Sora96 17,256 Posted October 30, 2014 Nintendo has announced that pre-loading will finally come to Nintendo Wii U this year and for Nintendo 3DS next year. Pre-loading allows you to download and install a game before it's even released, thus allowing you start playing as soon as midnight hits. Thanks go to @Sab_Mas for the tip. Shulk 8,623 Posted October 30, 2014 Is there any word on when this year this will start? Because I'm considering downloading Smash as a last resort in case I can't find any better options to get it.

How can you download a game before it's actually released? By this. Publishers always put their games up on the PlayStation Store allowing you to pre-order them and pre-load them. So you would have an icon on your 3DS before the game was really out?
