Nami's hair color... it's not really known. She is also a special case. And since Axel was reading "The Truth About Naminé" in Days, I'm not even sure she's really a Nobody. That's just the best thing they have to call her. Anyway, some speculate her hair's that color because she might have ties to Ven. And because Roxas is her "twin" Nobody (as they were both created from Sora). There's also the fact that Kairi's a PoH to consider. As Kairi's a being of all Light, that might explain Naminé's light appearance.

Well, from what we know from other Heartless/Nobody counterparts in the series, I think she'd be fine. But then again, who really knows? Kairi and Naminé's case is very odd. It really doesn't make sense how Naminé even exists, but I'd say Kairi would be fine. Especially since Naminé gained a heart and became her own person. She just needs to be freed from Kairi, and all should be well.

For the most part, Roxas and Naminé are just living in Sora and Kairi after KHII. You do see them in Sora's "dream" in DDD, though (among a few other instances). Well, I think it might have been Xion and not Naminé, but whatev. And at this point, its mostly certain they're going to come back as their own people in KHIII.

And no, I really don't think Terra's the Guardian at all. According to the KH3D novel (I think it was the novel, anyway), Xemnas is Terra. He just doesn't have any memories of being him, but has Xehanort's. Keep in mind that hasn't been confirmed (as the novel isn't strictly canon), but it wouldn't be the first time the novel spilled a big truth early. And frankly, I think that makes a lot of sense.

Well, I hope I was able to help you:) If you have more questions, let me know! I'm one of the most knowledgeable fans around (as I've been with KH from the beginning, have played all the games, stay up to date on everything, read all the Nomura interviews, etc.) Anyway, I'd be happy to help ya if I can!

-Shan

P.S. Take everything on the KH wiki with a grain of salt. It's wrong a lot of the time. For instance, it said (and still might) that Xion was an imperfect Replica of Roxas, when really she was one of Sora. Yeah...
