- Rufus Contralto, Mystras, with Rabiyu -

The magniloquent Rufus stood there with his hands on his hips and laughed a triumphant note when Eclaire was out of earshot, dragging herself off as she headed back with the main force of the Kilkes Seres soldiery.

"It would gladden me to not see her face ever again, as I was bluffing too," confessed the djinni, turning towards Rabiyu.  "Her skills, while greatly impotent toward me, were somehow enough to affect me.  I am impervious to most things magical or physical, which has its deficits"--Rufus pointed towards his empty stomach, cuing into existence a horrible growl from it--"but I might have stalled her enough for you or someone else to land a good hit, had she not fled the field!"

All joviality was sapped from him when he heard about this Reggie, however.  If Rufus were a dog, hair would have been bristling from head to toe at the mere mention of the man, but instead he implemented the most horrible of grimaces.

"You met that degenerate hippie?!" he shrieked in anger, though not towards Rabiyu.  He paced hither and thither in the air, spinning violently as he turned around.  "That man!  He was the one that imprisoned me all those many years ago, a mangy and horrible being that robbed me of my memory and my sanity!  If there is anything that would come out of his mouth, it would be webs of lies no spider would spin."

He slumped forward, arms grasping his afro-laden head as if trying to quell his anger.  He turned upward to look back upon Rabiyu, eyes still aflame but dimmed in comparison to before.

"I'd advise you not to trust that man in whole, Milady.  As I mentioned before, I am unable to do anything but cancel magic and speak.  I tried other things I thought I remembered, but they are just figments, leftovers of a past I either cannot recall or instead invented from centuries of isolation.  However, I will not lie, Milady.  If freed, I can make no promise that I will not invoke vengeance upon that enslaving fiend!"

-Sifrei Mond - With Raiden -
Sifrei followed Raiden closely, he, like Eliltari, had to take care of Raiden and help him in whatever he needed.
"My apologize, Your Lordship, but Mariel fought against the Frostbearer and suffered a few injuries," Sifrei said with a hint of worry, "but she asked me to deliver this message to you because she felt that it would take longer if she was the one to bring such an urgent message."
The Archangel looked behind him for a moment before once again looked at Raiden.
"I know it was a bad idea, but something told me that she was not going to take no for an answer, so I agreed to her request," Sifrei said, "she told me that she was going to return, and while I worry about her, I trust that she can make it back. I also think that there was another motive, a personal one, but I didn't want to pry."

- Lord Raiden, Mystras, with Sifrei -

Raiden stopped at the mention of Mariel's injuries, worry fluttering through his heart at the thought of losing his old friend and comrade after so long a period of not seeing her.  However, he soon continued stepping toward the encampment, engrossed in the conversation.

"I must greatly thank you and Mariel for passing along this message, then.  She is a hardy soul, and angelic healing stretches farther than those of common curative magics.  I trust she will be hale and hearty before any other battles occur, if any, and that her decisions were sanely made.  Now, come, Ophaniel.  I must gather our forces and set them on the defensive while Shiva and I are away to negotiate."

With the crackle of lightning, Raiden surged forward with great speed, heading first for the healing tent to survey who was well and who was not.

The scents of medicinal salves could not completely blot out the stench of blood and viscera which threatened to bowl over Raiden as he entered, with or without Sifrei in tow.  The tent was massive and accommodated a great number of wounded and several medics that went from location to location.  He passed by a individual covered with a white sheet that was carried off through the opening in the canvas.  A sleeve-covered hand slipped into view as he looked backwards, and he turned his head in horror.  War took the life of yet another person close to him, even if a recent addition to his assortment of allies and friends.  He choked back the vomit that tried to crawl up his esophagus and continued, trying to act like the iron-willed, cogent leader others thought him to be.

In the distance he spied Arthur and Henry, two humans he made sure to remember.  A few minutes later, he spied King Alderon, the man having taken a rather severe blow that could have killed him but did not.  That was an enormous blessing.  The death of the king from the world below would have been devastating, both diplomatically and in terms of morale.  Raleigh, that mercenary girl, was nowhere to be found, but he did not give her much thought as he worked his way through the tent, looking more and more grim and pale as he did so.

- Rabiyu - With Rufus -
The Northern Elf listened to the Djinni speak is mind about the Druid she had faced before, the result was the expected one.
"That is understandable, Rufus, and if given the opportunity I will try to help you get your freedom. Both you and me are the same in that regard," Rabiyu said after sighing, "We have a past we cannot remember, but unlike you, I feel that mine should stay that way."
It took a moment to remember what she was feeling during the fight with the Druid, but the more she tried to remember the more she realized that whatever happened made her care less about the consequences of her actions, that she was actually enjoying the thrill of battle.
"Regardless, let us make haste, there is something I have to do, something that I would rather..." she then kept silent, it was a strange feeling, but she knew what had to be done, "no, forget about it, it doesn't matter...not anymore."
The Elf put the lamp inside her cloak and began her walk back. It took her awhile to arrive at her destiny, her thoughts in disarray all the way, the first thing she did was look around the different tents looking for one of the two familiar faces, and while it took her a decent amount of time, she managed to find the younger sibling resting on one of the beds, her armor was laying at the side of the bed while her upper body was covered in bandages.
"A thousand curses, it seems that the one that fell was the older sibling," she thought while looking at Aura's armor, "It looks like this is my fault to some degree."
After a few minutes Rabiyu noticed that the human began to stir, which was a good sign.
"Ugh...my head hurts. Uhm...where am...I?" Aura asked as she slowly focused on her surroundings and noticed the White haired Elf, "What happened to me? My body feels sore."
"You suffered an attack on your back, if what the healers told me is correct then the attack was made by a werewolf," she said flatly, "Sifrei brought you here for treatment. You can figure out the rest."
Aura slowly sat on the bed while looking at the Elf, there was something about her face that she hadn't noticed, she wasn't sure what, but it was there.
"Oh yeah, I remember that...thing. He took me by surprise, I suppose." Aura said weakly, "So, did my brother and Sifrei managed to defeat him?"
Rabiyu slowly nodded, which made Aura sigh in relief and smile a little.
"I have to admit that you feys are on a different level compared to us humans," she said while looking around, "Well, where are Sifrei and my brother?"
And there it was, the question that the Northern Elf was afraid of, one that she knew the answer to, but didn't wanted to answer. Aura looked at the Elf, her smile slowly disappearing from her lips.
"Rabiyu, where are Sifrei and my brother?" she asked once again while slowly rising from the bed, "tell me where they are."
Rabiyu's eyes looked away from Aura, she could feel Sifrei nearby, but how could she tell the young human about her brother.
"Sifrei is somewhere outside at the moment," Rabiyu said while looking away, "your brother on the other hand, well. Aura, I'm afraid that your brother fell in the battle against the werewolf."
If one could hear a heart shatter then they would be able to hear such sound coming from Aura's chest. The human slowly made her way towards the Elf, and once there, she put her hand on her shoulders.
"No...p-please, n-no...tell, tell me your lying," Aura said while her voice was breaking, "my brother...Aurion can't...he can't be..."
"I am sorry, Aura, but that's the truth. Your brother managed to defeat his opponent, but he gave his life in the process," Rabiyu said as she noticed the tears gathering on Aura's eyes ,"Again, I'm sorry for your loss, Aura, but there was nothing we could do."
Aura was not listening to anything that Rabiyu was saying at the moment, her brother was gone and he was not going to be coming back, he would no longer be nagging her about the silliest things she did, he wasn't going to be at her side like he always had. Aura's surroudings went black at that moment.

- Sifrei Mond - With Raiden -
The Archangel followed the Lord of Mystras in silence, he could see that watching the injured hurted him, the ones who fell hurting him more, but he was the Lord of Mystras, he had to show a strong will, even in such situation. There was no words that Sifrei could offer to the Lord for the loss of those under him. That's when he heard the ruckus in the far end on the tent, and to his surprise he saw his friend, Eliltari, being punched and falling outside of the tent, followed by the injured human girl, Aura. Sifrei didn't wasted time and quickly ran behind his friends. He was shocked by what he saw upon arrival, Aura was punching Eliltari, who was currently laying on the ground, in her face without any sign of stopping
"Aura stop! What are you doing?" Sifrei asked as he grappled her from behind and pulled her away from Eliltari, "Why are you attacking Eliltari? What happened?"
"You let my brother get killed Sifrei! My brother is dead because you left him alone!" Aura yelled while struggling to get free from the Archangel's grasp, her eyes were red and filled with tears, "Let me go! Let me kill her! She is at fault too! It's her fault! It's both yours and her fault!"
The human's strength, while not enough to break free, was more than Sifrei expected, probably thanks to her enraged state.
"I'm sorry Aura, I'm really sorry, but you need to rest," Sifrei slowly reached for the human's forehead, but before he could touch it she managed to hit him with the back of her head, which made him look away, "Stop struggling Aura, it's for your own good."
It took a few minutes, and a lot of threats and tears from Aura, but in the end Sifrei managed to use a small magic spell to put Aura to sleep. He then brought the girl back to her bed before going back to his elf friend, who was dusting herself off.
"What happened? Why was she attacking you, Eliltari," Sifrei asked, a hint of confusing in his voice, but when his friend didn't answer he realized the cause of such outburst, "Oh...you told her, right,"
When the Elf turned to look at the Archangel the first thing he saw was blood coming from the Elf's nose and mouth, and a swelling cheek.
"Was there any other option, Sifrei? Better to tell her now rather than she finding out later by a stranger," she answered while rubbing her cheek, "at least that way I managed to minimize the damage."
Rabiyu didn't dare to look at Sifrei in the eye, she had spend her time in the Forest of Illusion for hundred of years alone, and without anyone to watch her shed tears. This wouldn't be the time for anyone to see her show weakness.
"Eliltari, looks at me, please. If someone is to blame for this, then that's me," he said as he touched the Elf's chin and made her turn to look at him, "I had to bring Aura back and I was not fast enough to return on time."
Silence remained for a moment, Sifrei was worried for his friend, but she still didn't met his eyes.
"The armor was not perfect, Sifrei, it was not and I knew that. It was durable, yes, but still, it was a rushed work. just a couple of weeks to craft two whole sets of armor was not enough," Rabiyu said coldly, "I accept my responsability in the tragedy, but that doesn't mean it doesn't make me feel uncomfortable. Nothing I do will bring the human back."
The Archangel pulled the Elf closer and gave her a hug, he knew that she never liked to show emotions, but he felt that, at this moment, she needed someone at her side.
"We can only try our best at protecting Aura, Eliltari," he said, "I promised Aurion that we would take care of his sister. I will fullfil that promise, no matter what. When this is over, we will take Aura to the North and she will have a good life there."
The only thing Rabiyu could do was lean her forehead against the Archangel's chest and stay completely still.
"I don't like hugs," Rabiyu said softly, "I really don't like them."
"Why is that?" Sifrei asked, "What's wrong with a hug."
"Never trust a hug, Sifrei," Rabiyu answered after a few seconds without making any effort of pushing Sifrei away, "It's just a way to hide your face."
If the Archangel could see the face of the Elf at that moment he would notice the tears falling from her eyes into the ground, but he could not, and the Elf was grateful for that.

Dawson-Returning to Jynn

Dawson heeded Shiva's words. "I will make sure to do that when he awakens." That was all he had to say. Not only that, a couple of allies had come up with questions about what to do next. He gets Mel to take off and head back to the mountains. Unfortunately, they could not hide from the enemy, as there were no clouds to hide in. Mel had to speed up so nobody can catch the duo.

(Sorry the post is so short. I'm working a lot on Jynn's plot at the moment, and life is not being friendly.)

- Henry - The Dreadnaught -

Henry continued speaking with Helios and Arthur for a while, before noticing some noise coming off in the distance, with familiar voices and everything. "Hold on." Henry spoke, to Helios and Arthur as he began to walk to the commotion.

Henry missed most of Aura, Sifrei and Rabiyu's discussion about the death of Aurion, only getting a few glimpses and a few tidbits that were too vague for him to come to the conclusion that Aurion was dead. though it did unnerve him somewhat.

Henry came up behind Sifrei and Rabiyu, as the former had placed Aura in her bed.

"So..." Henry spoke, as he slowly walked up to them. With an unnerved and confused aura around him, screaming suspicion. "Mind telling me...what was this 'tragedy?' "

Henry spoke, clutching his fists...Oh he probably already knew what this was about from what he heard. But he wanted to hear Sifrei, or Rabyiu say It.

- Alastor - THe Storm -

Alastor selflessly helped Mariel in her endeavor of struggling back to camp. Chuckling at the way she spoke of battle. A woman of battle, much like he was a man of war. This pleased him to be with a like-wised individual.

"It'l take more than a little war to kill me." Alastor spoke, a small smirk forming behind his helmet. Which still covered his mouth area.

"Fought the queen did you? That was bold...." Alastor spoke, with a lecturing sort of tone.

"Good work." Alastor immediately followed up. Nonchalantly. As he assisted Mariel on her way back.

- Helios & Arthur - Side: Mystras Rebellion - Healer Tents - With Henry -

Arthur wanted to say something back to Henry, but couldn't come up with anything. Too many thoughts. Too many conflicted ideals mixed with emotions. The sight of Morana's body, of her head rolling on the ground as he decapitated her. The crunch of the bone against the blade. Now there was also what happened right before, the lightning...He simply nodded, turning away from Henry. He would stay by where the King was, and hope to be there when he awoke. "(There was no other way.)" Arthur reminded himself. "(I have to be the sword...I have to kill them before they kill me first.)" Arthur insisted, playing with the stem of the flower that was wrapped around the hilt of his sword. Helios smiled softly at Henry. "Thank you." He said, nodding at him as Henry stepped away. Helios turned to Arthur, frowning at his expression. Arthur looked away. "Don't look at me like that." "Forgive me." "Crap." Arthur sighed. "He's right. The blood of whoever I kill is on me but..." He gritted his teeth. "How else am I supposed to survive in a war...?!" He knew something like this was unavoidable...he just didn't know that it would shake him that badly. Helios pursed his lips. "(The laws of nature do not always apply to man. We were not meant to originally kill each other to survive. That's not how a species is meant to work...)" He thought. Helios looked around, his eyes landing on Raiden. "(Lord Raiden.)" Helios thought. Seeing a moment, he quickly stepped over to greet him and introduce himself. "Lord Raiden." Helios said, bowing his head slightly. "You're...the one who freed Ren from his imprisonment...thank you." Helios said, looking up. "I'm Helios Silverstrider. A friend of Ren. Ren has...passed away. He was fatally injured in the battle..." He informed, gently feeling the necklace. "I originally met with the Queen. However, I have made my choice to join he efforts to help humanity join the two worlds and take down the barrier. Whether Queen Shiva has even noticed my absence or not, it won't do much difference, I believe. I'm a Shapeshifter. I am able to take shape of any creature or animal. I am nowhere near as strong as the originals are, but do know that my powers are at your disposal, sir." Helios said, determined as he assured his alliance to Raiden. He was about to say more, before his eyes landed on Aura, who was unconscious on a bed, just by Henry and the group. "Aura!" Helios said, his focus now on the human girl as he hurried to her side. But there was something...off. No. Missing. "Aura...wait..." Helios looked around. He didn't see him. He looked over to Henry, and his agitation only reinforcing the ache in the pit of his stomach. You already know. "...where is Aurion?" But are you ready to accept?

- Rabiyu and Sifrei with Henry and Helios -

Rabiyu quickly pushed Sifrei away the moment she heard a familiar voice, that of Henry, and something told her he was not happy.
"I do not think this is the right time, Master Henry," Sifrei said after turning around to face the the Dreadnaught, "Could you please-"
"Aurion is dead, Master Henry," Rabiyu said flatly, "I suppose that is what you wanted to hear, yes? That Aurion fell in battle."
Sifrei quickly turned towards the Elf and sighed while shaking his head.
"Rabiyu, that is not the way to-"
"There is no other way, Sifrei, besides, that is the undeniable truth," She said while looking at Henry, "There is also the fact that instead of losing both humans, Sifrei choose to save the younger one instead of letting both die."
The Archangel turned to look at Henry and slowly nodded.
"I'm afraid that Aurion asked me to take his sister to the healers while he fought against the werewolf known as Fenrir," Sifrei said to Henry as he watched Helios coming closer, "I wasn't able to return on time to help him, and the moment I arrived Aurion was already...well, dead. I sent his body back with some of my magic, so his body should be somewhere around here."
Rabiyu was looking at Helios with a curious look on her face, but she didn't said anything. If her reports about Kilkis Seres were correct then he must have been the one who brought the humans to the Overworld. There was also the fact that she was focused on Henry, waiting for any sign of movement, she had told him the news rather suddenly, but it was better that way, at least that's what she tought, sadly, her state of mind was not fine at the moment.

{Mariel: Mystras encampment; Nearing the Healer Tents with Alastor}

"Yeah, it appears that war cannot end me so easily either." Mariel commented in a blank tone, her gaze cast down for a moment.

She seemed to recover from this dour mood as Alastor continued to speak. She caught the lecturing tone in his voice when he spoke of her going up against the Queen. The tone caused her to smile. It had been rather brash, but it had fulfilled a purpose. She just prayed it would be more than just keeping the enemy disorganized.

"Thank you." The Guardian Angel replied to Alastor. "Let's hope she has learn some lessons from this battle."

The injured Angel and her escort made slow but stead progress to the healer tents. A few yards from the tent, Mariel stopped. She could see a large gathering of wounded and mourners gathered around, including some faces she recognized. She looked solemn as she observed the scene. Guardian Angels were no strangers to death, but because of their training and temperament, they took the death of allies not of the Host hard. Ahead were the faded lights of brave soldiers she couldn't protect.

"This is far enough." She said in a quite voice. "I can make it fine from here. Thank you for your help, Ser Alastor."

- Henry - The Dreadnought -

The words pierced Henry's chest like a hot knife through butter. And like that, the pressure of his aura skyrocketed for a second. For that second, it was as if dust could be turned into a perfect diamond from the sheer pressure Henry's aura emmited. As he did not like Rabiyu's tone, even if she was right. The ground could be felt rumbling around them as well. As a result of his earth power going haywire for a split second due to the sudden realization.

Both of Henry's hands were now clenched into fists, Henry's aura was strongest around his arms. As his eyes began glowing for a split second. One of his eyes was bright, red. And the other purple.

He stared directly at Rabiyu, and turning to Sifrei. As his aura subsided, and completely vanished in the blink of an eye. "...I appreciate the honesty" Henry spoke, with a...very sorrowful tone. While he looked down. Clearly these news had taken a toll on him.

He quickly raised his head to look at Sifrei. The archangel supposedly charged with "protecting" them.  "its neither of you two's fault..." Henry spoke, even more sorrowful now.

"Because the fault is all MINE!" Henry screamed, his voice cracking, this time his tone in pure anger as he slammed his fist into the ground. His fist pierced a large hole and cracked the ground around it. "Im the one who brought them into this world, Im the one who dragged them into this!" Henry spoke, clutching his head with both his hands. "DAMMIT!" He spoke, slamming both his hands onto the ground, cracking it even more. But not tearing a fissure or anything. Nothing that could cause anything drastic to the surroundings, just the ground.

Slamming his fist one more time onto the ground. Henry slowly rose back up, silent. With a...ashamed expression on his face. As he looked at Sifrei. "And...what of the werewolf...was Aurion...able to kill it?" Henry asked the archangel.

- Alastor - The Storm -

"I think we've all learned valuable lessons from this." Alastor remarked as they approached the tents.

Mariel soon stopped in her tracks, telling Alastor she was alright and could make it fine. Alastor simply nodded his head. "RIght, you take care of that leg. i'l go speak with Raiden." Alastor spoke, serious as always. As he vanished in a spark of lightning.;

- Rabiyu and Sifrei with Henry and Helios -

Rabiyu relaxed the moment Henry's aura subsided, she had been ready for any kind of outburst, but Henry had managed to control himself, to some extent.
"Yes, Fenrir is good as dead. Aurion managed to pierce his heart," Sifrei answered, "and blasted it into pieces by releasing the full arcane energy contained in the sword that Eliltari gave him."
The Elf was glad that the sword served its purpose, but it wasn't able to save the poor young man's life, that made Rabiyu feel ashamed.
"I think we all share the blame for what happened, Master Henry. You blame yourself for bringing them to the Overworld, I blame myself for my poor job at making their armors, and I think Sifrei feels the same as we do," Rabiyu said as she wiped the blood from her nose and mouth away., "It is a tragedy, and we cannot change it, but we need to make sure that Aura is in good hands from now on."

- Helios & Arthur - Side: Mystras Rebellion - Healer Tents - With Henry, Rabiyu, Sifrei & Aura -

Helios looked down, gritting his teeth. So it was true. Auron was dead. "Not you too..." Helios whispered, holding the sheets tightly as he felt tears escape his eyes. Could I have stopped them? I should have sent them home-! "(Get a hold of yourself...!!!)" Helios thought, snapping at himself, wiping tears away. Ren was gone. Auron was gone. Countless of lives were gone. But Henry was here. Aura was here. Many others still remained. They could not fall. They still had new hells to conquer. He looked up at Henry, guilt riddling him. What could he possibly say? Glancing over at Rabiyu and Sifrei, he then turned back his attention to Aura. "(Be strong.)" He thought, before standing back up and looking at Henry. "Don't carry so many weights over your shoulder, Henry. It will break you." Helios began. "Instead use it to honor him. He gave his life for a war he didn't have to fight for, and yet he did. We will mourn, and we will cry, and we will throw blame and lash at ourselves as much as we want, but not now." Helios said, his fists shaking. "We will watch over Aura. We won't let Auron to have died in vain!" He frowned. "You carry the guilt over you like heavy clouds, even when we met. But for once, allow yourself to pull yourself away from them. Don't let the guilt be used against you, and instead use it to pave the path forward to your redemption. Maybe you'll reach it, maybe you won't. But the path will be worth something in the end, won't it?" Helios asked, looking back down to Aura, kneeling back down next to her. "I'll stay with her."

{Mariel: Mystras encampment; Nearing the Healer Tents}

With Alastor taking his leave, Mariel took a moment to take a few steadying breaths before kneeling. She could begin a healing trance to get things moving on her recovery without bothering the healers. Getting to both knees, she laid Bright Guard before her, within easy reach of her hands. She carefully pulled out Heaven's Flame from its sheath and laid it down so that it crossed its companion.

Now, the part the Guardian Angel wasn't looking forward to. She reached up for the remains of the ice spear still in her wing, but paused as she recalled a small flask of moonshine she had on her in her human guise. Had it survived the transformation? A brief search revealed it had. Popping the cork, Mariel took a healthy draft from the flask. The moonshine burned on the way down, causing the Angel to make a face. As she was feeling an effect from that first drink, she reached up with her free hand and pulled the melting ice spear from her wing. She let out a muffled yelp as a new surge of blood came from the wound. She dropped the spear and pounded the ground with her fist a few times as she internalized the renewed pain.

Taking another, longer, drink from the flask, Mariel settled down in a more comfortable position of sitting on her legs. She recorked the flask and placed it beside her. She began to mumble in the angelic tongue to summon her healing magic. As the power grew, she took of her head piece and stared at it dully. It took her a moment to realize a healer was hurrying over to her. She completed all but the last lines to the healing trance as she looked up at the healer, light emanating off her.

"Tend to the others." Mariel said as she placed her head piece to the side. "I can deal with most of my own wounds. Though if you have spare time and magic, I'll take some extra juice for my wing."

Taking a deep breath, the Guardian Angel spoke the last word and fell into a healing trance, her eyes closed and her form glowing softly. She could be awoken if needed, but would not be at full strength for sometime.

Jynn Venas-Dream

Jynn awakens to the sight of Kilkes Seres, all destroyed. The village appears to have burned, and a couple spires from the castle are leveled. It looked as if an apocalyptic event had taken place. The atmosphere was ominous as well.

Jynn takes a stroll around town. There was nobody around. He checked inside the homes too, nobody. "What happened here?" He turns away from the house he stood near, and a large mirror appeared in front of him, taking him by surprise. "A mirror? Why is there on all the way out here." Walking up to it, he looks at his reflection, with it triggering regret within him. "I'm a fool for joining the war. Now that I managed to flee, how can I face my allies and friends again? I bet everyone is thinking I'm a coward now........ even Helios and Dawson......." A random voice responds with a echo. "It is because they do." Jynn's reflection moves on its own, reaching its arm out of the mirror, calling a Waking Leviathan of its own. Jynn jumps backwards and summons his own Leviathan. The reflection steps out of the mirror. "Nobody wants a coward to lead a flank....... or rule a kingdom." Jynn snarls at the creature.

- Soren Monroe and Meksis - Riding toward the Kilkis Camp upon Ella the Horse -

Despite the Camp not being all too distant from the Battlefield, Soren and Meksis's journey there upon the latter's steed felt like a long pass through the land, particularly due to their initial silence in spite of the interactions they shared prior. This was because Meksis had a question on his mind for the ex-sentinel, one he knew would be uncomfortable for them both yet it needed saying. "Sooner or later, you'll have to ask him, Meksis~" The incessant prodding of his new dark side did nothing to help matters, so Meksis took a deep breath and cleared his throat, soon proceeding to remedy the awkwardness that had settled upon them both. "Soren...may I ask you something?" Meksis spoke to Soren, who was slightly surprised by the silence being broken as he too was lost in thought, mostly daydreaming to pass the time by. "Oh? Sorry, of course. What troubles you?" Soren responded, feeling his neck had become a little stiff he cracked it before his last sentence.

"What are your ideals?" The Chaperone took care not to speak to quickly as it had it's effect upon Soren, who humphed and frowned, looking down at himself before concluding with a nod. "My ideals...I, I believe that Humans and Fey, they, should be able to co-exist once again. Humans should be given the opportunity, I feel. As long as they remember their place in the cosmos and as a result, do not attempt to conquer us or fight us again, I could see it coming to be..." Uncertainty plagued the face of Soren Monroe, Meksis could see it as clear as the stars at night. "And you aspire to unify the races?" He then quizzed to Soren, who nodded again, more insistently. "Yes, of course...and Raiden, he believes the same."

"Well...from what I understand, that does not fall in line with what the Queen has in mind. All she would see in the future is nothing but bloodshed. Am I incorrect?" This question posed by Meksis did little to quell Soren's uncertainty, despite his response. "No, you're not...she does not see a peace between us in the foreseeable future. We have had many disagreements about that in the past and up until recently, I had too much respect for her and was too loyal to push the subject further." Soren answered promptly, then lamented over what history had taught him for so long, even in recent months. "So during this whole war, the person you've betrayed the most is yourself?" Meksis quipped quickly and snappily in response, one that prompted a sharp response from Soren, who raised his head to look at him. "What?! Myself??" "Yes, yourself! In spite of history, you still believe that Humans and Fey, despite the unfortunately bloody history we share, can still co-exist and yet, when push comes to shove, you abandon your ideals and the only one who can help you realize them and crawl crying to your majesty? Is that about right?!" Meksis spoke harshly and without hesitation, nothing inhibited him now from stating his true thoughts...perhaps that was a small benefit of this infection. Nevertheless, Soren was shocked at the sentiment, but found it difficult to reply. "Y-You--What are you suggesting?! You believe me a foolish turncoat?!" Meksis then pulled on the reigns of Ella, calling "Woah!" to signal to her to stop galloping and sit still as Meksis turned to face Soren.

"Well what I'm not suggesting is that you should get off my horse and simply run back to Raiden. Instead, I ask you this...what do you really want? Do you want to adhere to the oath you swore to Shiva and serve her loyally, while having to accept that your ideals are a goal that far off into the future? Or do you want to actively and quickly ensure this future and return to Lord Raiden, who is the only one who can see your vision become a reality sooner rather than later?" Meksis spoke scathingly to Soren, who now felt as if he could do nothing but listen, because he knew Meksis was right. The Chaperone rolled his shoulders and looked ahead again. "You need to give this a good, long and hard think, Sentinel. And know that whatever path you choose will be a difficult and lengthy journey. To go back to Raiden will require you to press on under his wing, without Ren Mordecai, but to make all of the progression and decisions towards making your dream a reality."

"But to go back to Queen Shiva, you must realize that you are going to need to earn back that trust. Your station? You'll need to earn it back. Your prestige? You'll need to earn it back. The name of Soren Monroe unsullied? You. Need. To. Earn. That. Unless you want to disappoint both sides and become nothing more...than Soren, the Betrayer." Meksis concluded calmly to the ex-Sentinel, then he looked back to him, the man was in thought after hearing what the armour had to say. "He couldn't be more on the dot...I feel like I've just been lectured by...well, myself. Heh...and it hurts." Soren spoke in his mind, then he looked to the distance, roughly in the direction of Raiden's camp...then back to the Kilkis camp. He could only sigh deeply at the implications of either decision, his sight only shifting back to the Living Armour when he spoke again. "Just so you know...whatever decision you make, Soren...I will follow you down whichever path you take." This statement surprised Soren, genuinely so, who stated wide-eyed at him. "You what?" Meksis chuckled at his reply. "I may serve Queen Shiva, but us Living Armours are bound to those who awaken us...and I cannot be bound to another Armour. Maxis woke me up, so the decision is mine. It is ultimately your decision, Soren. I can only guide and support you. You must be the one to walk down the crossroads, down whichever path you choose."

"...there is a third option..."

Soren's melancholy tone was enough to shudder Meksis, who simply glared at Soren and uttered: "No." Staring into his eyes before speaking once more. "Don't you dare." Soren then scoffed at himself, looking to the side. "You're right...I couldn't simply do that." "You're goddamn right you can't. Now come, my friend, we're almost there." Meksis quickly cheered up before kicking Ella back into motion, as they soon arrived at the Kilkis Camp.

- Nergal, Remnant of Meksis - Site of the Battle, Needs Healing -

Alastor had departed, the man who had granted Nergal some form of meaning in his hollow life...and he was still lying on the ground. Forcing himself up to his knees, Nergal coughed harshly. He was battered, bruised and in need of aid...he could not find Yevgeni again like this. Taking a few sharp, rapid breaths, he pushed himself quickly up onto his feet, wincing as the pain rushed over his body once more, constantly re-emerging in deep, throbbing pulses under his skin. Nergal inhaled deeply as he began staggering to where he thought there would be Healers, as all of those on his side of the field had perished, rather painfully as well. A few hard earned steps later, Nergal looked ahead to the horizon, the Kilkis Army had fled back to their camp and not a healer was in sight, but the camp was, just barely. Unfortunately, he could only take a few more steps before an overwhelming pain in his side forced him back to the ground with an agonized groan and an ungraceful fall.

"N-No...come oooonn...!" Nergal's voice strained and was wheezing as his vision began to fade, he could feel his mind slipping into unconsciousness in spite of how hard he was fighting to keep himself awake, lowering his head to the dirt and steadily submitting to his pain, his vision almost blackened and his ears hearing nothing but ringing and the echoing howl of the wind around him...

...............................................

.....................

"Hold on! Don't die on me now, I've got you..."

Nergal's vision returned to him slowly, but surely, as he felt energy flowing through him. A healing energy that soothed his pain and brought sense back to his body, he was being healed? But how? Who? His hearing returned properly, her muffled voice would now be clearer along with the calming sounds of her Healing Magics, she was his saviour and her face was one of relief upon seeing activity from Nergal.

The Healer was a fair, yet well-built young woman, with styled blonde hair in a ponytail with one bang over her forehead and shining blue eyes, she sighed thankfully knowing she had saved a life on the blood-soaked fields of war. She wore well-kept and royal looking robes, covering most of her body aside from her shoulders and collarbone, held together at the chest with a large, silver button engraved with an emblem: A sword wrapped around in the embrace of extended wings, seemingly representing an angel, he assumed it was a sigil representing health, protection, other such qualities a Healer would hold dearly, yet the sword resting in its scabbard on her waist, along with the handle behind her back suggesting a Crossbow surely suggested she was not above fighting to save a life. Upon her head was a golden laurel wreath, though blurry vision could've mistaken it for a halo or crown. A few light pieces of armour were upon her, not enough to slow her down immensely but enough to protect vital areas of her body.

The Healer then placed Nergal's arm around her shoulders and picked him up to his feet, guiding and carrying him along the battlefield toward the Kilkis Camp.

"Stay with me now, I've got you..." Her words of assurance continued, their effect clearly shown upon Nergal's still strained, yet considerably relieved and awakened face. He would survive this day.

- Henry - Healer's tent -

Henry had his back facing Helios as the boy spoke to him about the guilt he carried. It was true, Henry was indeed the type to hold things to himself and slowly let them eat at him. It wasn't good, he knew, but he couldn't change. "I am already broken." Henry muttered, mostly to himself. As he turned around to hear the rest of Helios's statements. 'Helios...' Aura spoke, within Henry's mind.

"Right..." Henry let out in a quiet voice. Taking in all that Helios spoke, and as the boy quickly went to check on Aura.

He then turned to Sifrei and Rabyiu, the latter who had just cleaned some of the blood.

"I need to take a walk..." Henry spoke, managing to look them in the eye now. Looking at Sifrei, Henry quickly moved forward and put a hand on his shoulder. "Keep her safe, I implore you." Henry told him. Before he walked over to Helios and Aura, who was asleep. He looked at her for a bit,but quickly broke his gaze, partially ashamed and frustrated at himself still. Before walking off to check on the other tents.

'I don't deserve redemption.'

'We all do'

'There are some things we do that we can't redeem ourselves for...'

'Henry, you don't have to blame yourself for everything...'

Jynn Venas-Dream vs Shadow Jynn

Jynn retaliates at the shadow. "You don't know that!" The latter shrugs. "You're right, but you don't either. I'm just an incarnation of your thoughts and doubts." He lunges at the prince with an alarming speed, swinging his sword towards Jynn's side. Jynn managed to parry the incoming attack, but is taken by surprise when the shadow fires an electric orb at him, sending him flying backwards. The prince managed to get back up on his feet. The shadow belittles him. "Give up. You are nothing, and you always were nothing. Your life is meaningless. Nobody cares about you, and they never will." He smirks and gives out another taunt. "Especially since some know about your new and incredible powers." Jynn is heavily triggered, and dashes at the enemy, and slashes at him with the Leviathan. The shadow blocks the attack, initiating a blade lock. Jynn sucker punches the shadow. It laughs. "Hehehahah! Am I wrong?!" He faces Jynn again. "Your only friends are a cat, a horse, a little girl, and a liar." Jynn is incredibly frustrated and angry. "SHUT UP!" He ends the blade lock and somersaults over the shadow and slashes it from the back, with success. It shrieks in pain and dissipates. Jynn growls in anger, but he manages to settle down and push on.

- Rabiyu and Sifrei -

Both judges listened to what Helios had to say to Henry, and both agreed with what the boy was saying.

"It will be done," Sifrei answered Henry, "We will look after her from now on."

Rabiyu watched as the Dreadnaught walked away, and she knew that the man was not right, not that she was either. She then looked at Helios and the sleeping Aura.

"I think that it is time for our report, Sifrei," Rabiyu said quietly, "His Majesty and the Tide Mother need to learn of the outcome of this battle."

Without another word the Elf walked to a secluded area away from the tents so they didn't stood in the way of the healers while they were doing their job. Sifrei watched Rabiyu go and he turned around to look at Helios.

"Make sure to call us if there is a change in Aura's condition," Sifrei said to Helios, "We will be over there for a little while."

The Archangel then followed the Elf who was now sitting on one of the rocks and had her eyes closed. Sifrei sighed and sat behind the Elf, at the same time the Elf leaned her back against Sifrei's.

- Divine City of Water: Heimdall - Lake Aelinistil -

Today had been an important day, it was the day for a group of children, well, not children anymore, to take the Woman's Ordeal, the whole group had succeeded and were now considered full grown women and ready to face life. There was a huge festival going on right now at the city to celebrate such an occasion, but the Tide Mother had excused herself for a moment to rest, she was currently standing near the water of the lake. The minutes passed without her really noticing at all, until multiple silhouettes began to appear behind her.

"Oh, oh! Is it over already?" Asteri, the young Water Fairy, said, "Did everyone passed?"

"Asteri, we are here for a more important matter," Khayal, the Werewolf, said as he turned his head towards the Elf and the Archangel, "Isn't that right, Eli? Sif?"

Eleven heads turned towards the last two silhouettes, those of Judge Magister Eliltari and Judge Sifrei.

"Oh? This better be good. It is strange for all of us to be present at the same time," Ciel, the Siren, said, " If that is the case then this must be about the situation between the Frostbearer and the Lord of Mystras, yes?"

Leviathan sighed, the past few weeks had been stressful to say the least, her dearest friend was going to war, and she was sad that Shiva couldn't allow the barrier to be undone.

"Eliltari, Sifrei, please give us your report on the current situation," Leviathan said, her voice as peaceful as ever, "What has happened that you felt the need to ask for a meeting."

Rabiyu was the first to step forwards and bow slightly.

"Your Grace, the first battle between Raiden of Mystras and Shiva of Kilkis Seres was won," Rabiyu said, "The Frostbearer was forced to retreat after the loss of a great number of her forces."

"As of right now, the Frostbearer has requested a meeting in private with Lord Raiden on neutral ground to discus terms of ending the war without any more bloodshed," Sifrei said while stepping forwards, "Lord Raiden is currently going to give orders to plan the next move."

"How cute, but do you think the Frostbearer is to be trusted?" Raishan, the Green Dragoness, said while smiling and looking at Rabiyu, "The daughter of late King Alexander kept the barrier all these years just because her father told her. Besides, do you really think the Frostbearer will be going alone? maybe this is part of a plan to kill Raiden while he is alone."

"While I share your concerns Lady Raishan, I also trust that Lord Raiden is capable to defend himself should the situation requires it," Rabiyu answered the Green Dragoness, which caused her smile to slowly fade, "mayhaps we will propose that he takes someone with him, just in case of such situation taking place."

The Tide mother was listening to the words of the Judges silently while also pondering what would be the current state of mind of her friend, was she alright? was she injured? There was no way to know.

"What is the exact number of death soldiers, Milady," Umbrasyl, the Black Dragon, said to Rabiyu, "If the forces of Kilkis Seres were forced to retreat then that must mean that their losses were rather important, correct? Perhaps I could take a couple of days to-"

"The bodies of both Mystras and Kilkis forces will be delivered to their families, Lord Umbrasyl," Sifrei said with a slight scowl on his face, "there is no need for you to waste your time to "gather" materials for your experiments."

The Black Dragon, currently in "human" form, focused on the Archangel and remained silent for a moment, he then once again looked forwards without saying another word.

"Tis a shame that such a situation is happening right now, but the Frostbearer must realize that keeping the barrier is hurting the world of humans," Valdra, the Spirit of Fire, secretly last of the Great Drakes, said calmly, "If the balance beetween the worlds is to be restored, then the barrier must be vanquished, either by the will of the Frostbearer or by an outside force. If the current situation is not corrected, the world of humans will perish, it is only a matter of time."

The five remaining judges looked at each other but didn't said anything, this gave Leviathan the chance to speak.

"Both Eliltari and Sifrei will keep an eye on the situation, should anything important were to happen tonight then we will be informed, keep your eyes open," Leviathan said, "for now this meeting is over. Lady Eliltari, Lord Sifrei, continue with your efforts to help Lord Raiden. For now, each one of you will return to your current assignments."

Leviathan bowed at all the judges and they did the same for her, each silhouettes began to fade one by one, and the Tide Mother began her way back to the festival, it was an important event for the new women in the city, after all.

"Time to party! Time to party!" yelled Asteri as she disappeared, "Time to dance!"

Most of the silhouettes were gone, but the silhouettes of dragon twins Raishan and Umbrasyl remained longer, keeping their eyes on the Magister and the Archangel for a time, before fading away. Now only Rabiyu and Sifrei remained.

"Why didn't you do it, Eliltari?" Sifrei asked, "I was sure you were going to ask the Tide Mother for-"

"It will be done, Sifrei," Raiyu answered, "I do not doubt that the Tide Mother will allow for the body of Aurion to be put to rest here."

Sifrei nodded and faded away, Rabiyu on the other hand looked towards the city for a few more seconds, her eyes slowly closed and the silhouette faded away.

Both Rabiyu and Sifrei opened their eyes, the grim scenes coming back.

"Well, I think we should look for Lord Raiden and see what's his plan," Sifrei said as he stood up, "Come on, let's go."

Sifrei offeres his hand to Rabiyu, she took it and stood up too.

"Let us search for him then, the meeting is only a few hours away," Rabiyu said, "Lord Raiden must be somewhere inside the tents."

The Elf and the Archangel once again went inside the tent to look for Raiden. Rabiyu looked at Helios and Aura on her way inside and Sifrei spotted Mariel among the crowd, but at this moment finding Raiden was more important.

--Queen Shiva -- Kilkis Seres Campgrounds--

Dawson took flight nearly as abruptly as he had arrived, leaving Shiva to her troubled thoughts of her comatose son.  The queen didn't have much time to linger on these disturbances, however, as her attention was quickly arrested by others needing her.  One being Eclaire.

The rose-haired woman fell to her knees, uttering final words of defeat before succumbing to her fatigue.  With a start, Shiva slid to the forest floor, catching Eclaire before she could collapse with a hard fall.  Gently tucking Eclaire's head under her chin and on her chest, she smoothed her bangs away from her pallid face.  She did not look well.

"Of course you haven't failed me," said Shiva tenderly, hand bracing Eclaire's head against her.   "The human king is but one object in this conflict.  His death alone wouldn't have resulted in the end of the war.  So long as there is hope the humans will proceed to fight, and right now that hope is Raiden.  Only once his resolve diminishes will this war end, though I do not foresee such an event happening without his death."

Shiva shifted so that her legs were along one side of her body, her knees sideways to accommodate the other woman on her lap.  She didn't know if Eclaire could hear her any longer, but she continued speaking regardless.  "Thank you for being my support and comfort through these difficult months.  I believe it was fate that brought us to meet, which I am forever grateful for.  Even if things were difficult, and perhaps not as they should have been, I am still grateful for the time that we have had together.  Thank you, Eclaire, for seeing this through.  For believing in me, even when no one else did."

The ice queen rose her head from the ground upon the approach of her enchanted armor friend.  For a moment it was as though they had lapsed back in time, Shiva the small, helpless child who craned her neck to look up imploringly at Maxis for guidance, for support. He declared that he needed to speak with her, to which she nodded.

"And I you."

She gingerly set Eclaire on the ground, lacing her fingers with Maxis' armored hand.  Something she used to do as a child, and something she hadn't done in an incredibly long time.  Leading them away to a more private area, the blue-haired queen turned to face the armor.

"What words do you have for me, Maxis?  Where do we stand?"

(I feel as though someone else had approached the queen, though I can't find the post or the character.  If I missed it, sorry, and please let me know and I'll edit my post.)

--Everyth Castanova -- Outskirts of Mystras' tents-- Encountering Henry--

"Well, well, it would seem the Dreadnaught lives."

Stepping from outside the shadow of a tree stood the familiar dark mage from the World Below.  Human, much like Henry, and yet, like Henry, so inhuman.  Everyth tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, her silver streak of hair contrasting against her otherwise dark wavy locks.

"I didn't expect any less from you, though for some reason I didn't expect us both to survive.  You look like you have seen better days, though.  What happened?  That big hunk of armor didn't find you, did he?"  She placed a finger on her lips, thinking back to how eager Maxis was to rip Henry apart limb from limb.  "I tried to stop him, but you could probably imagine how well that went over."

Her chest and torso were solely covered in bandages, and black trousers were heavily clad in bandages as well.  Her feet were bare on the blades of soft grass, her shoulders and arms exposed to the cool night air.  A soft smile played on her lips as she approached Henry, and for once her cocky and sarcastic demeanor was not worn.

"I am glad that you are alright."

--Curvis Sourati -- Leaving battlegrounds with Aqua--

The brunet cocked a brow at Aqua's resolve.  "Hide in the woods?  Alone?" he repeated.  Perhaps he were too acclimated to his own world, but any girl hiding in the woods alone didn't seem like a particularly good idea to him.  Even with her magic.

"I do have an idea, though perhaps a foolish one," he admitted.  "I . . . would like to meet your queen.  I feel that, if I may speak with her, I might be able to find a resolution of peace.  I do not want war.  I feel that we should return home, but I have gotten as far as I possibly could with my king and Lord Raiden.  Perhaps your queen would see things differently.  May I?  I mean, that is . . . would you introduce us?"

It was a risky move, and perhaps a death sentence, but Curvis had to at least try to make a difference in any way that he could.

--Yevgeni Malachite -- Kilkis Seres healer's tent--

The blond shrugged off healing when it was proffered to him.  His wounds were not great, and he didn't want to waste time in finding out where they stood in the current conflict.  His desire was to seek out Queen Shiva, but she was already tethered to that Retainer of hers and her enchanted armor friend.  Word spread quickly that she was planning to meet with Raiden alone that night, which likely wouldn't result in anything good.  Good things never happened when those two were alone.

Curiosity perhaps got the better of the blond, and despite his better judgment, he stole into the tent where the mysterious fighter had been whisked off to by a white mage.  There he found Nergal, though whether Nergal saw or recognized him remained to be seen.  Could he have solutions?  Would Yev truly be interested in his proposition?  He partly doubted it, but even still . . . he couldn't resist.

- Lord Raiden, Mystras, within a Healer Tent with Helios (and potential guests) -

Raiden glanced up from his melancholy to find what appeared to be a youth thanking him, a strange sight, but one who he quickly remembered.  This was one of the three that descended to the world below, the Helios that traveled with Ren.  He had escaped the clutches of Shiva, apparently, though the following news struck him hard in the stomach.  Ren . . . had died.  Could it have been that that corpse he passed by and recognised was Ren?  A cold shudder meandered up his spine at the thought, and before he could react or voice anything to the boy Helios scampered off in search of someone he recognised, leaving the ruler of Mystras alone once more.

Raiden decided not to follow, too deep in thought to ponder over who Helios ventured off to see.  The name Aura sounded familiar, but not so much as Ren.  The loss of the young scholar hit him hard.  Should the both of them have survived, he might have had Ren take over his studies when all was over, having much more to do than do research and planning when the peoples above and below were united.  Alas, such a thought was never meant to be.  This war had to end before many more were lost, much like Ren, and that meant he had to suck in his breath and keep calm.  The conversation with Shiva should mark the end of the war.  At least, so he hoped.

He felt the inside of a hidden pocket within his armour and relaxed at the feel of crisp paper.  The letter for Shiva's and his first rendezvous still lay close to his chest.  He prayed upon his lucky stars that this should all end peacefully and smiled wanly.  This deteriorating cycle of hostility needed to end, as the slow death of the world below needed to end.  Resolving the matter with the queen would be tricky, but he was assured that his resolve would never waver like hers did.

He scanned the area, activating search magic with a well-practised hand and locating only a few of those he sought out.  Mariel was here under the healers' trustworthy care, and Rabiyu and Alastor seemed in the area too, but what of his tactician Soren?  Did he fall in battle as well, much like Ren did?  No, that was unlikely from the battle-hardened individual.  He likely was somewhere else than this tent, though Raiden would not have guessed that he was on the other side of the battlefield.

Alastor seemed closer, so he walked a little closer to the man's direction to speak with him.  Three people -- Alastor, Rabiyu, and Soren -- were needed to communicate all of his plans should he not come back in time to lead his forces.  He preferred having a fourth be Mariel, but with her wounds he did not desire to bother her.  She should knit up just fine in the meantime.

((Rufus need not a post beyond acceptance and floating above the tents, and Raleigh is just recuperating.  That leaves Jari, and I am coming up blank with him, so I will work on a post for him at a later date.))

- Henry - The Dreadnought - Meeting Everyth -

'I brought this...'

'This was would've happened even without your interefence Henry.'

'Ever since I joined the army I helped at nothing but killing and furthering the death of innocents, and those undeserving'

'Henr-'

Inside Henry's mind both him and Ariana take form, mentally of course.

'All because of this blasted power, I thought I could be the hero for once. I thought I could stride over to this world and change things, I was wrong...again.'

Henry closes his hands into fists.

'ALL BECAUSE OF THIS' Henry's hands are engulfed in darkness, much to Ariana's surprise as he slams down into the non-existent ground, sending out a shockwave that materializes a burning village all around them.'

'What?!' Ariana spoke in surprise, as a dark sillhouette formed in the distance, walking towards them.

To be continued...

Henry was deep in thought, about himself and his motives, and what led him here. He soon found himself walking out of the tents and now close to some trees, taking in the fresh air, but before long he was approached by a familiar face.

Henry chuckled at her remarks. "Don't call me that..." Henry spoke softly in denial to her, the word Dreadnought, while an impressive title, was not one Henry wanted, ever. It was in fact his title back when he was a soldier under Alderon's rule after the experiments. The name Dreadnought served to do nothing but bring sadness and pain to him.

Henry turned to see Everyth, surprised at her wounds, but most importantly, her appearance, she looked...older...was this a side effect of her power? Henry could not tell.

Everyth then went on to comment about Maxis, and how she tried to stop him. "He did. He's the reason my chest is bandaged." Henry spoke rubbing his hand on the bandages, flinching from the sharp pain just touching it brought, even though the wound was slowly healing. "If It wasn't for my toughened skin I wouldn't be here." Henry spoke, sighing.

Henry smiled as Ariana expressed her happiness in seeing him. Henry moved a hand to her shoulder as a result. "So am I to see you alive. We've lost enough people already." Henry spoke, bringing forth an honest smile.

"You look...older. What happened?" Henry  asked her, a question he probably knew the answer to already.

'Why don't I have these crippling side effects?'

'You do have the spirit of a fey inside of you'

'How come you never healed my messed up arms then?'

'You never asked, I can get them healed in a few days if you want.'

- Maxis - The Armor - Reuniting with Shiva -

Meeting his beloved queen, not only did make Maxis forget that his armor was damaged, as it instantly repaired itself, but for once his hollow core felt...fullfiled, he felt...happy to see her, alive. To be with her...it was sad that he needed to be sealed every few years in order to keep his power at bay. Part of him hated the power, and another part of him adored it. And yet neither of them had any power over the mixed mentality that was Maxis.

All madness energy that Maxis had generated had dissipated, vanished as Shiva lacing her fingers on his hand. Maxis was speechless as Shiva led him to a private area.

Maxis stood quiet as Shiva asked him what he had to say to her. His words were very simple...

Maxis took a step forward and flat out hugged Shiva, with the biggest, warmful hug one could expect from a soulless armor. "Im so glad you're safe...I wanted to be there by your side but I could not..." Maxis spoke, his voice crackling, as if he was crying of happiness, and sadness at the same time.

"I heard you got into a fight with an archangel from one of the soldiers, im so glad you're ok....you're not hurt anywhere, are you?" Maxis spoke, as he began to examine Shiva up and down for any possible scratch she might've had.

A clone of Maxis materialized behind him, and poked him in the back. "You can let go of her now." The clone spoke. "Oh, right." The original Maxis spoke with a embarrassed laugh as he let go of Shiva. "I guess I should do a battle report. I found the human man who disrespected you a few weeks prior, I think his name was Henry. the so called "Dreadnought". He seems to be working for Raiden now...I greviously wounded him, but he got away. I think." Maxis spoke of his battle with Henry, with a shrug.

"He is not your normal human, obviously, but he is also not your normal augmented human either. There is something strange about him, the moment I delved into his mind, I felt the presence of not only him, but of another being within his mind. That presence was almost like that of a fey..." Maxis spoke of what he experienced during his mind delve into Henry's mind.

"So...you said you have something to tell me?" Maxis asked her. Letting Shiva get some words in.

--Everyth Castanova -- Campground outskirts with Henry--

"Oh, being modest, are we?" Everyth teased as Henry rejected the title of dreadnaught, but didn't press the issue further.  He seemed a bit defensive about it, and this seemed like one of those moments to embrace rather than to argue.  A rarity for her.

Everyth's violet eyes moved toward Henry's bandaged chest, wincing slightly as Henry reacted to the pain upon touching it.  "It looks like he certainly got you good, but you made it.  Like I knew you would."  Her thoughts drifted back on to Maxis, raising a hand to rub her temple.  "It's funny, though, how does one destroy a living suit of armor?  I tried everything in my book, but every time I managed to take him apart he'd just simply put himself back together again as though nothing happened."

It bothered her tremendously, fighting opponents who could not be killed, but at least she was equipped with knowledge the next time she faced down an enchanted suit of armor.  If that ever occurred in her lifetime.

Henry pointed out that she had aged, to which she gave a hollow, humorless laugh.  "Oh, that?  It's nothing.  It isn't the first time that the use of my magic has backfired.  While the augmentation gifted me with magic, it has also cursed me with rapid aging.  I . . . exerted myself to the limit, perhaps too far, and this is what I must endure as a result."

She tucked back a lock of hair, including the silver streak, trying to give Henry a pleasant smile without being plagued by sadness.  It didn't bring her particular joy that she would age ten years just by the use of her magic, and at the mere age of eighteen she already had the physical appearance of someone in their thirties, at least, and who knew how much her insides were worn.  Her life would undoubtedly be cut short, but she didn't like to think about that.

"So, Henry," Everyth asked suddenly, voice soft, eyes fixated on him in the starry night.  "What are your plans, once this is all over and we survive?  Do you have a home to go back to?  People you love?"

She realized that, after their fights, witty remarks, and quarrels that she really didn't know much about him.  He'd been a mysterious member of Alderon's court long ago, augmented like her and yet so different.  But she knew next to nothing about his story.  Suddenly she wanted to know, for reasons unbeknownst to her.

--Queen Shiva -- Kilkis Seres campgrounds: private area with Maxis--

The queen's eyes widened as Maxis took her into his embrace.  While only steel touched her flesh, she was still warmed by the gesture.  She carefully wrapped her arms around him in return, resting her head upon his armored chest.  After everything she had witnessed that day on the battlefield, this hug was really something that she needed.

"I'm fine, Maxis, truly," said Shiva, trying to hide the burn marks on her arm that she'd acquired from Mariel.  "What about you?  It looks like someone really tried to do you in.  Is the damage easily mendable?"  She admittedly didn't know much when it came to recovering damage upon his enchanted suit of armor, so phrasing his healing took a bit of effort on her part.

It made Shiva shudder to think of Henry alive, well, and on Raiden's side.  The other humans didn't concern her.  Heck, even other augmented humans didn't pose as great of a threat to her.  Something was quite unnerving about Henry in particular to the ice queen.  She didn't trust him, nor did she know what he was capable of.  She'd hoped that he'd fallen, or that he never made it to Raiden's army, and yet here he was.  She clasped her pale hands in front of her, nodding as Maxis gave his report.

"I understand.  You did everything that you could do, and I would expect nothing more.  Thank you for your efforts, Maxis.  Right now Raiden and the human king are our main focuses anyway, even if I fear Henry to be a grave threat."  The thought of another soul possessing Henry concerned the queen as well, though she couldn't fathom how that came to be, or whom this individual could be.

She bowed her head low, pale locks falling over her face and shoulder.

"Maxis, I fear that you will be upset with me," she began slowly, hanging her head like a child.  "But . . . .  I'm going to Odin again.  I need to see him.  To speak with him.  I won't allow anymore souls to lay down their lives for me while following a dream that is not my own.  I intend to end things tonight, one way or another.  I hope that you will understand."

Whether Maxis would be accepting of her departure mattered little to her, but she felt obliged to tell him.  She owed him at least that much.

- Henry - The Dreadnought - Chat with Everyth -

Henry chuckled at Everyth's remarks, about his modesty especially. "Not modesty..." Henry muttered, mostly to himself. Everyth then went on to speak about Maxis and the armor that was Maxis, the unstoppable trickster that the man was. Which caused Henry to ponder a bit about it as well. As he didn't exactly know the answer either.

"I wasn't able to take him down." Henry commented, with a tone of frustration in his voice. "Much like you,  every time I tore him apart he reatached and put himself back together like nothing happened. Though I noticed that each time, it took a bit longer for him to put himself back together." Henry spoke, and quickly sighing. "Don't know if you can kill him in any way short of an exorcism." Henry gave Everyth a piece of his mind, whether this was truthful, or even useful, remained to be seen in future encounters.

Henry stood quiet and listened as Everyth spoke of her power's side effects. Which caused Henry to chuckle a bit, in a bit of dark humor. "So you got side effects too? I thought they were improving the experiments. Guess not much improvement was made." Henry spoke with a sarcastic tone, but he did not wish to insult Everyth.

Then came the million dollar, or gold pieces, question. What would he do after this was all over? What could he do? This question was not easy to answer for him, as he did not know what he wanted even at the present, how would he know what he wanted in the future? "I never really thought about that."

"Well. For one, if Raiden goes back on his word, i'l probably be inprisioned by the queen or Raiden's soldiers. Or i'l be given to Alderon by them." Henry sighed, "I'l escape, sure. But things will go back the way they were for me, and you. We'l be enemies again." Henry spoke, his expression that of sorrow and despair. "I know its cynical to say so. But they won't have any use for me after all of this. At least not alive." a moment of silence prevailed for a second. "If he does keep true, however. I'l get to go free...probably live a quiet life, sleep myself to death." Henry stopped.

"My home...and everyone I've ever loved are gone. Thats the short version..." Henry's voice cracked as he spoke this phrase, clearly it was hard for him to talk about himself. Especially with his traumatic life. Henry held out a small pendant from his chest. A pendant with a small, white crystal in it. It shined brightly in the moonlight. It was quite pretty. "This is the only memento of my past life that I have..."

"Mind if I ask you something?" Henry asked Everyth while slowly turning his gaze towards her, looking her straight in the eye "What did they say about me? About why I left, and what I am guilty of?" Henry asked Everyth, these questions were plaguing for a while, he wanted to debunk everything they said about him, since he was his own judge.

- Alastor - The Storm - Reuniting with Raiden -

As Raiden walked, towards Alastor's supposed direction, Alastor quickly materialized in a spark of lightning a few meters beside the Mystrian lord. "Greetings Raiden." Alastor spoke, nodding his head, without his helmet on this time. He had thrown the helmet out a while ago, since it was broken.

"Im sure you wish to speak to me." Alastor spoke, "I can read it in your aura." Alastor spoke with a dry smile on his expression as he walked over to Raiden. "I was sorely disappointed by the Seres's troops, me, the elf and the human destroyed their defenses and took our their healers, as well as holding out and keeping their officers busy, this drove the flank into disarray." Alastor reported his exploits to Raiden with a proud tone.

"The elf handled herself very well, and the human was...amusing to see." Alastor continued. "Either way...im sure you wish to speak..." Alastor spoke, allowing Raiden to speak what he had to.

- Maxis - The Armor - Talking with Shiva -

Maxis shrugged as Shiva mentioned Henry. "Gave him a pretty nasty beating, he comes back. i'l just beat him again." Maxis cockily responded, crossing his arms, trying to look tough. His damage pieces of armor were slowly repairing themselves, his injuries, or lack therof were of no worries. After all you'd need to bring you A game to take down a living armor.

Maxis was happy, like a little puppy as Shiva thanked him for his efforts and reports though, he could not hide that. Even the multiple personalities within his demented mind were all full of glee.

However the next bit of news crushed whatever happiness Maxis had shown, hell. one of his arms even fell off with a loud metal thud as it hit the ground, as he stood there, stunned.

A moment of silence followed, as Maxis was quiet. He looked down, after a few moments, he brough a hand...the one that didn't fall off, to Shiva's cheek, caressing it.

"I could never be upset at you, you're my family, and I will never be mad at you." Maxis spoke, with a comforting and supportive tone. "I can't stop you from going, even if I do not wish for you to go alone. I promised you i'd guide you, but not control you. After all." Maxis spoke, letting go of her cheek as he proceeded to pick his other arm from the ground, very non chalantly. More annoyed at it more than anything.

"My only demand is that...you call for help if things get troublesome, our seal binds us together. All you need is think of me, and i'l be there for you. Promise me that..." Maxis spoke to shiva, trying to sound serious and dramatic, if it wasn't for him holding his arm it would've worked.

~ Aqua: Speaking to Curvis~

Aqua nodded lightly. “We can certainly try.”She seemed to hesitate before adding “ I don’t have any power over her, however, she might still see reason, She’s not evil, just misguided and afraid.”  To be honest she hadn’t even thought of that as a possible option and she doubted it would work. That wouldn’t stop Aqua from trying.

She quickly climbed upon the horse. “Climb on, but I warn you I’m not at all skilled with horses. I know how to steer and guide one, no more. We should hurry as well.” Aqua stated lightly. She wasn’t planning on rushing, however, she knew that being slow would lose them the chance to reason with Queen Shiva at all. Not that Aqua thought that they even get the chance to do so. It was at least worth trying for Curvis’ sake.

- Rabiyu and Sifrei - With Raiden and Alastor -

"To hear such words from you, Master Alastor, I'm humbled," Rabiyu said as she got closer to Raiden and Alastor, "allow me to say that your fight against the Herald of Winter and the other strange individual was quite fascinating. As for the human, well, he is indeed quite something. Yet, what that "something" is, is still is to be decided."
Sifrei looked behind him then back at the group in front of him.
"And yet there is a heavy burden in his heart right now," Sifrei said, mostly to Rabiyu, "he needs time to recover, both physicaly and mentaly."
The Northern Elf looked directly at the Lord of Mystras, he seemed tired, but not physical fatigue, maybe emotionally drained was the term she was looking for.
"I noticed the lack of Master Monroe's presence. Did he fell in battle, maybe?" she said while looking at Raiden, "Or perhaps he is in one of the other tents? If what Sifrei said is correct then Your Lordship must give orders after such request by the Frostbearer. What are we to do, Your Lordship? Or should we wait until Master Monroe choose to grace us with his presence?"

- Helios - Side: Mystras Rebellion - Healer Tents - With Aura -

"What are you doing here?" Little Helios asks, smiling down from his window, his voice barely a whisper. Despite the late hours, he had company. A small pack of wolf cubs, no older than weeks, stood by his window, looking up at him curiously. "Are you hungry?" Helios asked. He was no stranger to animals. He could speak with them, after all. He picked up a bowl of fruit from his desk, bringing it over to the window before spilling its contents, fruit falling to the ground with loud thumps. The cubs sniffed, eagerly taking bites of the fruits without much hesitation. Helios watched them, pleased to see them happy. They whined, wagging their tails. "Play?" Helios asked. "But it's late, momma said not to go out at night." Helios murmured. The pack seemed to understand, turning to walk away. Yet Helios couldn't contain himself, his curiosity now roused away from slumber. "Wait for me!" Helios whispered, climbing out of his window, jumping right off. As he landed on the ground, his body morphed, transforming into a white wolf cub to similar stature of the rest. The cubs were delighted, running into the forest, Helios right behind them. It wouldn't be long. Just to play a little while as all. They ran, crushing leaves beneath their paws as they playfully chased each other. As they traversed deeper, the sound of crunching twigs brought their attention. Before they knew it, a large figure towered over the group, blocking the moonlight from their reach. As Helios looked up, he found himself short of breath. The wolf stood as large as a lion, staring down at Helios as she towered him like a mountain. Her eyes were sharp, glowing yellow with her pupils in a slit. "(Amarok)" Helios had never seen a creature so big. He took a few steps back, the hair on his body standing up in fear. The other cubs heeded no mind, hurrying over to the wolf's side, rubbing against their mother as only a child would. It seemed like forever before she moved, turning as she wrapped her tail around him. "Come." She asked, her voice soft despite her fearsome appearance. With no hesitation, and no fear any longer, he went.

"Do you know of the circle of life?" She asked, leading Helios along. "When we are born, we then die, and something else is born." Helios explained, the best he could remember. "That is correct, in a way. For every death, there is a life, and for every life, there is a death." Amarok spoke. "It is a vicious circle that to stop it, would alter the world as we know it. Would break it. The sun and water grows the plants to which the herbivores eat. The herbivores grow fat for the carnivores to eat. The carnivores die for the carrion to eat. Our bones turn to dust, in order to provide nourishment for the plants to grow. And just like that, the cycle begins again." Amarok explained, taking a pause as she sat by a stream. Helios looked down, seeing a few fishes swim by. "Why all this?" He asked. "You are not one of us." She began. "You are...more than carnivore. A Fey, as you call yourselves. You are at the top of the cycle. And yet...your kind acts as lowly as any of us. You hunt for sport, not for food or need. You fight wars out of pettiness instead of survival. You kill each other out of spite, not out of honor. It is...a waste." She explained. Helios looked up. "You are able to speak and see the world through our eyes." Amarok lowered her head, pressing her nuzzle against Helios' head. "Allow me to show you. To teach you to teach them. For if your kind brings itself to extinction through senseless slaughter...were you truly a miracle, or a mistake?"

...

"Helios, what are you doing?!" His mother pulled him back, getting in between him and the older Fey. In Helios' hands, the body of a Jackalope. From the looks of it, Helios had punched the man hard enough to given him a nosebleed. "He poisoned them!" Helios screamed, the young child shaking in anger, yet holding the body almost like a child. "He poisoned their food supply!" "They were getting into my crops!" "It's their habitat! It's their home too!" "Enough!" Helios' mother insisted, turning to the older fey. "My deepest apologies. He has never lashed out like this to anyone." She explained, quickly turning on her heels before gripping Helios by the arm, dragging him away from the conflict. Once they were far away enough, his mother flew into an understandable rage. "Helios, what are you thinking of punching him?!" "He poisoned them, mom!" Helios insisted, almost pushing the body in his hands towards her. "Helios." She growled. "It's his property. He can do whatever he wishes in it. If the Jackalopes were getting into his crops, he has a right to defend them." "By killing them?!" "Helios you have to understand that not everyone is like you! Not everyone can talk to a completely different species and solve it with a conversation! It's the progress of civilization, Helios! In order to survive we adapt, even if it means by such distasteful means! Once the Jackalopes see what happened they will move on-!" "At the cost of their babies?!" "One can't save every single life. It is impossible, Helios! If we don't kill animals, we don't get to eat meat. If we don't push away animals from our crops, we don't get to eat our fruits and vegetables. Whether you want to admit it or not, you are a Fey, living in a civilization of Fey. You have to grow up and face the facts that not everything can be as harmonic as you think it to be. It can't happen. It will never happen." Helios didn't have anything to say back to that, instead looking down as he cradled the little animals in his arms. His mother sighed, kneeling down to face him at his level. "Helios. You have a heart of gold. The way you care for the lives of these creatures, regardless how small is a quality that is one in a million. But if you keep this up, you won't be able to survive. You won't be able to live. You have to realize there are limits to what you can do. That the world cannot turn around your thoughts. Otherwise it wouldn't be as diverse or as beautiful as it is now, would it?" Helios shook his head. "You'll understand better when you get older. But you have to understand that there is a limit to what you can do. You can't save everyone. You will eventually have to decide which ones you will save, and which ones you will let go."

...

"Things are going to hell." A man spoke. Helios perked his ears up. He sat by a bar at the Inn with Ren and Ariana, but the conversation being held by the two men caught his attention. "May I ask why you think of it that way?" Helios asked. One of them scoffed. "You don't get out much, do you kid?" He said, before the other man nudging him in a scolding way. "The farmlands are becoming infertile. Years after years they would provide with enough crops to sustain the people. But they're beginning to dry up. From what I hear, they've tried everything, and nothing's working." He explained. "What's worse, farmers who have given up on their lands are rushing back into the cities with their families, which means more mouths to feed in a much more cramped space." The man groaned. "That's...horrible." Helios hummed. "Rumors are spreading that there might be another war over fertile territory soon." "Thank goodness I ain't a knight then!" Helios blinked a few times, simply nodding as he listened in. "The animals are disappearing too...or dying in large groups." "Did you hear about that man who killed his family last week? He kept rambling that it was the end of the world, that it was better for his family to die now than to suffer later on." "Oh gods help us." Helios gripped the fabric of his clothing tight, gritting his teeth as he narrowed his eyes. "(It's...odd. But...it's the cycle of life...isn't it? It has to be...It has to be...everything that is born has to die eventually.)" Helios thought, trying to make something out of the rumors that now haunted his mind. Suddenly the Inn became all too quiet as a group of knights walked right in, heading straight to the bar. "Excuse us." One of them said, having Helios lift his gaze. "You must be the three strangers we have been hearing about. Feys, right? Well, we came here to inform you that you have all been formally invited by King Alderon to the castle. He very much wishes to make your acquaintances." The knight said, giving a bow.

"(And for everything that dies, something is born in return.)"

Helios frowned, looking at Aura as he moved some of her hair away from her eyes. "(I'm sorry that Aurion is gone, Aura.)" Helios thought, looking up around the tent. "(But out of his sacrifice, freedom for your world from this barrier will be born. From his death, and the death of every single being in this war. I can't save everyone. But I'll be dammed if I can't save those who I have chosen to fight for.)" Helios stood momentarily, hearing a familiar chirp. From the walking in and out of the tents, in a small space in between, a familiar small bird flew right in, landing on Helios' hand as he outstretched it for it. He pulled it over, right by his ear. The carrion are beginning to arrive. It chirped. They are drooling over the corpses of war. The Dragonkin mourn of the loss of another fire. The Spriggans weep at the taste of blood on the Earth. Helios frowned. This was long from over.
