I and several other members have been experiencing frequent page crashes, extremely long load times, and delays in live chat or forum updates throughout the day. After running several speed test to IP board server locations *(or as close as I could get) I got above average speeds so I determined that this was not due to a sudden decrease in my internet speed (my neighbors like to steal my interwebz).
I also could not find anything regarding scheduled down time or expected slow speeds so I'm curious to know whats going on.
While it has sped up to the point of actually being usable I am still experiencing slower than usual speeds.
Please clarify what's going on.

Basically, in technical terms, there are a shitload of people trying to access the site at once. We can't really do anything about it, however, we hope to upgrade to a better server sometime. This will cause around a day of downtime, so we won't be doing this until the KH3D hype is over.
Fair enough, please make sure the downtime is scheduled (or at least predicted) and announced to avoid the confusion of myself and other members.
