(Chapter 6) Another Job for my Bravely Default characters?

Recommended Posts

I'm running out of ideas of jobs I need. I'm at Chapter 6, and so far these are the Jobs I maxed for each character...

Agnes: White Mage, Performer, Spiritmaster and now I'm doing Swordmaster.

Ringabel: Knight, Templar, Dark Knight, and now I'm doing Thief.

Edea: Black Mage, Arcanist and Time Mage.

Tiz: Vampire and now i'm doing Dark Knight.

I have zero clue on what to do with Edea, and same goes for Agnes.

Ringabel is okay but I'm losing options too.

Tiz is all over the place, I'll probably finish up some of his jobs but if you want to help with him feel free to do so.

So what should I do with them?

If it helps, I want Agnes to do her best protecting everyone and healing them all along with buffs and stuff. I want Edea to hit hard with magic. I want Ringabel to be the physical hard hitter which he has been (Except Thief, doing it for chests and see what it can do). I want Tiz mainly to be a Vampire, but I want something to support that Vampire part of him. The job can basically do almost everything.

you're at the point where you're going to want to get abilities that make characters more cost effective. For example, Pirates are the best damage dealers, but a lot of their moves take off huge chunks of HP

I never used this setup myself, but it's recommended you get the Free Meal ability from the Samurai for anybody you want to mitigate huge MP costs for

Beyond that, as the bosses slowly become more powerful, culminating in becoming downright badly designed, you're going to want to focus on ways to deal INSANE  damae n as few turns as possible.

Like, literally later on there's a boss that if you don't kill one of the enemies before their first turn then they use an attack that instantly kills the entire party no matter what, so you have to deal like 40,000 damage before that enemy's turn

Since you've already got the Time Mage for Agnes it wouldn't hurt to level up her Valkyrie too... just in case

oh, and start putting some time into the Freelancer for everyone, they eventually get an ability that raises the JP you get from battles, which makes things a lot less time consuming, obviously

...

I think it's JP

it's either JP or EXP

I think EXP is from the final job class...

I dunno

anyways, honestly you;ve got a lot of the core classes maxed out, now it's just a matter of galvanizing them

Agnes does have a Time Mage job around lvl 9 or 10, but you might be talking about Edea since I didn't mention Agnes having a Time Mage job in the first post. I've got Tiz's Valkyrie pretty high if thats worth mentioning.

Free Meal will do so well with Agnes, who loses MP really quickly after getting Curaga and such.

I'll do Freelancer, as soon as I'm done with the current Job class.

I'm still lost. I want to look to do hard damage, but the highest most did is like 6k (save for Ringabel who does 9999 at times with Thief) critical. I did almost all the jobs I think would help in that case, so I'm a little lost on what abilities should I look for.

If you meant with Valkyrie, how exactly would that help with the magical aspect of Edea I've built her up with?

Valkyrie + Time Mage makes an unbeatable strategy that can win you almost any fight.

That's the thing, it's kinda tricky to deal enough damage fast enough, generally you need to find ways to make multi hit attacks for a lot of damage. Or ensure your characters get a lot of turns in before the other character. he most reliable method is to use Bravely Second to break the damage limit, and then unleashed a swamr of ultimate attacks. But that's for much later anyways

Some other general tips, level up the Merchant for everyone so they can get the money multiplying skill, they all stack so it's the most reliable way to grind for money (not that there's much to buy after this point)

It's kinda a shame, if you got more ability points there'd be more of a reason to use classes like the Red Mage, but because you're pretty limited in how much you can customize there's honestly not much else you need

Eventually you'll be able to max out all the classes fairly easily though, don't worry

That seems fun. So how exactly are they unbeatable?

I'll probably have that combo for Tiz, Edea and Agnes just in case. Maybe not Agnes though, she is the only White Mage I got, so I'll probably have either Ringabel or Tiz as another White Mage.

So I'm guessing that I should just max out whatever Jobs that aren't maxed out since at this point that may be useful at times?

Time Mage gives you an ability that raises you and your enemy's BP by 1 per turn, Valkyries get an ability called Super Jump which costs 3 BP and takes 3 turns to use (during said three turns you're in the air and thus invincible)

I think you can see where this leads

only catch is you need high enough agility to jump before the enemy attacks, and certain bosses will cause the game to crash if you use this technique. I personally used this to grind those monsters that invade your village since beating them legitimately takes forever

Yeah, max out whatever. There aren't really any -bad- jobs, just make sure you have decent synergy between your characters and you'll be fine until the final chapter or so.

It should be pretty obvious which classeswill help which. Like a physical class won't do a mage class much good in a lot of cases, but sometimes they have stuff liek Free Meal.

It can make your game crash? I rather not take that chance.

Why would it crash? Did they put a code in to prevent people to using it?

You could have everyone except for Agnes max out monk and learn natural talent, you will do 9999 damage for four turns on each character.

I'll try, thank you.

It's not the move specifically, the game just has a major coding oversight. Certain moves, like one of the moves the third crystal boss uses, can hit the entire party, and if nobody gets hit the game crashes. There are quite a few ways to trigger this, so yeah, pretty big oversight on their part

apparently there are other ways to crash the game, but that's the only one I encountered

the strategy is perfectly safe for Asterisk battles, at least, just don't use it during the crystal battles

you can even use it on the final boss, I tested it myself
