I'm wondering what does Roxas mean when he said "Why he picked you?" Did he mean Terra? Post your theory here

It was a bad translation. "He" should be "it", which refers to the Keyblade. Roxas is questioning why the Keyblade chose Sora.

I read somewhere on this site that it was a translation error and that "he" meant the keyblade. Idk lol.

He meant the Keyblade because apparently Keyblades have their own sex now. But anyway I think it's a misinterpretation and it's meant to be "Why did it pick you".

However Terra's Lingering Will does think at first that Sora is Riku.

The original JP line (above) was passive, "tell me why you were chosen". If you wanted to be super-picky about its meaning, then yeah, keyblade was probably the intended interpretation (Roxas's "why did the keyblade choose me", Xigbar's "I guess that must be why the keyblade chose you"), but it's ambiguous enough that you can more generally read it as "why is Sora the hero when it's brought me nothing but pain and grief???", ie. "chosen one" [選ばれた or similar is used in fantasy fiction for such a concept]

 

(although I must say that it really only seems to be a bunch of guys on GameFAQs who insist on taking the English line super-literally...)

 

The JP did not specify an "it", it did not specify anything in particular; it was left to the player to interpret.

If we decide to go by the English interpretation instead of Japanese, then I think the most likely meaning would be "Why did Axel choose you?"After all, Axel had been trying to turn Sora into a Heartless in order to get Roxas back. But then he changed his mind and helped Sora instead. Roxas might have felt betrayed. Even Roxas's best friend chose Sora over him. It's possible this is what the English translators were referring to.

It could have be a translation error or (this is just speculation) he is referring to Riku or DiZ. Both of them did sort of chose Sora over Roxas if you think about it.
