the hype is real

What's so different about the new 3DS? Other than the size and new button. What does the button even do? xD

It has better hardware, meaning it can play games the normal 3DS can't. The only exclusive confirmed so far is a remake of Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii, and that definitely needed the hardware boost to run on the New 3DS. It also has amiibo support, two new shoulder buttons, and a small second circle pad above the ABXY buttons.

It has a better processor that lets it run a little faster/do more at once, and I think a few other technical changes (idk). It's actually got two new trigger buttons (so now there's four), and the new "button" on the inside is a pressure sensitive nub that kinda works like a second circle pad (some laptops have something similar, though I don't think its very common).

EDIT: Just realized Shulk answered you already. That's what I get for just skim-reading through the thread. X_X

the n3ds hype is real!

/jealous I wish NA was getting the smaller one, I'd probably get it (my launch 3DS is starting to wear out). But if/when it eventually does, I probably won't have money. -_-

Exclusive games? Great. Looks like I know what I'm probably going to invest in a few years. And the trigger buttons sound cool, but I guarantee they're going to suddenly stop working just like every other trigger buttons since the very first DS.As for the circle pad thing, it looks cool but I don't fully see the purpose tbh, but it's a nice extra feature.I also heard that apparently it doesn't come with an adapter, which I think is dreadfully stupid especially since for some people, this is their first 3DS/DS in general. Like I said, it only has exclusive games because of the improved hardware. The only one announced so far is Xenoblade Chronicles 3D (Which myself and some others consider to be worth the upgrade, but I understand if others don't). I doubt they're going to move big series like Mario or Pokemon to New 3DS only. They're only making games exclusive if they absolutely need the hardware boost.

dont worry about that. this is kinda like the dsi. remember how many exclusive games that had? like 5. nintendo isnt going to release a COMPLETLY new handheld. after getting the HUGE instal base that the original has, it would be suicide. i gaurentee there will not be so many exclusives. maybe more than the dsi, but trust me when i say that nintendo wont neglect the regular 3ds. :)

but the lack of power adapter thing, your right on par. that move was definetly very questionable.
