Nope. PS2 emulation is finally here.

Why is it a big deal? Does it mean we're going to get backtracking for the PS2?

Some people really want to emulate PS2 games for some reason.

While as good as this is, unless they plan on adding support for discs (which I highly doubt) I doubt I will be using this feature as I doubt most of the games I would like to play would receive a digital release.

It would be nice for PS3 to get this treatment as well, along with the disc support, but like you said, it probably won't happen.

They're done with PS3 and it used to have disc support but they removed it.

They won't even add CD support. Lol.

I think Z meant PS3 titles getting emulated. Not the PS3 itself emulating PS2 games.

Ah, well there's almost zero chance of that. The architecture in the PS3 is so different.

So there is no ps2 disc support for the ps4? Forgive me if I'm slow, I've been ill for the better part of a week

Correct.

Correct.

Ok, thanks for clearing it up for me =)

What exactly does it mean to emulate games anyway? What's the difference between doing that and porting them digitally through the PS store or PS Now?
