KHUX Kingdom Hearts χ[chi] - Master Game Guide & How to Play

Recommended Posts

I've got things down pretty solid, but there's one thing that eludes me.  Where does the AP Up go? I collected tons of these from my present box, but have no idea where they end up.  Tried card skill area, only see HP Up and some other one (10% something or other)   I'm still running on fumes here  1/50 AP (using potions)  Is there a button or screen that I missed?

Edit:  Thank you so much SkyKeybladeHero, I totally missed that part of the menu.  I think I saw it at one point, but never ever went back to that part of the menu again.  :P  I woulda been lost forever.

Upper right corner > Menu > アイテム (Items)

The 10% something or other is the probability of the skill activating when the card is used in battle.

Chapter 2

All those Beautiful Cards

Cards in the game are mainly divided into 2 categories: Assist Cards and Attack Cards.

Assist Cards can be identified by the silver heart icon on the right upper corner.

Posted Image

Attack Cards can be recognized by the red, blue or green icon in their left upper corner.

Posted Image

Attack and Assist Cards are divided into 6 different rarities: N, N+, R, R+, SR and SR+

The higher the rarity of the card, the higher the stats the card can have.

ASSIST CARDS

We will now discuss in depth what Assist cards are used for.

Posted Image

This shows what level is your card, you can increase your card’s level by using card synthesis.

This shows the HP and Lux % increase you will receive when you equip this card in your assist deck.

These are the number of skill slots that are available for this card. Only HP increasing abilities can be equipped to assist cards.

There are other 3 types of cards that can be found in the Assist tab, but can not be equipped in your assist deck. These cards are only used in card synthesis. They are: Yen Sid Cards, Fairy Godmother Cards and Moogle Cards

Yen Sid Card

These cards are only used to perform a limit cut on a card of the same rarity. We will discuss limit cuts at the end of this chapter which deals with card synthesis.

Posted Image

Fairy Godmother Cards

You can use these cards to give an assist or attack card a boost on its stats.

Posted Image

Moogle Cards

These are used in card synthesis to level up other cards faster.

Posted Image

Moogle Assist Card Shop

You can obtain assist cards by opening treasure chests that are scattered accross the worlds. Sometimes when opening a treasure chest a Moogle will appear and open the Moogle Shop for you. In here you can get better assist cards if you have Kupo fruit. you can obtain Kupo fruit by completing missions.

Posted Image

This number is how many Kupo Fruit you have.

Clicking this button allows you to trade 1 kupo fruit for an assist card of R+ or higher rarity.

Clicking this button spends 3 kupo fruit for 5 assist cards of R+ or higher rarity.

Clicking this button shows you the list of cards you could receive by trading kupo fruit.

Clicking this button gives you a free assist card that can be of N, N+, R or R+ rarity.

ATTACK CARDS

You can obtain attack cards by defeating heartless or through the card draw menu. These cards are used to perform attacks when battling a heartless in the game. They are divided into three categories: Power, Speed, Magic. you can identify them by the icons in the left upper corner.

Power

Posted Image

Speed

Posted Image

Magic

Posted Image

Here is the explanation for the attack cards stats screen.

Posted Image

This shows the level your card is at.

This is how much it costs to equip this card into your attack deck.

The first number is the attack increase this card gives you and the second row is the defense increase the card gives you.

This is the name of the attack animation this card performs when used in battle.

These are the skill slots available for this card.

There is another type of attack card. Dark cards were introduced into the game some months ago. there is really no difference between dark and light attack cards except for the fact that dark cards feature villains.

Posted Image

Card Synthesis

So that your cards reach their full potential you will want to use card synthesis. As we mention in chapter 1 in here you can fuse 10 low level cards to 1 card and increase its level.

All cards have a max level that they can reach, if you wish to increase your card's max level you will have to perform what is known as a limit cut.

To do this you will have to mix 2 identical cards. Doing this will increase the cards max limit by 5 levels.

Posted Image

For example by performing the synthesis in that image your Megara SR card max level would become 65. Doing this allows you to make your cards stronger.

Another benefit of limit cutting your cards is that once you limit cut them certain number of times and reach their max level, they become a High purity Card. When this happens, the background of your card will change and it will receive a boost on its stats. This state is in which the card reaches its full potential.

High Purity Card

Posted Image

This number lets you know how many more limit cuts a card requires to be able to be purified. This card is already purified, so it requires 0.

Using Yen Sid cards of the same Rarity in a synthesis will also perform a limit cut.

Chapter 3

The Art of Card Battles

Engaging the enemy.

Posted Image

When you place the pointer over a heartless, important information for the battle will show up. First you will see the Heartless level; below it you will see the name  and lastly you will see how much AP it will cost to battle this heartless. Stronger heartless cost more AP.

This icon will only appear in Heartless that are particularly strong and of high level. It is meant as a warning that that particular heartless is very strong.

When you click on the enemy the battle will start. In the game you always attack first. Your Avatar performs 3 attacks per turn, using 1 card for each attack. Every turn 3 cards will be randomly selected from your deck and used to attack. Once a card is used it won’t be available until all other cards have been used and your deck is shuffled again. This means that every card will only be used once and then after 3 turns they will be available again.

Posted Image

This shows the name of the attack your card performed and the damage inflicted on the heartless.

This shows if the Keyblade multiplier was activated and how much that particular multiplier was.

These are the three cards that will attack during this turn.

These are the skills that each card activated while attacking.

Once you perform your three attacks your turn will be over and the heartless turn will begin. During their turn Heartless can only perform 1 attack. Take notice that heartless can inflict critical hits on you, you can notice if a hit is critical or not by the sudden red flash on the screen as it attack hits you.

Multipliers.

An important part of the battling strategy in Kingdom Hearts X is the multipliers that your Keyblade has.

Posted Image

Leveling up your Keyblade will increase its multipliers and will allow your attack cards to inflict more damage. To do this you must collect different materials that are scattered through the different worlds you will visit. Just click on the sparkles to collect them.

To activate the multipliers your cards must be drawn in the correct sequence. Every multiplier has an icon that lets you know what type of attack card must be drawn to activate it.

Here is an example:

Posted Image

In this battle turn, my avatar is using the Lady Luck Keyblade. In order for those multipliers to be activated I need to draw a speed card, a magic card and another speed card. In this particular turn my second card is not a magic card and therefore did not activate the multiplier. But my first and last cards were speed cards which activated the multipliers, allowing them to increase their damage.

Maximizing your deck’s Potential.

Another important factor in battle is creating a deck adequate to the Keyblade that you are currently using.

Posted Image

For example: My avatar is currently using the Lady luck Keyblade which has magic and speed multipliers. So in order to battle in an effective way, my deck does not contain any power cards, because this particular Keyblade does not make power cards stronger.

Mix and match different Keyblades with different decks and see what strategy works best for you.

Continue?

Posted Image

Sometimes you will fac

e the inevitable event of having your butt kicked by a heartless. When this happens the continue screen will come up.

The right button lets you pay the AP cost again to keep battling the heartless until the bitter end and the right side button lets you go. You can use the continue option as many times as you want, but once your AP runs out if you click the left button it will ask you to restore your AP using potions. But if you are feeling patient just wait for your AP to restore itself and once you have enough continue your battle.

Posted Image

Click the red button under the type of potion you wish to use.

Posted Image

And then click on the left button as many times as needed to restore the desired AP amount. Each click will spend 1 potion. The screen lets you know how many potions you have in total and how much is your AP going to increase with each potion.

Attacking the Raid Boss

Defeating the raid boss is a team effort.  You and your teammates will attack together to try and vanquish these giant heartless.

Posted Image

Attacking the raid boss is very much like attacking a heartless, but with a few differences. To attack a raid boss you will use BP (battle points) to buy multipliers and increase the amount of damage you can do. Once you are out of BP you can no longer attack the raid boss. But we explained earlier how to restore your BP with those green buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Another difference is that when you attack the raid boss you are only allowed a total of 6 turns, which is using your deck 2 times, if you can survive that long of course.

Raid bosses also have levels. Every day the first raid boss to appear will be at level 1. And after that every time you defeat a raid boss, the level will increase. The level can increase by 10, 5 or 1. That depends completely on how fast your team can vanquish it. If the advent time reaches zero and the boss was not defeated then the boss will disappear and its level will remain the same. The higher the level of the raid boss the more Lux it will drop when you attack it.

The percentage bar also increases depending on how fast you defeated the past raid boss. Once it reaches 100% a special raid boss will appear.

Posted Image

These are called sub species and the good thing about them is that they give out twice as much Lux. The bad thing is that they are stronger than the regular raid bosses. Their advent time is also much shorter; you only have 30 minutes to defeat it before it vanishes.

Defeating raid bosses will give everyone in your team certain rewards, such as munny, moogle points and materials.

Guilt List Help

We already explained what the guilt list is and does in chapter 1, now we will explain how you can help other team members to finish their guilt list.

Posted Image

This is how your guilt list looks like. Now lets click the right tab.

Posted Image

In this tab you can see which teammates have helped you complete your guilt list and how much crystals they have gathered for you. Now you being the nice person who follows Sora’s example that you are, will be eagerto return the favor. To help others with their guilt list, you will have to go to the raid boss screen.

Posted Image

Click the middle tab on the left column. In here you can see all the members of your team. They are numbered on how much lux they have collected so far this week from highest to lowest. Find your best friend and click the big red button next to his or her avatar.

Posted Image

Doing it will open their guilt list. In here you can see what targets are not yet completed. If you think you can help your friend click the red button at the bottom of the screen. When you do that, the world selection screen will come up, select a world and start helping.

Posted Image

This is how your screen will look like while you are helping your friends with their guilt list. I f you ever want to check what targets are you looking for , just click the red button on the blue bar with your friends name. When you are helping your friends, the guilt crystals you get from a target will automatically be sent to them, but you will still gain Lux, munny and experience from defeating heartless.

LUT and GUT

Lux Up Time and Guilt Up Time are special times of the day when the guilt crystal and lux points rewards are increased. During Lux Up Time the total Lux points of every battle will be doubled and during Guilt Up Time you will always receive 5 guilt crystals from every guilt target you defeat.

Below are the times in which LUT and GUT are active. These are for the Japan time zone, so adjust this times to the time zone in which you live and take advantage of them.

Lux Up Time

Guilt Up Time

Posted Image

Card Skills

Another important part in the battle system are the card skills. You can obtain these from missions and from cards that you get in the raise draw. Skills make your cards have different effects that make them more powerful. To attach and detach skills, go to the skill screen.

Posted Image

Once you have selected the card that you want to attach or detach skills from you can get started. This Sora SR card has 2 skill slots that are empty. To attach a skill to it, just click the red button next to the chosen skill. This will make a new screen appear.

Posted Image

This screen lets you know how much munny will it cost to attach this skill. If you have the same skill more than once, you can attach it multiple times to the same card. Doing this will increase the skill level. When you are ready, press the red button on the left side to confirm the action.

Posted Image

Now your Sora SR card has the Attack Up II skill. If you want to see the effects and probablity of that skill to be activated during battle just put the pointer on top of it.

Posted Image

In here you can see that the Attack Up II skill your card has is level 1. the probability if being activated in battle is 10%, if you want to increase this percentage you will have to level up your skill by attaching it more times to your card. All skills can reach up to level 20.

Now lets try detaching a skill, which can be a little trickier.

Click on the right tab n top of your card t access the detaching screen.

Posted Image

Once you are here click on the red button next t the skill you want to detach. Once you click it, a new screen will appear.

Posted Image

Detaching skills is not always successful. You can use the arrows to increase or decrease the success percentage. Anything under 100% has a chance of loosing the skill. Once you are ready, click the left side red button to confirm the action.

If the odds happened to be in your favor, you will get the skill.

Posted Image

But if your percentage was under 100% you could loose the skill forever.

Posted Image

thank you so much

Thanks a bunch for the useful guide though!

You can get them at the Mog Trade shop, daily lottery, win them with events, limited missions or buy at the Shop (which uses real money). As far as I know all avatars are limited and you can only get them for a limited period of time. Right now at the Mog Trade shop there's a Halloween themed outfit and with the current event you can with other Halloween themed ones.

Oh I see! Thanks a bunch! And say, with the ongoing event, do you have to collect those halloween items found when defeating heartless? Or so I understood from the square's site.

Log out isn't necessary for the game, if you want to actually log out you'll have to do it through Yahoo! JP.
