June 3, 201411 yr I wonder if Kingdom Hearts III will have Riku and Kairi as playable characters also??? If Hayden Panettiere might not be able to voice Kairi again, will it Be Alyson Stoner again or Shailene Woodley or someone else??? All of the original actors will most likely return, considering it`s a big budget AAA game.
June 3, 201411 yr I would love to play as some other characters in some points during the game .For example : Maybe play as Kairi or Lea in the beginning training to explain being level one. Or cameos like in KH2 where you got to play Riku for a bit .I want to play Lea when he has his inevitable showdown with Isa . I don't want to just see that in cutscenes - it would be a waste of awesomeness. I think letting us get to play another player here or there would be fun but wouldn't take away from Sora being the main protagonist. Edited June 3, 201411 yr by Flaming Lea
June 3, 201411 yr I'm all for just having Sora as a playable character. I didn't quite like how there were multiple playable characters in BbS. The stories felt so short because of it. However, if they do it like they did in KH2 then I'll be okay with. Also, if there's multiplayer then I'd expect to have a bunch of characters to be playable. But for the main storyline, I just want Sora.
June 3, 201411 yr I want to play Lea when he has his inevitable showdown with Isa . Let's hope Nomura doesn't mess this up.
June 3, 201411 yr I would like to play as Sora, Master Riku, Kairi, Lea, Roxas, Terra, Ventus, Master Aqua and King Mickey. If that happened and they organized the way of playing as them, it would be my day.
June 3, 201411 yr I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I kind of want to go through the game with Sora, Donald and Goofy like old times...on the other, I kind of don't expect or even really want it fully. I dunno...
June 3, 201411 yr Since KH3 is a AAA game and Hayden enjoys working on the Kingdom Hearts games, then you can count on her reprising her role just as much as Haley or Jesse. IF for some reason she can't then do it then yeah, Alyson Stoner would probably be next on the list for Kairi. I don't know where you got Shailene Woodley from, but if we're in a situation where neither Hayden Panettiere or Alyson Stoner can reprise their roles for KH3, then it truly doesn't matter who steps in.
June 3, 201411 yr I hope Hayden will still voice Kairi. It's hard to imagine anyone else doing it in a numbered title. If it was a side-game, I would understand Alyson doing it in an in-between game, but for a numbered title? Yeah, Square, Disney, PLEASE give me the original cast, PLLLEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSE??? Oh yeah, and of course I want both Riku and Kairi to be playable...especially Kairi, I need to know how she fights! Edited June 3, 201411 yr by Hero of Light XIV
June 3, 201411 yr Master Riku needs to be playable. I don't see how anybody can object to that. I object to it.
June 3, 201411 yr Wellthenyouneedtogetburiedbrother Why's that? A couple reasons. The first being that both times when the main story's gameplay was split into multiple plotlines (BBS and DDD), the individual stories felt very rushed and under developed, and if the game had just focused on one playable story arc, I think it would have been more satisfying and rich. Second, I don't want Riku to be in the limelight again, because it essentially defeats the entire point of the first Kingdom Hearts, in which Sora goes from being the sidekick to being the real hero of the game. If Riku is again front and center, coupled with his newfound "Master" title (which I'm still not okay with), it means that the relationship between the two characters has reverted to where they began, where Riku takes the lead and Sora kind of helps. Third, I really want this to be Sora's story, not Sora and half a dozen others vying to try and steal the spotlight. The more time we spend with Sora as the focus, the more it keeps the story on track, and gives it more of a chance to develop with him as he goes on his biggest journey yet.

Yo, this is Kingdom Hearts III, and at the rate they're going, there's no excuse for anything to seem "rushed". And when was Sora ever a sidekick? He's been the hero since day one. Riku was just the antagonistic jerkwad that stopped being said jerkwad and became a better guy afterwards. And who said that Riku needs to be front and center? I mean, he's pretty much main protagonist number two, you can't deny that, but still, he's not gonna hog the story if we get to spend some time with him, shooting Dark Firagas at Heartless and shit. And you know what, screw the whole "Sora's story" argument. Sorry to be blunt, but if Nomura is gonna make a bunch of other freaking characters that are "connected" to Sora in some way, then Spiky needs to learn to share the spotlight. I don't want the story to be all over the place either, but my boys Roxas and Lea need to have some moments in III, they just have to.
June 3, 201411 yr Yo, this is Kingdom Hearts III, and at the rate they're going, there's no excuse for anything to seem "rushed". I mean rushed in a story telling sense, when we're not spending nearly enough time with the characters during key moments, or that the journey their supposed to be going on practically whizzes by. The Disney worlds in both BBS and DDD are practically just cameos as opposed to what they were in KH1, where you actually get to spend a good amount of time with the characters and world and get to understand them much better. And when was Sora ever a sidekick? He's been the hero since day one. Riku was just the antagonistic jerkwad that stopped being said jerkwad and became a better guy afterwards. It was one of the themes in KH1. Riku is the strongest, toughest, most athletic, most ambitious, and, frankly, most likely to be the hero if this were any other JRPG, culminating in the fact that he's the one who's originally supposed to be wielding the keyblade. Sora is more of a goof off, a bit less reliable, and more of a comic relief guy, yet he winds up being the hero in the end because he can appreciate the strengths of the heart far better than Riku can. Spiky needs to learn to share the spotlight. He's been doing nothing but since KH2. Frankly, having a game that keeps the focus on Sora would be almost a novelty.

I know what you meant, and I meant not rushing in both storytelling AND overall production. That wasn't even relevant until the second to last world and Riku already proved he was a jackass that didn't deserve it anyway, so I'm not feeling that. Oh so, the whole Riku and King Mickey thing as well as everything else needs to be brushed to the side so that Sora and his furry friends can be the front runners like they have been since the very beginning of the series? You really don't want to play as Master Riku or possibly King Mickey? You really just want to repeat the same formula that we had in the first two main games? Ehhhh.... I can't get behind this, man.

No, to reiterate, I don't particularly want to play as Riku, or Mickey. I would rather use the formula I enjoyed in KH1 and 2 rather than the formula I disliked that was used in BBS and DDD.

I would rather use the formula I enjoyed in KH1 and 2 rather than the formula I disliked that was used in BBS and DDD. Well who said that playing as more than just Spiky Mcdoofpants in the game was gonna be like that? There's other ways of handling that kind of thing. It can at least be a simple retread of the less than a minute gameplay of Riku we got in KH2, only this time it'll last longer with more playability options. Heck, they could do the idea I had about using a Marvel Alliance type deal and being able to switch between Sora and Riku in real time. Given this context, however, they wouldn't be together all the time cuz they both got their own shit to take care of; instead, maybe, they just be in the same world every once in a while and then the option is presented to us in that instance. Or something else entirely.
June 4, 201411 yr Of course, Riku can be a playable character because Riku and Mickey are my favorites. Master Riku needs to be playable. I don't see how anybody can object to that. Riku is a true keyblade master so he should have his adventure. Edited June 4, 201411 yr by Julian Bernardino Ruiz
June 4, 201411 yr Master Riku needs to be playable. I don't see how anybody can object to that. Well, I did say Riku's playable because he is a true master and my favorite. And so is King Mickey. He should have a storyline.
June 4, 201411 yr Well, I did say Riku's playable because he is a true master and my favorite. And so is King Mickey. He should have a storyline. And I agree. They're already confirmed to be looking for Keyblade wielders, might as well throw in some playability to the mix.
June 5, 201411 yr I WANNA PLAY AS KAIRI!!! And I'm pretty sure that Hayden Panettire will come back as Kairi. I'm trying to figure out that if Hayden does come back, will she also voice Xion or will Alyson Stoner voice Xion so the two of them sound a little different.
I wonder if Kingdom Hearts III will have Riku and Kairi as playable characters also???
If Hayden Panettiere might not be able to voice Kairi again, will it Be Alyson Stoner again or Shailene Woodley or someone else???
