Film Square Enix's take on Darth Maul

Recommended Posts

yesssss no spider legs

There's lots of vital organs in your belly; wouldn't you want to protect them?

Yes, but having valleys in the armor actually makes it more dangerous.  There was a reason that type of armor was used in ceremonial functions, and not in actual combat.

Please tell me you're not applying real life logic to a Star Wars figure designed by Square Enix.

Ab armor is Squeenix logic, not Star Wars logic.  Even Star Wars wasn't that silly.

Right, Star Wars is just the series with the magic space wizards who use laser swords. Ain't nothing silly about that! :P

I'm saying that even within Star Wars logic, ab armor STILL doesn't make sense.  Not picking on this figure alone; I'm just tired of seeing this concept used on every single thing.   It's the same with women knights having bikini armor or boob plate in fantasy games.

I know, I'm just firetrucking around. Personally I don't see a problem with the Square Enix style- it's an art style, and it's very obviously not meant to be taken as a serious design for actual armor (unlike metal bikinis, which would totally work in real life).

If you personally don't care for the design that's fine, but you prolly shouldn't expect too much realism from a SE figure.

armour is overall meaningless in star wars unless it's made or cortosis
