Guest Posted July 30, 2016 Aah, Taito. You were an absolute heavyweight in the arcade days against Atari, Sega, Namco, Capcom and firetruck Konami. For everyone clueless about this company, they were the developers responsible for Space Invaders, Bubble Bobble and the Lufia series. But a more interesting fact is that, they're owned entirely by Square Enix. The acquisition happened during 2005 as Taito wanted the relevancy into mainstream gaming again and Square Enix wanted to delve into the arcade business so they both benefited! Thing is though, this historic company is completely forgotten outside Japan nowadays... Which is why I've decided to create a petition to Square Enix so that they consider releasing a legacy arcade collection to make Taito relevant and provide a bit of gaming culture to the world. https://www.change.org/p/square-enix-publish-a-taito-legacy-collection-game Here is the link to the petition.
