As Wulfric growled her name, Aya turned, met with the knife of Alexander and the attack Wulfric enforced, protecting her with his self.

After Alexander yelled out in the cemetery, Aya froze, almost shaking. The knife point to Aya as Alexander began his mockery, Aya scooting back as Alexander got closer and closer. Alexander was treating her no better than her uncle did.

"I am not damned!" Aya suddenly yelled, standing up as her parents graves were right behind her.

"I am the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth Everus, and was loved by them till their dying day." She held her defenses strong.

"I know how many Veran and I have killed...but we have also saved. Would you have rather Samael be killed by himself slowly, or have had a quick death?!" Aya practicality screamed the last part at him.

"You two never deserved it. But Humans are complicated creatures and the most unfortunate things happen to them." Veran finally approached, placing his hand on Aya's shoulder as her breath was heavy.

"Humans are also slow and should never wait to take a chance." The demon responded to Alexander's last sob, Aya pulling herself away from Veran and to Wulfric, slowly cleaning his face off with her handkerchief.

"Do you have any further temper tantrums you would like to display." The demon's tone was low, his red eyes cutting at Alexander.

Aya could not stop shaking as she began to apologize over and over again to Wulfric, Veran leaving the small group alone. Alexander was reminding herself way to much of her uncle, and Veran was too terrifying to be around anyways.

Alexander scoffed, glaring at Veran with no sympathy, or fear for that matter. It was as if Samael's death had simply taken away any worries for his own well being. Because there was no one left for him to watch over for. "Don't you dare pity me, demon. You are the reason all of this happened in the first place." Alexander hissed. In a way, it was true. Had Veran not made that contract with Aya, they wouldn't be here right now. Any of them. His eyes kept glaring at Aya. "Samael was all I had left. If there was someone that should have given him mercy...it should have been ME!" Alexander screamed, gripping the knife to the point of causing bruises to his hand. It wasn't just anger. It wasn't just sadness...it was jealousy. "But of course, it wasn't that way..." He sneered. "Because he chose you...because he loved you more." Alexander said, not once hiding his hatred. He was on full display. Wulfric hummed at Aya, reassuring her to not worry about the wound. Alexander stepped forward, causing Lazarus and Wulfric to tense up again. However, as Alexander raised the knife, he instead brought it down on one of the tombstones, stabbing it right into the stone. "Samael loved you, and because he did, I spare you once. But if I ever see you near Samael's grave ever again...there is no place in hell you will be safe in, Aya." Alexander said, the expression on his eyes that of a heartbroken man, his voice breaking as it turned into a whisper. With that said, he turned away, making his way to Samael's grave, like guard dog of his own accord, watching over his master even beyond death. Lazarus gently rubbed Aya's shoulders. "We should head back, Aya. It's getting dark." Lazarus insisted. Wulfric agreed on the suggestion.

As soon as Alexander left to the grave, Veran was in front of the man's face within the blink of an eye, the knife that was previously in Alexander's hands now on the ground. Veran clenched his teeth as he criticized Aya for falling in love with Samael, Veran picking Alexander up by the neck, holding him in the air and staring at him.

"Veran stop it!" Aya suddenly yelled out to Veran, he throwing Alexander to the ground after Aya's plea.

"My master can love whomever she wants. You will not mock her as she has suffered enough pain like you have. If you want to suffer more pain, I encourage you to go on, but if you were truly smart, you would take sense to shut your mouth now."  Veran growled at Alexander, stepping away to the servants and Aya.

"We are leaving. Nothing will come by sitting around all day." the demon helped Wulfric up, Aya standing up.

The group walked solemly to the manor once more, and the day soon ended. Wulfric was healed up by Lazarus, and Aya was forced asleep by Veran once more.

With the master asleep, Veran could work on his own accord, finishing tyding up the house, and then preparing for Lucifer's attack, as he knew it was coming...and it was coming for him.

-The Next Day -

Now, you would think that hell would give them all a day to catch up and rest. Well, hell wasn't feeling like it today. They woke up to the loud sound of a shofar, playing a single, long note so loud, it shook the earth. As they woke up, they would take a look outside only to see that the usual blue sky had turned blood red, and the white clouds had turned black as ash. In the middle of the city, above in the sky, clouds of darkness swirled in circles, creating a type of portal that glowed red on the inside, the loud sounds of the shofar coming from inside of it. Lazarus ran across the halls, entering Aya's room without knocking. "Aya!" Wulfric began, panting. "You need to come to the front of the manor; they're all here!" Wulfric said, his eyes wide. On the outside, in front of Aya's manor, a small army stood in the front yard of the property, familiar faces all around. Antonio, Arturo, Marco and their pirate crews, Jane and the Boogeyman, dozens of werewolves and werecats, even some grim reapers, including Gigermo and Nikolai, all of them waiting for Aya to step out. "Aya! Are you awake yet?! Don't tell me you're going to sleep through the apocalypse?!" Antonio joked, smirking as he did. Lazarus watched stunned. "What are you all doing here?" He asked, the door wide open as he watched from the doorway. "Isn't it obvious?" Jane asked, Gigermo stepping up. "We're here to stop the apocalypse!"

Veran stood behind Lazarus and Wulfric, entering his masters room as Aya sat up, looking out her window.

"Why is this happening? Didn't we get rid of the horsemen?" Aya threw her covers off, and rushing to the changing screen she had in her room, already pulling off her nightgown as Veran helped her quickly change, him wrapping her eyepatch around her eye before Aya stormed out of the room and outside, followed by Veran and the other two.

Stepping outside, Aya was shocked. It was much scarier than she thought it would have been. She then turned her eyes to the people here. Jane, The Boogeyman, The Pirate Crew, Catarina and the Werecats and Werewolves, and a small bunch of reapers consisting of Charlotte, Gigermo, Nikolai, and one she has not seen before...nor could she get a good view of the other reaper either.

"E-Everyone...we defeated the horsemen...why is this still happening then?" she stuttered to herself, then approaching the pirates, softly hugging Antonio and Arturo before looking up at them.

"Do you know what we should do? You were the one who made us aware of this issue...or should I be asking you, Nikolai?" Aya turned her head to Nikolai who was headed her way.

"I don't think that this is a problem that can be solved above ground..." Veran cursed to himself, knowing that this was all Lucifers doing.

Antonio and Arturo didn't hesitate to hug Aya, Antonio rubbing Aya's head softly. "We're all as surprised as you were." Arturo admitted. Marco, who was standing next to Antonio, piped up. "When we saw the sky turn red we came right to shore! It was on our way here we found the rest of these people." Marco said as he used his thumb to point at the rest of the group. "Even with the Horsemen gone, the apocalypse has instead advanced in it date." The Werecat elder hissed, looking around at the group. "It should not be long before demons begin to pour from the portal. We must be prepared to fight...if we can even win a war against an endless amount of demons." The Werewolf elder spoke, looking over at his grandson Wulfric, who was rubbing his head against his fur. "The only reason I can see this happening, is that the lead demon has made a wager with god." The Boogeyman spoke. Jane looked up at the Boogeyman, a confused expression on her face. "A wager with god?! Is that even possible?!" Jane asked, sounding rather annoyed at the possibility. Nikolai scoffed. "Trust me, if there is anything God loves, it's a good wager. Whatever Lucifer has offered, it must've been pretty good for God to have given permission to open the gates for the demons." Nikolai said. "The only way we can stop this, it seems, is to stop the source...which means we have to literally fight Lucifer." Gigermo suggested. And just like that, all eyes fell on Veran. "Well!" Marco said with a small smile. "Seeing you're the only demon around, I think you're the one who will have to go stop him, Veran!" Marco said with a nervous chuckle. "There you go! Taking the spotlight again, Veran!" Arturo complained, though it made Antonio laugh. "Then we have no time to waste, a new voice spoke. The werewolves stepped out of the way to make way for the new Grim Reaper that made his way to the front where Veran stood, only to reveal a familiar Alexander...with chartreuse phosphorescent eyes.

Alexander just sat there for a while. He watched as Veran walked off, the rest of them following as they retreated away, eventually losing sight of them in the distance. He stood quiet for a few moments, before letting out a heart wrenching sob escape his lips. He stumbled onto his feet, picking up the knife on the floor before stepping back to Samael's grave. Once there, he imply dropped, and allowed himself to cry. He cried until his body ached, until his throat was sore, until he was left with no more tears to cry out. Even as the night came, and the temperatures dropped with merciless wind, Alexander did not move. Instead he sat on Samael's grave, allowing all of his senses to go numb. It wasn't until hours before sunrise that he finally moved, only to pick up the knife. He had failed. He had broken the promise that he had made to Samael's mother, and to himself. He had nothing left to go back to. He knew nothing else, nothing but to serve, and yet...he ached to think of serving anyone else besides Samael. Veran, a demon with no heart or sympathy, had done better, and there was nothing he could possibly do to make amends. Except...maybe to see him again-

"Are you sure you want to do this?"

Alexander snapped his head forward, looking up at a familiar figure, his eyes glowing in the night. "...Gigermo?" Alexander asked, his voice barely a whisper. Gigermo did not fret. "If you decide to do this, you won't be able to see him. Instead, you will become like me." Gigermo said, extending his arms. "Grim Reapers, are the result of those who take their lives into their own hands. Who take their own lives away. Because we did not follow the rules of our appointed death, we are forced to live on, even if our hearts don't beat, and we do not bleed." Gigermo explained. "Is that what you want?" Alexander paused, before looking down, scoffing. "...there isn't anything left for me in this world." Alexander hummed, looking down. "Samael...was all I ever had. I was for sure that one day I would go before him...not the other way around." Alexander looked up. "I don't know of anything else. I only know to serve...and yet my mind and body refuse to serve no other." He chuckled. "...There is no place in this world for me." "Would Samael have wanted this?" Gigermo finally asked. Alexander paused, taking out the crumpled letter from his pocket. A letter, from Samael to him. It was long, and detailed, and spoke of no one to blame, not even him. Yet the one phrase that he repeated to himself over and over again was... " 'Go on. Be great'." Alexander read. "I cannot do great in this world. There is no place for someone like me...someone as broken, as messed up, as intolerable like me." Alexander sighed. "I only lived...because Samael and his mother allowed it." Alexander gripped the letter tightly, before looking down at the knife. "But maybe, as one of you, I can possibly do great?" Alexander looked up at Gigermo. "I have not earned my way to be with Samael in this life...but I can make amends in the other." Alexander insisted. Gigermo stared, before sighing, and throwing something at Alexander's lap. "Then use this. It's faster." Gigermo said. Alexander picked it up. A revolver, with a single bullet. "If you are willing to make amends in the next life...then I cannot stop you. But I will warn you, it will be tough...you might not see Samael...for a long time." Gigermo warned. Alexander picked up the revolver and frowned, gripping its hilt. "And you think waiting here is any better?" Alexander asked, raising it to his temple. "There is no place for me in this world...but maybe...I'll be able to find one in the next." He told himself, memories flashing through his mind. And just like that, there was no regret, and no going back, as Alexander closed his eyes and pulled the trigger. By the time he opened his eyes, he could still hear the echo of the gun. He stood in front of Gigermo for a moment, before looking back. There sat his body, without life, without a soul, holding the gun in his hand, his eyes closed. The worst part of it all was something he didn't know until he saw it himself; a morbid smile on his face. "Welcome to the afterlife." Gigermo said, smiling a bit. "I'll have Nikolai come help with the body, but you mister, will have to come with me." Gigermo said. "Where...will you be taking me?" "Well, usually we have to take you to HQ...but we're going to need you in a few hours. You think you can handle fighting a few demons your few first hours in?" Gigermo asked. Alexander paused, and then smirked, his eyes glowing a familiar florescent green.

"Pissing off demons is my specialty."

Alexander stared at Veran in the eyes, then at Aya, before turning around to face the group. "We have to get these two to the Gate of Hell. We have to protect the city and give them enough time to bring a stop to it." Alexander spoke, beginning to bark out orders, as he once did as the head butler of the Pandora Household. "We will spread out across the city and prepare to protect the citizens from the demons once they begin to pour out. Pirates, you have your ships near shore, do you not? If your aim is good, we can use the cannons to shoot down demons." Alexander suggested, Marco piped up. "Oh we can totally do that!" Marco said, he looked at his brother. "I'll take some of our men and get the ships ready to fire." Marco offered. Antonio clapped his hands. "Then Arturo and I will remain here and help with the safety of the city." Antonio said. "Lazarus and I will help with the city as well." Wulfric offered. "Nikolai, you have a way to get there?" Alexander asked. "I..." Nikolai paused, biting his bottom lip. "I do." "Then you're in charge of getting them there." Alexander said, waving at the rest. "Get going!" And just like that, everyone began to scatter, running off to cover the city. Alexander looked back at Veran, and then at Aya. "Don't let Samael's death to be in vain." And with that, Alexander ran off. Nikolai nodded, looking at Veran. "Get yourself ready...we're leaving to Hell."

"Lucifer made a waiver with God?? Why though..." Aya wondered as the new grim reaper spoke up.

The werecats and werewolves made room for the reaper to pass....and this reaper...was none other than Alexander Howle. Both Aya and Veran's breath stopped for a moment, Veran taking a step forwards.

"A-Alexander...?" Aya asked in a silent voice before she was stopped by his sudden orders, not really even being able to comprehend anything that was happening. There was little time to say anything before everyone had run off, Alexander, Nikolai, Aya and Veran being the only ones in front of the manor. Alexander had one thing to tell the two.

"Don't let Samael's death be in vain."

Aya nodded to Alexander without a word, swallowing hard.

"Let's get ready." Aya alerted Veran, who gave a nod to her.

Veran brought Aya down to his room, opening the closet. Along the closet, there were dozens of guns, Veran placing as much onto his belt as he possibly could as Aya just stared at them.

"Where did you get these?" she asked.
"I have a lot of time at night." he admit, beginning to place barrels of extra bullets into his coat pockets.

"Are those bullets going to work?" Aya then asked.

"You may not believe me, but I made salt bullets. There is a reason why your food doesn't have a lot of salt in it, and that is because it hurts us demons terribly. Run to the garden and grab some sage, you will need it more than I will. I will have your gun ready in a second." Veran instructed.

Aya almost burst out laughing. Salt. Salt caused demons pain.

Before long, Aya and Veran were ready, Veran loaded and Aya with two handguns in her jacket pockets, sage in her breast pocket.

"We have no idea what we are getting ourselves into..." Veran admits as he approached Nikolai.

"We are as ready as we will ever be...." Aya muttered, actually rather fearful of what is to come.

Nikolai nodded, gesturing to the horse carriage. "Let's hurry." Nikolai said, climbing to the driver's seat. They had to get to the portal, and that would take them directly to Hell. Once they were on, Nikolai whipped the reins, having the horses run off into the city. As they entered the city, heading to the center, the sound of a shofar emerged from the portal, shaking the world beneath. Nikolai's eyes widened as he looked up. "They're here." Nikolai spoke. From the portal, figures began to fall, atrocities of all kind falling towards the earth with smile on their faces. Some had wings to fly out, while others simply crashed to the world beneath with a ground shattering thud. Inhuman roars echoed across the sky. The demons had arrived. Just as they did, the group began their attack. The moment the demons reached the city, they were encountered by werewolves, werecats, pirates, and Grim Reapers, all ready to fight them and attempt to do the impossible; stop the apocalypse. Neither side hesitated as they charged forward. Werewolves and werecats transformed, tackling demons down with their teeth and claws. Pirates fought on the ground and shot at the demons in the sky, all while the people of London ran around frantically, screaming and searching for safety from the chaos. It was a hell all on its own. Nikolai struggled as he did sharp turns across the streets, avoiding the running people and the fighting demons, all while trying to outrun those that had decided to follow. A few demons flew right besides the carriage, reaching out for it. Nikolai turned to face it, and with the flick of his wrist his whip appeared in his hand before he wrapped it around the demon. As they did a turn, Nikolai whipped the demon across, dragging him into the walls of buildings and the floors, before eventually launching him into the nearest wall, to which the demon flew right through. "I'm deserving a vacation after this." Nikolai hummed, looking up as they rode rigth underneath the portal, Nikolai pulling the reins of the horses. "Now-" Nikolai said, but was interrupted by a demon slamming itself into the carriage, pushing the carriage to the side and sending it sliding a few feet as the horses ran off. Nikolai rolled on the floor, barely dodging the carriage from falling on him. He grunted, quickly pushing himself up with a wince of pain. He turned to the carriage; Veran and Aya were inside. "Veran, Aya!" Nikolai called, only for his attention to be diverted to the demon again, which on all fours, rammed into Nikolai, using its horns to stab him and pin him right against the concrete floor. Nikolai gasped in pain, blood escaping his lips as he struggled to get a hold of his whip. Before the demon could cause anymore damage, however, a familiar werewolf tackled the demon down, growling as it bit down on its neck and began to shake it wildly, snapping its neck before throwing it to the side, onto the nearest rubble. "Wulfric!" Nikolai stood up. He paused, looking at Aya and Veran, then at Wulfric as the Boogeyman ran up. "Is everything alright?!" "We're alive." Nikolai hold his side. Wulfric ripped the door of the carriage, and allowed Veran and Aya out. "We need to get them up there." Nikolai said. "I'll do it." The Boogeyman nodded, hurrying over to Veran and Aya, holding them both close to him in a tight grip. "Keep still." He asked, and just as suddenly, a pair of large, black wings emerged from his back.  Nikolai's eyes widened. "You-!" The Boogeyman smiled under his mask. "Not all of God's angels are bad, Nikolai." And just like that, he took off into the sky, carrying Veran and Aya with him. He dodged the demons, avoiding them even as they gave chase and others reached at them as they fell. "Veran, Aya, we don't know how long we can keep this up." The Boogeyman admitted. He looked at the two of them. "You're our last hope." And like that, the Boogeyman threw the two of them into the portal above, the two disappearing into it. The fate of the world, was in their hands.

Nikolai's carriage ran quickly through London, Veran opening the window as Aya held onto him, making sure not to fall, as the ride was bumpy, and way too fast. Veran lift the window, letting his head out, and drawing one of his guns, beginning to fire at the demons that whizzed past. One demon land on the carriage, yelling at Veran.

"Traitor!!!" the demon yelled before Veran shot its head, it flying off of the carriage.

Yet another got on, this time, Nikolai handling it...and rolling the carriage over as he did so.

"Aya!" Veran grabbed Aya quickly as the carriage rolled, tucking her underneath his jacket, protecting her from the fall.

As Nikolai was attacked by the ruthless demon, Veran pulled the carriage out from them, letting Aya go.

"Are you hurt?" he asked, looking at his master's face with a concerned look.

"I'm fine Veran." she laughed a bit, which was halted when the Boogeyman ran to Nikolai's and Wulfric's aid. The next thing Veran and Aya knew, the boogeyman held them tightly in his massive arms...only to reveal a pair of humongous black wings.

"I knew something was weird about you!" Veran admit.

"At least you were made into a fallen angel rather than a demon!" he mocked as the Boogeyman lay his empty eyes back on the two of them.

"I guarantee, we will stop this. Please watch out for everybody." Aya sincerely said before the Boogeyman threw the two up into the air...and through the portal.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

"Aya."

"Aya, you have to wake up now. You can do this for me...can't you?"

The image of a smiling Samael flashed before her eyes before Aya jerked awake, Veran beside her.

"We're here..." the demon muttered.

Before their eyes...an ebony castle...and the most haunting rivers of lava surrounding it. Veran fell silent as he stood up, helping Aya up.

"You must understand...Lucifer does not want us here...and he is extremely powerful...but we have come for answers." Veran walked slowly and cautiously through the gates, walking down the long, foreboding hallway that leads to the single room in this castle...the throne room.

Veran cautiously approached the door, opening it slowly...elite demon meeting eyes with eight thrones, and in the center throne, his Highness. Lucifer.

Keeping his hand on his gun, he kept his right arm around Aya, holding her as close as possible to him. Aya kept her head down, too afraid to look up at the devil. "Your highness....what chaos are you causing on earth?" Veran's voice boomed across the open room, his eyes on Lucifer.

There was silence for a good couple of seconds before a terrifying laughter choked out of none other than Lucifer's mouth, him taking his hand away from his face, balling it up into a fist and then slamming it down on the arm of his throne.

"You come all the way down here with the knowledge you betray us, yet you still address me as your Highness?" Lucifer burst into a short boast of laughter, Aya inching closer to Veran.

"You even bring a human too?!!" The devil laughed louder as Veran grit his teeth.

"I ha—" Veran was cut off suddenly as he felt a crushing weight on his legs, making him cry out.

"I don't want to hear excuses you slave. I don't care what class of demon you are, but I would have thought you would have had enough physical sense to not disobey me." Lucifer's voice turned serious as Veran was forced to his knees, his hands trying to hold him up as he bit his tongue, Aya rushing to his side.

"Veran are you okay?!" Aya placed a hand on his back and Veran shuddered.

"Ohhh Veran are you okayyy? The pathetic little cries of a human!" Lucifer mocked this to Aya, as she finally faced the devil.

"What a brave little girl you are!! No wonder this pathetic thing was after your soul! Tell me...I wonder just how tight your bond is." That phrase made Aya shake as Lucifer float down gracefully, forcing Veran's right hand up, Lucifer admiring the seal.

"Oh I remember when I marked you...that cross showing how faithful to God you were...yet you threw it away at the last second...does your master know your little sob story?" Lucifer held Veran's right palm with his sharp nails.

"I wonder if your master has a connection through it..." He seeped his nails into Veran's contract seal, him crying out in pain as the burn ran through his entire body. Just as Veran did, Aya clutched her eye as she let out a pained scream, Aya brought to her knees simply by that.

Lucifer let out a chuckle, waltzing his way to Aya.

"D-Don't you dare touch her!" Veran warned, sitting himself up a bit.

Lucifer's hands traced Aya's cheeks as he pulled her head up to look at him.

"Miss Aya Elizabeth Everus, current watchdog of Queen Victoria just like her daddy, Alexander James Everus. Sold her soul on the night of December 13th, 1869 after sunnoming a demon out of desperation to get out of the terrible situation she was in. The contractor was Veran Sterben and the contact was sealed with this mark in your eye...Veran's mark of sin." Lucifer ripped the girls eyepatch off, staring into the contacted eye as it glew the faint golden color.

"After reuniting with later to be Fiancé, Samael Pandora, she would befriend many types of creatures...and many would die at the hands of her and her butler. As wherever this dog and that servant go, death follows them in the form of three reapers of death. Nikolai, Gigermo, and the new reaper, Alexander Howle...whom was driven to suicide after the death of his love...and your fiancé... Samael Pandora, who was murdered by your hands." Lucifer let go of Aya's face as tears began to fall from her eyes.

"It's simply amazing what eyes can tell you." Lucifer let out a sigh, brushing his hand through Aya's hair as a gunshot whizzed past, and into one of the pillars of the throne room.

"Ohh a bullet, so scarryyy!!" Lucifer mocked as Veran stood slowly as Lucifer faced him, another bullet being fired, this time from Aya...and this one hitting.

Lucifer's skin suddenly burned as he reached and pulled the bullet out of the side of his face, dropping it to the ground.

"Sodium Chloride, formula of NaCl, Upon entering the human kitchen, I discovered the wonders of what it can do to us demons after experimenting on myself with it several times. They call it Salt, and it is used in foods. I used to consume it, and Aya does as well." Veran looked at his gun, smirking as the skin on the left side of his face burned off in a cloud of black ashes, half of his smirk nothing but the smile of a skeleton.

The demon grew taller and longer, his nails becoming sharp as he unbuttoned his shirt and undid his tye, letting it fall to the ground as his skin seeped into  extremely pale white color as the veins in his body became slightly visible, running with black blood. Veran flipped his hair to the right side of his head, the left side of his face fully a skeleton with the red pupils of a demon, the bones running down his neck, his shoulder, and down his arm, this pinky and ring fingers just bone with black, sharp nails like the rest.

Lucifer suddenly clap aloud, admiring Veran.

"You finally decided to show your revolting true form! The ugliness that hell has brought you!" Lucifer laughed.

Aya was shocked, and scared at the sudden appearance change of Veran. She stay still as Veran cautiously approached her, him carefully placing his right arm around her shoulder. Veran cocked his gun back again, pointing it at Lucifer. Aya took this as a signal, drawing hers back and also turning it to the devil.

"We will not stop fighting you until you stop the Apocalypse above. As you have failed every time you have tried. Although you have gotten closer this time...you are still not allowed to succeed." Veran's voice was strong, serious, and as demonically terrifying as Lucifer's, but Aya stood strong.

Veran would never let any harm come to Aya...whether there is a contract or not.

-In the Human World-

The battle for Earth had begun, and neither side was holding back. From the sea, by the shores of the city, Marco and his fellow captains began to order their ships. "Ready the cannons! Aim!...and fire!!!" The blast of cannons firing echoed across as the cannonballs were sent flying straight to the city. Some missed, but many reached their target, slamming into flying demons and crushing them with unrelenting force, demons falling from the sky along with blood and bones. Inside the city Werewolves and Werecats alike roared, chasing down demons and fighting against them. Humans, citizens of the city, hid inside their homes, churches, buildings of all kind, and simply waited, and prayed. A couple ran for their lives before encountering a large demon, who smirked at the two before slowly creeping up on them. They hugged each other, preparing for their death, when a suited woman, Jane Armstrong, dashed in front of them, and began to shoot at the demon, all bullets aimed at its head and chest. Inside the bullets, holy water mixed with salt, causing the demon to scream in utter pain, cysts and blisters showing on its skin. Before the demon could attack any further, The Boogeyman dashed forward, unfolding his scythe before slashing the head off the demon's shoulders, blood flying as the demon's body fell and began to dissolve into ashes. Jane turned to the couple. "Hurry inside. Any building. Stay inside, and stay away from the windows. Pour salt around any entrances." Jane ordered, the couple nodding and running off to safety. Jane reloaded her guns, clicking them and ready to fire again. "7 demons at 12 o clock. You take the sky, I take the ground." Jane said, looking over at the Boogeyman. "Understood. Be careful." "It'll take more than demons to take me down."

"And down you go!" Antonio yelled, slashing his sword across a smaller demon, slashing it in half, each demon's body that he 'killed' turning into ash, before turning over and shooting another one between the eyes. "Guess you can say they're dying to fight us!" Antonio said with a smirk, much to the dismay of his husband, who was using dual pistols to shoot demons away. One dashed towards him, and Arturo twirled, dodging it before tripping it and kicking it into the sky like a football. Arturo and Antonio pressed their backs against each other. "You know, I would've preferred a honeymoon in a nice tropical beach, but I think I like this better. It reminds me of the time we fought against captain Allen and his crew!" Antonio said, slashing away another one. Arturo hummed. "You know, it does remind me of that." Arturo admitted, stopping one of them on its tracks as he pushed the gun into its mouth and pulled the trigger, blasting its head apart. Antonio turned, getting his gun away for a few moments before turning to Arturo and wrapping his arms around his waist, aimlessly spinning him in circles in a sort of dance as he smiled in memory. "We were surrounded, just like this, and you looked so dashing covered in his men's blood." Antonio cooed, spinning Arturo around even as the two managed to dodge demon attacks and attacking them back in rhythm. "I remember. You received a scar from that time, around your waist." Arturo hummed, smiling up at Antonio. "You know, maybe after this we should head on vacation to some other islands. I hear the tropics are lovely at this time of year." "Hm hmmm." "We could ask Davy Jones to allow us to bring some of the children that had died at sea too." "I'd love that!" "Could you guys, like not?" Suddenly Catarina roared, throwing demons into the air with ease. "We're at war right now!" She insisted. "Mind your business kitty cat! We're having a romantic moment here!" Antonio yelled, pointing at Catarina. "Only a bunch of pirates would find fighting demons to be romantic!"

A demon roared before a giant axe was slammed right against its head and pulled back, Gigermo holding it with a smile as he pulled back and brought it back down, hacking the demon's head in two. Gigermo pulled back, swinging his axe to slam a few other demons against the nearest wall. "I haven't had this much fun in ages!" Gigermo admitted, pausing as he heard a roar behind him. He turned slowly, seeing this giant demon that could easily tower a werewolf. "Uh oh." Gigermo hummed, dodging a powerful hit from the demon. As the demon took a step towards him, Alexander came up from behind, wrapping his modified fishing string around the demon with ease, cutting into its skin. Gigermo took the chance, running at the demon's feet and slamming at his knees, causing it to roar and fall. As he did, Alexander pulled on the strings, and just like that, the string cut the demon into pieces, covering the floor beneath in blood as ash fell from where the demon once stood. "Ew." Gigermo said, turning to Alexander. "Where's Nikolai?" "Oh you know," Alexander said as he pointed behind him. "Being himself." A few feet away Nikolai was fighting away the demons with ease, his whip cracking across the hoards of demons, sending them flying back. He wrapped his whip around one, and used it to slam other demons, bodies crashing and blood flying, and Nikolai never hesitated, never broke a sweat. "What deal have to made this time?" He wondered to himself, whipping another demon away from him without having to turn. Gigermo sighed. "Man, I wonder what's his story, you know? He's so bad@$$!" Gigermo hummed. Alexander rolled his eyes. "Focus on the demons, otherwise you'll be working overtime recovering souls."

Lazarus punched another demon right in the face, sending it flying across the street. Another one tried to sneak up behind him, launching at him. Lazarus dropped himself to the floor, allowing the demon to fly over him. Then he got to his feet, dashing to the demon before beginning to punch it. One, two, three, face, shoulder, chest, and then one large kick across its side, sending it flying. He found himself suddenly surrounded as he backed to the nearest wall, searching for an opening. One was made for him, as Wulfric rushed from around the corner and slammed his body against the demons, sending them flying back. Wulfric howled, growling at the demons as he clawed at them in his werewolf form. He grabbed one in his mouth and bit down, blood covering his fur as he shook the demon wildly before throwing it at a couple of other demons. Lazarus walked up to Wulfric, noticing lances piercing his body. "Wulfric!" Lazarus hurried, gasping onto Wulfric's fur and climbing onto his back. Wulfric looked back momentarily. "I'm getting these things out!" Lazarus warned. Wulfric nodded, turning his attention back to the demons as he charged right in. Lazarus crawled across Wulfric's back, reaching to one of them and grasping it before pulling with all of his might. As he did, demons from the sky noticed him, and flew down towards him. Lazarus gasped, grasping the lance and pulling again, finally managing to pull it off Wulfric's skin, before using it as a way to block an upcoming attack. The demon attacked again, Lazarus using the lance to block attacks before knocking the demon away, preparing for another, all while Wulfric too down demons on foot. He looked up at the sky momentarily. "Aya. Please be ok."

-In the Ebony Castle, the Throne of Hell-

Lucier laughed, clapping his hands in utter amusement. So this is how it was going to be. So be it. "You really impress me, Veran." Lucifer admitted, never moving from his throne. "I gave you a chance, I gave you time, to take that pathetic little human's soul and join me and your brothers in this moment of victory!...and yet you refused. You have actually gotten attached! To this human!" Lucifer smiled insanely. "Not only her, but what were those other two? The werewolf and zombie kid? I should take care of them myself personally. I wonder how much of good servants would they be to me as well." Lucifer hummed, straightening his back. "No matter...the same God that cut your wings has made a wager with me...and look at what he allowed me to do!" Lucifer extended his arms up, and then slowly pointed at the two of them. "But if you want to fight against me...so be it." And with a snap of his fingers, everything went back for Aya and Veran. They couldn't see each other, only darkness.

...

As Aya tried to search where she was, looking for Veran, a familiar voice she had heard before spoke up. "Aya!" Aya blinked, and she was no longer in darkness, instead she was in her garden, a beautiful day with the warm sun and blue sky. "Aya, over here!" Aya turned, and there was an image she never saw possible. Sitting on the stone patio, with tea and cookies, sat her mother, father, and Samael, all on their own seats, Samael particularly enjoying the cookies. Samael turned to Aya, smiling as he waved at her. "Aya, come join us!" Samael said. Her mother waved at her as well. "Your tea will get cold, dear." She hummed, smiling at her ever so gently. "We were discussing the details of the wedding, remember?" Her father spoke, looking up at Samael, who smiled back as if they had been friends for ever. Off besides where they sat Wulfric was in his werewolf form, taking a nap in the sun as Lazarus worked with the flowers. Aya was home.

Veran found himself in a familiar place. His childhood home. His father was by the table, talking with his mother, who was busy cooking something by the fireplace. His mother turned to him, smiling. "Veran dear. Come take a seat, dinner will be ready soon." His mother hummed, turning back to the fireplace. "Isn't this a nice little family?" Lucifer's voice spoke, him now standing behind Veran. "To bad that it was your fault that they're all dead." Lucifer chuckled, beginning to tease at Veran, to get him angry. That's what he wanted out of him. He was going to make him angry, as well as Aya, and once they let them both go at it, it would be two dogs fighting for their lives.

Veran's eyes blinked. His mother...and his father. He has not seen them in over 200 years... Lies. Lies. It was all lies. Illusions. Veran knew just what demons could do. Torment with the mind.

"I have not seen them in over 200 years, Lucifer." he hissed to the devil.

"And it is your fault." the devil pulled on of the books down from the bookshelf behind Veran's father.

"Veran Sterben...catholic apprentice. Your parents were proud! When The Thirty Years' War began, you knew you had to join the forces...and decided to turn to witchcraft to help your forces...in your attempts..." the vision of Veran's father and mother burned away, along with the house which was slowly consumed by flames.
"You killed your family...and almost yourself." Veran clenched his fist as Lucifer spoke, his head hung down.

"You were found out...and executed as a part of the Bamberg Witch Trials..." The image of the burning house fade away...and in front of Veran's eyes, the younger Veran appeared.

The younger Veran being tortured with a thumbscrew and vice...his younger-self screaming in pain.

"They did this to you for two months before they finally burned you at the stake!! You have always been stubborn!" Lucifer laughed as Veran watched the gruesome memory in agony.

"Stop this!" Veran demanded.

"And why should I?" Lucifer whispered into Veran's ear, Veran reaching for his gun only for Lucifer to stop his hand.

"Stop this!!" Veran's voice raised as his body engulfed in black smoke, along with the gun and Veran was in a different place, Lucifer taking Veran out of the realm.

~~~
"S-Samael...?" Aya's voice broke as she saw Samael, rushing over to him.
Her father and mother were there too.
"F-Father...!" Aya reached out for him and as she touched her father, his appearance changed, his shirt bloody with gaping holes, his mouth open and his eyes empty.
Aya's hand leaped back, but her father's image stayed the same. Aya's eyes widen and she backed away a little.
"What is wrong, Aya?" her mother asked.
"I-It's nothing." She turned to her mother and smiled...but as soon as she looked again at her mother, her skin was pale, her eyes sickly, her face hollow.
Aya put her head down, too afraid to look at Samael.
"Aya...are you sure you're okay?" Aya heard Samael get up, and walk over to her.
He placed a hand on her shoulder and Aya shook...turning slowly to him.
His face was filled with a joyous smile...his eyes dazed...and a terrible wound in his chest...caused by her.
Aya threw herself back, looking for a way out of the garden. Samael, Elizabeth Everus, and Alexander Everus coming closer to her, Aya shaking. Lazarus ran over...but there was something even more gruesome about him. His head was missing, blood running down from his neck. Aya screamed. She screamed loud. She couldn't wake up!
~~~

Lucifer laughed upon hearing Aya scream, Veran instantly turning to her as he heard it. He rushed to her side.

"Aya!" he called out to her.

"Aya wake up!! Aya!" the demon's voice was urgent, his form reverting back.

Veran placed a hand on her head, and she woke up instantly, her eyes wide and she shaking. As she saw Veran she shook her head, curling up into a ball.

"Oops, I broke her!!" Lucifer yelled this out, his form beginning to revert.

Veran clenched his teeth. He grabbed Aya up with his right hand, changing back into his true form. He drew his gun as Aya held onto him, sitting on his shoulder and just keeping her eyes on his, trying not to look at anything else, her body still shaking. Veran then just started shooting at Lucifer, the bullets exploding upon impact with holy water, it coming back and burning him some as well. He was relentless as the devil emerged, gigantic black wings behind him, huge horns curling around his head, a black, flaming trident in his hands.

It was going down for real now.

Lucifer glared at Veran, gritting his teeth as steam rose from his skin of the bullets that were shot at him. It burned at his skin, the pureness of the salt, and the blessing of the water all on its own being painful. How clever. "Aren't you a bright little one? Not only to escape my temptations, but to use such techniques against your own kind...you are despicable." Lucifer hissed. As Veran shot more at Lucifer, he used his wings to cover himself from the splashes, and the trident to swat away the bullets as they came towards him. "You really think that any of that is going to do anything to me, Veran? Don't you remember who I am? I am the incarnation of Wrath, the deadliest sin of all, once god's favorite before being cast down...and yet you continue to defy me." He spoke, walking down an unseen staircase towards Veran and Aya from his throne, an elegance to his stature and walk that could be compared to that of royalty. He was one of the seven, one of the deadliest, and this little demon had come with his pet in an attempt to play with the big boys. It made him laugh. He was stronger, he was faster, he was crueler. Veran had no time to react, Lucifer appearing right in front of him, and stabbing him right through with his trident, the fire burning on the inside. He swung Veran upwards, having him slide off the trident's grip, and into the air, before he slammed Veran once more, this time with the hilt of his weapon, sending Veran flying back and crashing into the nearest wall, pieces of black rock and ebony falling ontop of him for even more damage. Lucifer tapped his trident against the floor and softly wrapped an arm around Aya. "Aya." Lucifer began, working his magic once more. He couldn't fool Veran, but by all means he could fool someone like Aya. Young, unstable, and of course, wrathful. On the outside, he was Lucifer, but on the inside, in Aya's clouded eyes and covered ears, he was someone completely different.

"Aya." Lucifer spoke once again, and as Aya turned to look at him, she would see Veran. "Aya, it's alright, I'm here for you." He spoke, allowing the aura of emotions flow into Aya. "We're almost done. We can stop this!" He said, picking up the gun from the floor and handing it to Aya, then pointing to Veran. "I've weakened him, but I know you wish to have your try at him too, young master." He purred, smirking. "It is his fault that we had to have Samael killed. If he hadn't planned what he did...he could still be with us." His words were like knives, only impaling an unimaginable amount of uncontrollable anger into Aya, feeding unlimited gasoline to an already lit forest fire. Aya was a bomb, she only needed the trigger to explode. On the inside, Aya would feel nothing but rage, wrath, all blinding her as all she saw was the enemy, the curse, the source of it all. "Don't hold back. I'll be with you. As I've always have." And just like that, he had turned Veran's greatest treasure against him.

"I can do what I can, even if it is against my own kind!" Veran held himself back, as Lucifer came closer to them, he quickly setting Aya back on the ground.

But before Veran could do anything else, he choked out, Lucifer's trident going through his body, burning through him. It was agonizing. It was the same burning that brought him to his death. Veran couldn't even let out his voice, and with another stab, Veran was thrown back ruthlessly into one of the pillars. Debris crumbling on top of him, keeping him in place.

As Veran heard Lucifer call out to Aya, he froze, (well he was paralyzed more or less).
"Aya no...don't listen to him!" his voice wouldn't come out.

He was a weak demon. He couldn't defeat Lucifer. He had lost.

Lucifer placed his hands on his meal. Lucifer had possessed her mind. Aya believed him too. She nodded to Lucifer, holding the gun in her hand.

"There is nobody to blame but him!" Aya yelled out, cocking the gun back.

Veran braced himself, feeling himself tremble.

"May you rot in depths deeper than hell! Lucifer!!" The gun shot out, and Veran bit his lip as it spiraled towards him.

"I shouldn't have brought you here Aya...I'm sorry."

The bullet hit Veran with unforgiving force, his head falling back at the force. Just as the bullet hit, the illusion faded, Lucifer laughing as Aya held the gun in her hand. She had just shot Veran. The realization came quickly.

"Veran!!" she yelled, Lucifer letting her go see her poor little demon.

Aya dropped the gun, rushing as fast as she could to Veran, moving rubble away from him.

"I'm so sorry Veran...I'm sorry..." Aya kept repeating this as Veran lift his head slightly, blood coming out of the corner of his lips as he looked weakly at Aya.

"Nobody can resist his possession..." he muttered this, Aya looking to him.

"Shut up. Don't say anything. We are surrendering. Now." Aya pulled him off the pillar, him leaning his weight on her.

"Finally give up?" Lucifer tapped his foot, his eyes glancing at Aya as his feathers stretched behind him in a display of dominance.

Aya grimaced at the devil before just nodding her head.

"We can't fight you..."

Lucifer laughed, his smile showing off his sharp teeth. He had to admit, these two had caused quite the trouble for him for months now. And yet, here he was, the two pests that had been messing up his plans before him, giving up. "I'm glad you have come to your senses." He hissed, smirking as he stepped closer. "You have costed me a lot, you know. If it weren't for you, it should have all gone smoothly, and all of these souls should've filled me right up, giving me all of the strength I have lost after pouring into the world...but it's fine. After all, we have all the time in the world now...which isn't long." Lucifer teased, once more clawing his way into Aya's mind, determined to break it into the smallest of pieces until she begged for death. Inside her head she began to see terrible images of all kind, including terrible past memories coming back to her ever so vividly, the death of her parents and of Samael. She could feel the pain that her friends up in the human wold felt. The pain as they fought, as they fell with injuries and stood right back up. The exhaustion of Jane as she fired against the demons, the pain of Wulfric and the lances stabbed into his skin, the aches of the pirates as they fought with everything they had left. "Do you see, Aya? Every single one of your friends is going to die. They're waiting for you to come up and save them from this nightmare! But you will never arrive. Instead they will die slowly, painfully until they begin to curse you in their last breath...much like everyone else." Lucifer chuckled darkly. To Aya it was like being torn apart into pieces by all threads, physically, mentally, until there was nothing left. Until she begged for death and there was nothing but misery left-

...

"Aya."

Aya would have her eyes closed, yet inside her mind, a voice spoke up, clearing away all thoughts and the pain. Gentle arms wrapped around her, warm and safe. "Don't be scared, Aya." The voice, her mother, assured. Another figure hugged her, rubbing her head gently. "You are so strong, Aya." Her father said softly. "I'm sorry that you have had to gone through all of this. You are the strongest person I've ever met...I'm sorry to have left you so early." Her father hummed, kissing her head softly. From behind, Samael hugged Aya, holding her hands softly and resting his head on her shoulder. "You're not alone, Aya." He said, holding her hands and slowly raising them up. "You were alone once, but not any longer. Veran, Wulfric, Lazarus, everyone; they're all with you...we're all with you. We may not be here...but we've always been with you, Aya. You were never alone. We're all with you every step on the way." Juts like that, the figures disappeared, leaving Aya holding her gun in front of her.

"You were chosen for a reason, Aya! Through your sacrifice, humanity will be given a second chance. We believe in you, Aya!"

...

In Aya's hand she held her gun tightly, pointing directly at Lucifer, who merely laughed at her. Before he could say any words, Aya's ring began to glow, a bright mist emerging from the stone and swirling around Aya's gun, causing it to glow brightly, making Lucifer take a step back. A supernatural aura surrounded Aya, seemingly taking all of the energy from her emotions and slowly transferring to the gun, energy and strength. From the aura, they could hear the echo of a familiar voice casting a spell;

"Powerful spirit

Of Good and light

Help her be brave

To win this fight

To the enemies she fears

let this be their strife;

My name is Aya Everus,

and this is my life!"

Suddenly, with the power of the spell, once casted out of love, it filled the gun with a special bullet, one of light, love, and every emotion built on trust and joy...everything that pride was not. Without hesitation, and with all of her emotions at full display, Aya let out a powerful roar, and pulled the trigger, the gun firing as the glowing bullet flew across the air, transforming itself in the shape of a sharp arrow as it went straight to Lucifer. Lucifer used his trident and wings in hopes of blocking it, to no avail, as it broke through the trident, and right through his wings, before piercing through his chest, Lucifer letting out a bloodcurling scream as the pain spread all over his body, burning him inside out, even as death would never come to him. The gun slowly stopped its glow, turning back to normal as the ring on her finger returned to its normal look, the spell cast, and the energy gone. One last gift, from beyond the grave.

"Aya...they aren't going to die..." Veran's voice muttered up to her, Aya struggled to look at Veran.

"They will not curse you as I cursed God..." the demon's voice was raspy, as he held onto Aya, her closing her eyes tight to fight off the pain.

"Powerful spirit

Suddenly, with the power of the spell, once cast out of love, it filled the gun with a special bullet, one of light, love, and every emotion built on trust and joy...everything that pride was not.

Without hesitation, and with all of her emotions at full display, Aya let out a powerful roar and pulled the trigger, the gun firing as the glowing bullet flew across the air, transforming itself in the shape of a sharp arrow as it went straight to Lucifer.

The gun slowly stopped its glow, turning back to normal as the ring on her finger returned to its normal look, the spell cast, and the energy gone.

Aya fell to the ground as soon as the shot was fired, Veran making his way to beside Aya, rubbing his masters shoulder.

Aya closed her eyes tighter when she heard a frustrated scream from Lucifer.

"Lucifer." a sharp voice echoed throughout the chamber, Lucifer's scream interrupted.

Sitting upon the thrones were the other six deadly sins, looking down at their king.

"The demons above ground are being rapidly defeated by shinigami, werewolves, werecats, two crews of undead pirates, a half-zombie boy, a fallen angel, and a human." the sin of Envy spoke.

"We have to call back the demons." Sloth then suggested.

Lucifer narrowed his eyes at the other sins.

"We have lost." Pride admitted, Lucifer growing upon hearing this.

"You are free to go..." Greed opened a portal behind the two.

"That demon is a traitor!!" Lucifer began fussing.

"Traitor or not, I believe he has learned his lesson...both of them have." Lust tapped her nails on the arm of the throne, it making a soft Clack, Clack.

"Let him consume the girls soul and throw the demon out of hell for good!" Gluttony spoke up.

"Leave." Lucifer growled at Aya and Veran.

"Will you stop the attack?" Aya pant out.

"As soon as you reach the surface, the demons will be summoned back. Veran is not allowed back in hell unless he can prove himself worthy." Lucifer instructed.

Veran picked up his head up and looking at Lucifer with a look of hatred, before spitting on the devil. Aya pulled Veran around...and through the portal they went, back into their world, and as soon as they crossed back through, Lucifer let out a cry of frustration, turning to the other sins with a sharp look on his face.

"I will not forgive you."

Aya and Veran fell through the portal...and landed promptly where the heaven portal once was, it opening up slowly again as a demon let out a screech. The demons all began to take flight, their fights stopping as the flood towards the portal in the sky...and as soon as the last imp was though...the portal close with a burst of light.

Charlotte was the first to see Aya and Veran.

"They are back!!" she yelled out to the others, rushing over to their side. Veran held onto Aya tightly as they both breathed heavily. Veran was badly wounded physically and slightly emotionally, and Aya was essentially tramatized.

Lazarus looked up, from where he stood smiling as he saw Aya and Veran in the distance. "They're back!" Lazarus cheered, Wulfric looking up from his fight. Nikolai and Gigermo looked at each other, and then heard the loud sound of a sephyr, much like they had heard before when all of this started. All eyes turned to the portal, as it began to crackle with lightning, and much as it had began to spill out the demons, it suddenly began to drag them back in, like an invisible and unstoppable force with no way of stopping. The demons screamed, wrecking as they reached for whatever they could as they began to be sucked back from where they came from. Antonio and Arturo kicked a few demons that were hanging onto walls. The Boogeyman landed next to Jane, who was just brushing off some demon blood from her shoes. Arturo smiled, throwing his hands into the air. "WE'VE WON!!!" He screamed. Antonio joined in. "WE'VE BEAT THE APOCALYPSE!!!" Antonio cheered, turning to his husband and spinning him around before bringing him into a kiss, the pirates cheering along with them as they held their weapons into the air. Lazarus gently sat on Wulfric's back. "They've done it." Lazarus said, smiling. Wulfric smirked, looking up into the sky as he suddenly began to howl. At this, all other werewolves joined in, howling together in victory. The werecats howled their own version, for once, joining their counterparts. The Boogeyman rubbed the back of his head, watching the demons be dragged away. He smiled at Jane, who in turn smiled back, before giving him a kiss on the cheek, much to the Boogeyman's dismay, who turned as red as a beat and fumbled on his words, Jane laughing. Gigermo and Nikolai were watching the portal, Gigermo already getting teary eyed. Nikolai felt a wary smile appear on his lips. "It all...turned out alright after all." Nikolai said, humming as he looked over at Alexander, who was already by Aya and Veran's side, looking at the two. His eyes, however, were soft, and the smallest of smiles on his lips. "You did well, Veran, Aya...for once." He said with a shrug. Nikolai rolled his eyes, watching the very last of the demons being sucked into the portal. Slowly the portal turned white, and a giant beam of white came from from the portal, smashing into the ground, before ever so slowly expanding, and covering the city. Antonio and Arturo held each other tight. Nikolai and Gigermo covered their eyes. Alexander wrapped his body around Veran and Aya, bracing the white light. Wulfric curled himself around Lazarus, Lazarus holding onto him. Marco watched from his ship, as ever so slowly, everything turned white.

...

Veran and Aya were together when they were surrounded by white. There was no end, and no beginning around them. "You did well." A voice spoke. When they turned their heads, someone they never expected stood before them; Aya. A much older one, a young adult, just as beautiful, wise, and full of grace. What she would've been in a different time, world, reality. "But then again, I don't expect anything else from myself. Much less by Veran's side." She said, her smile never wavering. "You have questions, I'm sure. But to answer, yes, I am you, Aya. Just...not from your world." She answered, looking up. As she did, the white of whatever was up, disappeared, showing instead endless stars. "There are many versions of this universe, many alternate realities, each a different outcome for every different decision ever made. In one two people are enemies, while in another one they are friends, while in another one, they are family. Whatever happened to you in your life is completely different in another. I'm sorry that you had to suffer the way you did...both of you." She said, looking back at them. "But you both were born with a destiny to fulfill, and your choices only led you closer to it, and now you've done it...and the world is yours once more." She walked over to them, wrapping her arms around them into a soft hug. "Life is tough, my darlings, but so are you...I wanted to thank you personally for everything you've done for this world. I expected no less from you." She said, kissing Aya on the head, and Veran on the forehead, before letting go of them, and taking a few steps back. "I wish I could tell you everything. But that will be for another time, and another life." She assured. Suddenly, from somewhere in the white, a small voice spoke, echoing. "Mommy! Where are you?!" Another voice, this one of an older man spoke up. "Aya, are you here?" The older Aya turned for a moment, before turning back to the two with a smile. "Don't worry. We'll meet again...one day." She said, turning away, and walking into the white, before slowly disappearing from sight.

Aya smiled...she realized where she was...and that she was safe now. Alexander placed his hands around hers and Veran's shoulders, and Veran felt the corners of his mouth lift in a genuine smile.

"I'm not just some chihuahua..." Aya joked a little, feeling content as she did.

The true form of Veran fade as the white light embraced the two. Aya and Veran closed their eyes...and were met with something they thought they wouldn't see.

Veran and Aya were together when they were surrounded by white. There was no end and no beginning around them.

"You did well." A voice spoke.

When they turned their heads, someone they never expected stood before them; Aya. A much older one, a young adult, just as beautiful, wise, and full of grace. What she would've been in a different time, world, reality.

"But then again, I don't expect anything else from myself. Much less by Veran's side." She said, her smile never wavering, peeking her eyes to Veran.

"You have questions, I'm sure. But to answer, yes, I am you, Aya. Just...not from your world." She answered, looking up, letting out a soft laugh.

As she did, the white of whatever was up, disappeared, showing instead endless stars.

"There are many versions of this universe, many alternate realities, each a different outcome for every different decision ever made. One where two people are enemies, and in another, they are friends, while in another one, they are family.

I expected no less from you." She said, kissing Aya on the head, and Veran on the forehead, before letting go of them and taking a few steps back.

"I wish I could tell you everything. But that will be for another time, and another life." She assured.

Suddenly, from somewhere in the white, a small voice spoke, echoing. "Mommy! Where are you?!"

Another voice, this one of an older man spoke up. "Aya, are you here?"

The older Aya turned for a moment, before turning back to the two with a smile.

"Don't worry. We'll meet again...one day." She said, turning away, and walking into the white, before slowly disappearing from sight.

Aya couldn't help but smile and Veran looked back at her, just as the vision disappeared and they were brought back into reality.

People started emerging from their homes, and Veran looked towards the sun.

"Let's go home." he stood himself up slowly, still in pain from the previous attacks.

---

The werecats and werewolves returned home. Catarina, The Boogeyman, Jane, Wulfric, Lazarus, Alexander, Nikolai, Gigermo, Charlotte, Antonio, Arturo and Marco were invited into the manor. Rehabilitation had started, and Lazarus was already busy helping Wulfric out with his wounds. Veran had vanished to his room...where after letting the Reapers know about their encounter, Aya began to wonder where he went.

A gentle knock sounded on Veran's door. Aya opening it. Veran was sitting on his bed, it looked as if he just finished putting on a fresh uniform, as he was buttoning up his shirt.

"Veran." the call made his attention catch to his young master.

Veran placed his arms down and looked over at Aya.

"You're hurt." she made her way to Veran, placing a hand over where she had shot him.

Veran audibly hissed slightly.

"I'm giving you time off until you're better, okay?" she met eyes with him.

Veran's eyes met Aya's. There was sudden silence in the room.

"You remind me of my mother sometimes, Aya." he muttered, laying himself down on his bed.

Aya was surprised that just came out of his mouth. There was silence once again.
"...What happened to your parents...?" she asked softly.

Veran turned around on his side.

"They burned alive in a house fire....because of me. We died the same way...with the cruel power of fire. That is why I burn the bodies of your enemies now...so they can feel just as I felt all those years ago." his voice was almost trembling as he said this.

There was silence once again and Aya placed a soft and on his back.

"I'm going to go change, I'll get Lazarus down to you." with that, Aya stood up, and exit his room.

She stood in front of the door for a second. There was always something with Veran and fire...

Aya turned on her heel, heading over to seek Lazarus so he could tend to Veran.

The group was all together in the main hall, talking, and overall celebrating the actual victory. Antonio and Arturo talked with Jane and the Boogeyman about the demons they encountered and different stories of their past as pirates, to which Jane and the Boogeyman were more than interested in listening to. Marco talked along with the Grim Reapers and Catarina, telling his own stories while he tried to flirt with Charlotte and Catarina, much to everyone else's dismay. Nikolai and Gigermo cleaned their weapons, Alexander mindfully playing with a familiar pocketwatch as he listened to the rest talk on and about. Lazarus sat with a table full of medical supplies, sitting in front of Wulfric as he took care of his wounds. They weren't lethal, but they would most likely leave a few scars here and there. "That should do it. You should not do any strenuous exercises until they seal up properly, so no chasing squirrels or any other rodents or mammals." Lazarus insisted. "Oh come on, it's not that bad." Wulfric hummed, extending his arms to flex only to feel a sharp pain run across his body, which caused him to stop and relax. "See?" Lazarus said as he sighed. Wulfric smiled softly, before turning to face him. "Thanks, Lazarus." Wulfric said, rubbing the back of his neck. "You know, seeing that this whole end of the world is over...I was wondering if you would like to...I mean, if we have time...maybe we could go on a day to the park? Just the two of us, if Veran lets us." Wulfric asked, his cheeks turning pink. Lazarus' face turned to a shade similar to his hair. "R-Really?" "Yeah." Lazarus smiled. "I would love to, if we get a chance." Lazarus murmured, which caused Wulfric to smile, his eyes glistening. "Alright!" He cheered, throwing his arms into the air before stopping due to the pain. Lazarus looked up, seeing Aya calling for him to tend to Veran's wounds. "Alright. I'll be right there." Lazarus said, picking up clean supplies and hurrying to Veran's room. Gigermo tried to follow Lazarus. "I'll help~" He said, only to be held back by Nikolai. "No you won't." He insisted. Antonio waved at Aya. "Come celebrate with us milady!"

Antonio waved at Aya. "Come celebrate with us milady!"

Celebrate? Aya stood in one spot, all this realization starting to hit her like a truck. Celebrate because they saved the world from what Lucifer had planned. What did Aya have to celebrate?

"Everyone." her voice cut through the commotion.

The main hall turned quiet as Aya spoke up, everyone turning to the head of the household.

"I hate to announce...but I have nothing to celebrate for." she began, looking to Everyone.

"I have achieved revenge for all my uncle did to me...and have avenged Samael's death." Aya's eyes turned specifically to Alexander.

"We also have all stopped the apocalypse, and all is calm once more..meaning." Aya looked down.

"I will be dead soon."

There was silence for a little bit.

"The contract between me and Veran is up...and he as a demon has to take my soul because that is what we agreed on...and I will be killed because of it." she announced.

"I'm sorry to ruin the mood..." she then muttered, turning quickly to walk away.

"Aya." A voice called out.

Charlotte stopped Aya by grabbing onto her hand.

Charlotte was a reaper nobody really saw that much because she was never really sent on interesting missions, but she was friends with Gigermo and has known of Aya since the first time Gigermo collected the cinematic records of people's lives Aya had ended.

"We will be here for you." she assured.

Aya could only nod, thanking Charlotte.

Meanwhile, in the lower quarters of the house, Lazarus had just finished sewing up Veran's wounds, applying his special aloe patches onto them. Veran was buttoning up his shirt again before he actually began talking.

"I cannot keep an eye on Aya tonight due to my condition...so may I ask you to look after her?" he asked before looking at his fire place.

"Lucifer can...do things to get inside of people's heads...and has spendid fun playing with innocent humans like Aya." he muttered.

"Just keep an eye on her for me...please."

Aya's words quickly quieted everyone down, the silence becoming heavy as they listened to her. Everyone's eyes slowly turned to the floor, their smiles slowly fading. Right. She was going to be dead soon. Veran was going to eat her soul up and he would disappear...and that would be the end of it. However, as Charlotte spoke up, Gigermo piped up as well. "Y-Yeah! Like Charlotte says! We'll be here for you! It's your last day, right? You've done so much for all of us and for this world...it wouldn't be fair to abandon you in your time of need!" Gigermo said with a smile on his face, pausing as he turned to his face to the rest of the group. "Right guys?" The Boogeyman nodded, looking up. "We'll be here for you, Aya." He insisted. Antonio stepped up. "It's your last day, well darn it, we better make it memorable for you!" Antonio said. Jane quickly had an idea. "Allow me to make you dinner tonight! I'll even use my secret recipes!" Jane said. The Boogeyman nodded. "I'll help out and make the desserts!" The Boogeyman said. "Oi! Tell me what you need! Arturo and I will help you find the best fish that the sea has to offer!" Antonio said with pride, Arturo nodding. Nikolai paused. "I know a guy that knows a guy. I can get you the best spices. But you can't ask questions." Nikolai said with a smile. Wulfric smiled. "I'll help setting up the table, then!" Wulfric laughed. Alexander looked around and sighed. "I guess I'll help manage the kitchen. Got to keep an eye for every one of you." He said. With that, everyone had already made it their mission, they were going to give Aya and Veran a grand, final, goodbye dinner fit for a queen. If it was Aya's last day, then she would go off with a full stomach. Lazarus finished up fixing Veran up. Lazarus nodded solemnly, even as he could hear the group making some noise downstairs. "We will watch over her Veran. Over the two of you. You've done so much for us...it is the least we can do." Lazarus insisted, standing up and heading back to help.

Aya smiled contently at everyone as they all rushed in their own directions, determined to make this a wonderful night for her. As they did so, Aya turned to go and get herself changed. Many things rushed through her head. Who would see her cinematic record? Would it hurt when her soul was consumed? Would it just disappear or be with Veran forever? She was so scared.
She changed by herself into a cream nightgown that would be warm enough for the chill of the night...it was already late so why not change into this. Brushing her hair, she looked into her mirror, remembering what Lucifer had said to Veran as "Les oiseaux dans la charmille" played softly on her phonograph.
Contract seals were given to all demons, each one different, symbolizing things about that demons life. Veran's seal was prominent by a cross. He used to be a child of God. She placed her hairbrush down, standing up and flipping off the Phonograph. It was too weird not having Veran beside her.
She quietly opened her door, making her way back to Veran's room. She had to ask him more questions. She opened the door quietly, walking over to Veran's side. He didn't move, and his breath was steady. Did he...fall asleep? Aya soundlessly giggled, looking down at that useful butler of hers and signing, pulling his sheets onto him.
"I guess demons rest when they are going through hard times..." She muttered, resting her arms on the bed beside Veran as she looked at him.
What a creature. He could be so terrifying and then be so vulnerable. This is actually this first time she has seen him in such a pitiful state.
He was a demon...but also no less a human either.

"You know Veran...I was told once demons used to be angels, but because they bore unrealistically high expectations, they were cast into hell. I see now that..it is true."

It was chaos in the kitchen, yet they somehow managed to keep it from falling apart to pieces. Jane kept barking out orders, giving out instructions on the ingredients. The Boogeyman was the most obedient one, and Jane's helper as he kept ingredients from falling over and food from getting under or overcooked. Antonio and Arturo had brought in some huge fish and cooked them right up with a secret recipe, though Jane managed to convince them to change a few things to adapt to modern standards of food. Nikolai nor Gigermo had any idea of what they were doing. Neither of them learned to cook before death, and as Grim Reapers they didn't have the need to eat so they never really learned. They simply followed instructions as given and did their best as tasked. Gigermo almost set his plate on fire twice. Nikolai almost got the chicken cooking without salting it up. Wulfric had a free pass to rest and watch while Lazarus prepared the table, carrying plates of the food back and forth from the kitchen to the table. By the time they were relatively done, the scent of the delicious meals could be smelled all across the manor. Maybe that would wake Veran up, if demons felt any hunger. "Alright everyone wash up and find some seats! Someone call Aya over so she doesn't miss it." Jane said as she pulled off her gloves. The Boogeyman settled some plates on the table as Antonio and Arturo didn't waste any time to find their own seats and sit down by their plates. "You two should wait for the ladies to sit down. You know, like gentlemen." Gigermo said, waving his finger at them. They simply shrugged it off. "We're pirates. We're excused."

Charlotte had run off to get Aya and Veran after the meal was done, finding the two because of the scent of a demon. She knocked on the door and opened it,  walking over to Aya's side.

"Dinner is ready, milady!" She held up a finger and winked before looking down at Veran.

"Do demons usually sleep? I've really never seen a human-looking one before...especially under the contact of a human!" she laughed lightly.

"Unlike reapers, demons don't need sleep...and the human-looking ones are the more powerful ones so be careful with what you say." Veran sat up slowly, Aya stepping back, wondering if he heard all she said earlier.

"Everyone made dinner for us since tomorrow...." Aya began but Veran nodded, cutting her off.

"Let us go then." Aya helped him up, and the three went back to the dining hall.

Aside from Charlotte, the two were greeted with a wonderful aroma of dishes of every kind.

"Who let someone cook in my kitchen?"  Veran growled out loud, those hearing him stopping out of fear.

"I-I think Jane arranged it...?" Aya muttered as an answer.

Veran sighed, calming himself.

"That's okay then. As long as it was her..." Veran pulled a chair out for Aya and Aya urged him to sit down beside her.

Everyone began shuffling into their seats. In the years Veran has been with Aya...this was the first time every chair has been filled at her table....every chair but one. That one chair...for Samael...right beside Aya and across from Veran.

"Everyone...I thank you very much for cooking and helping us out today. Though the outlook does not look so good for me, please continue to be yourselves the way I know you." Aya raised her glass, letting the dinner begin. Everyone but Veran would eat though...as he gets his meal tomorrow.

Everyone raised their glasses to Aya. Antonio and Arturo had settled for whiskey, the rest had settled for wine, except for The Boogeyman who was drinking straight up vodka and Nikolai, who was perpetually too young to drink alcohol and settled for juice. "For the future of the world!" Wulfric said, smiling. "For freedom!" Antonio added. "For life." Jane chimed in. The Boogeyman smiled. "For the generations to come." He added. "For teaching Hell a lesson about messing with Earth." Nikolai said. It felt that he wanted to say more, but whatever it was, he remained quiet of it. Gigermo smiled, winking at Veran. "And to Veran! The one demon that turned his back on his kin for the sake of humanity." Everyone nodded. "You're welcome at my place any time, Veran." The Boogeyman invited. "Same here." Gigermo said with a wink, and with that, everyone drank, and everyone began to serve themselves up food for their plates. Everyone chattered, talking and eating as they served themselves up. Nikolai seemed to be impressed by the taste of the food, eagerly eating his plate up. Wulfric and Arturo both ate like dogs, digging into their plates without utensils and shoving more food whenever they could. Antonio and Jane talked about their jobs, and the Boogeyman shared stories of when he was working as a Fallen Angel before quitting. At one point Wulfric and Arturo had decided to have a competition to see who could outdrink the other, their boyfriends and husbands cheering them on. For once, in a long time, the Everus household was loud.

"For sacrifice." Aya raised her glass to Alexander.

"And for Aya, the one who brought us together..." Veran opened his mouth like he was about to add to this, but stopped, placing his glass of straight vodka the Boogeyman poured into his cup without his consent.

"And who will be my most precious meal." he snickered to himself, downing the vodka in one go, it wouldn't effect him at all.

The dinner party went on, and it was not until around 11 pm Aya decided to get up. Like few of them there, she was human, and young, and needed to rest.

"I am bidding myself to bed. You all are welcome to spend the night here, Veran will show you to your rooms." Aya stood, Veran standing as well.

"Excuse us." he walked off with Aya, not even stumbling, around 12 shots of vodka bottles where he sat.

--

Veran pulled Aya's covers over her, looking down at her.

"Are you okay?" she then ask Veran, his eyes looking down at her.

Veran took a second to respond.

"Yes." he nodded to her.

"Good night, Aya." he began to step out before Aya sat up.

"Veran." she called after him.

Veran stopped, looking back at Aya.

"Can you wait until tomorrow?" she asked.

He nodded slowly, then heading out of the room. He left Aya to sleep, and for him to send the guest to their rooms if they wished.

~Later that night~

"Aya." a kind voice called, Aya opening her eyes to see Samael, smiling at her.

They looked to be on a ridge full of lilies,* Samael holding onto her hand.

"Come look." he offered, Aya smiling and following him down a quaint cobblestone path.

"Where are Veran and Alexander?" she asked.

"They are on the other side of the river.**" he brought her to the edge of the ridge, and as she looked down, there was burnt grass.

The bodies of everyone she and Veran had killed lay in the burnt grass. Mutated, burnt, broken into pieces, shot, and crushed.

"It's time to go join them, Aya. After all, that is where we belong." Aya did not look at Samael who spoke, she already felt his warm blood seeping onto her hand.

When she looked slowly up at him, she saw that peaceful smile, and the wound she caused.

"Aya, why do you look so scared?" the voices began talking to her, of all those she has killed.

"Aya, death just looks scary."

"Come on Aya, let's go!"

"Aya"`

"Aya! What's wrong?"

"Come play with us!"

"There is nothing to worry about!"

"I love you, Aya."

~~~
Aya jerked awake, gasping and shaking. She tried to catch her breath, stumbling up out of her bed.
"Veran?" she called out.
No avail.
She quickly walked over to her door, opening it and peering down the long, dark hallway. It was scary...especially after a dream like that. She bolted, running down the stairs, rushing to Veran's room like the world was falling apart behind her. Aya reached for the doorknob, and a soon as she opened it, she was shocked with Veran at the door, looking like he just threw himself together.
"Veran..." Aya breathed out, him looking down at her as she let herself into his room,  embracing the demon.
"Bad dream?" he asked, placing his hand on Aya's head.
She nodded softly.
"You can sleep with me tonight if it would make you feel any better?" he offered.
Aya looked up at him, nodding slowly.
"If that's okay with you..."
