Thought Theatrhythm would just stay an FF thing like Dissidia. Didn't think they'd expand it to other franchises.

Hope Curtain Call sold well enough outside of Japan to warrant localization. Would buy.

Wow.

This upsets me a little because like come on

KH really neads a Theatrythm game.

I'd play that ALL DAY

All day every day!

I saw this and thought it was a joke. But now... HOLYCRAPYESPLEASEGETLOCALIZED

Hold up, I got a 404. Now I'm not sure if it's true or what.

And Google turned it back up. Hype restored.

It didn't. Sold very poorly.

Pretty sure Theatrhythm games are easy to localize, so I wouldn't be surprised if it does. Their reason for VII is just due to how much text it has.

I dont care too much for dq, and I dont think this will be localized.

I said that because Enix might not think the game has a big enough audience in other regions. I'm pretty sure that's why X wasn't released outside Japan, and why they didn't bother translating VII.

Well X is an MMO, if you don't have a large enough audience you can't keep it going. They explained the issue with VII is due to how much text there is. Just ask Siliconera.

They translated VII on the PS1, they could do it again. I feel like the reason they won't is because of how small the fanbase is outside Japan.

Interesting how they're expanding this into a bigger franchise. I'm guessing the sales for Curtain Call doesn't matter since this will be marketed as a Dragon quest game and maybe they'll learn their lesson this time and not release it during the same time as other big AAA titles. I'm excited even though I only played one DQ game.

Also fyi, if you change the end of the link from '/t_dq/' to '/tdq/' it will direct you to the teaser site.

ok cool thats awesome, ill buy it. but think about this, kingdom hearts theatrhythm. eh? eh?

“In terms of DQVII, it has a lot of text to go through and translate,” Fujimoto said, “and we’ve received so many requests and so much positive feedback about the game, but unfortunately, we have to consider the cost and the manpower needed to handle the sheer load of text. In terms of scenario and script, the game is probably one of the largest in the DQ franchise. If a lot of people can buy it and support it… well, we can’t promise anything.”

“From Dragon Quest VIII and beyond, we’ve revamped the translation,” Fujimoto explained. “For example, we’ve added regional twangs like those from Baltic regions sounding Russian and things like that. We’ve also updated the spells and monster names, so any classic titles we revisit, we want to say consistent. That being said, when we go back and update the classic titles, we make these changes. That’s another step in the process.”

“Going back to people who want DQVII to come out… we’ve gotten a lot of requests, we really want to do it, but right now, we need to hammer out what kind of resources we’d need to do it. We say this a lot, but, we can’t seem to get to the point where it’s justifiable.”

Theatrhythm producer Ichiro Hazama was at the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix Launch Event in Burbank. It could mean something in the future or it could not. He didn't announce anything or make his presence known at the event.

My theory was he was going to announce a new Dissidia at PSX.

I would buy that. I would absolutely 1000% buy that. The music is one of the best things about the KH series IMO.

If they made a KH Theatrythm game and it wasn't localized, I would import it and play it forever.I loved the FF game, but I never really played FF games so it's such a huge impact when you're playing a musical game using the music that you love and recognize.

But region locked 3DS :(

Yeah, I'm a big FF fan, so I really liked Theatrythm. Still, I'm not in love with FF music like I am with KH music. Shimomura is love, Shimomura is life

Totally agree.I will Inport a Japanese 3DS then!Oh my... Just imagine playing as Ventus with Sora, Aqua, and Riku in your party and you're fighting Vanitas while his battle theme plays.

Maybe after DQ.

Yeah I wasn't on-board with a DQ rhythm game initially, because a KH version would've had A LOT more memorable tracks, but since it will have tracks from DQVIII alone makes me hyped.
