KHVision 85 Posted August 30, 2015 As we've known, Donald and Goofy are returning as Sora's companions in KH3. My question is, will they get pushed to the side like they were in KH2? Now of course in Re:COM, Re:Coded, and DDD they weren't even party members period, but in KH2 they really got the short end of the stick with having many, many Sora only fights or Sora fighting with a partner from a world (ex: Cerberus fight with Auron). I personally didn't like how they pushed Donald and Goofy to the side in KH2 (despite their not so great AI). What are your thoughts on this? Felixx 6,646 Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) I hope not, since I really love Donald and Goofy, they're making Kingdom Hearts so special. But I fear it will be the case, maybe even worse than in KH2. They are no keyblade wielders, and since BBS characters without a keyblade aren't important to the story anymore Let's just hope for the best. WakingDawn96 1,166 Posted August 30, 2015 I think they should get a chance to shine, and I literally mean that in KH3 they should get a moment to prove they are not useless and can actually help in a situation. They have helped in the past (like in KH3D against Xehanort) but they need one true moment to prove their worth, and for crying out loud they are both true heroes! Sora_Roxas26 124 Posted August 30, 2015 Donald and Goofy weren't along side Data Sora in Coded, but without them we he had no Keyblade, he would have been truly boned, and even though it was a very minute appearance in Dream Drop Distance, without them, 3 of the "Lights"/Keyblade Masters, (FYI, I know Sora isn't technically, a Master, but we all know he is, he's done more then even Mickey has, and def more then Riku and Aqua) would have again, been boned. I understand that, but I wish it would be like KH1 where the 3rd world exclusive party members could just be optional throughout instead of being forced with that party member. I especially hated that Ping exclusive fight in the cave. That moment makes me believe that they will indeed do something great. Ninkoro 123 Posted August 30, 2015 On one hand I think the trio is meant to always fight together, but on the other hand I really enjoyed the Sora + world character fights because it felt sorta like a bonding moment and made the trips to 'filler' disney worlds feel more worth it and fleshed out the main character more. I also enjoyed the sora-only fights because it really showed that Soras growing up and he's strong enough to handle things by himself if the situation calls for it, rather than back in kh1 where he would never have made it withought his pals. So im going to have to disagree with you, respectfully ofcourse. I enjoyed the way Kh2 did things regarding this and i hope Kh3 does things the same. Sora's fights without Donald and Goofy, whether he was alone or with a World-exclusive partner, definitely did show how far he has come! While that was a great feat, I feel it's too far between of showing of their importance, and could be argued that they only got rid of it because the Xehanorts only had a few seconds left before going back to their time. I would like them to be nearly akin of importance to the story as they were in KH1 and not play 3rd wheel of even world exclusive characters like in KH2. While I agree, gameplay wise since I think you weren't able to dodge roll or block it was annoying especially since space was small in the cave and she didn't serve as good as a meat shield as Donald or Goofy.
