I'm playing Final Fantasy VI now

Recommended Posts

And hooooly shit this is AWESOME ^_^....like wow I've been surprised,I know I'd like the game when I play it but now I even love it more

I'm now at the point where we meet Sabin and later on the party gets separated after that raft segment and I'm loving every second of this game so far.

Also, this soundtrack right here sealed it for me.Nobou Uematsu if officially my favorite video game composer of all time

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFoGXzSbDw8

It's like Nobou has hands of golds for music

Though one thing,if you're gonna play FF6....DON'T PLAY THE PS1 VERSION AT ALL!!!

For some reason this version has slowdowns everytime you save the game, the transition to battles is slower than the SNES version by a lot and the possible glitches that you can encounter in the PS1 version are more than the SNES version

Just pick the SNES,GBA or the Virtual console version of the game. The only reason I got the PSP version just because of the convenience of having it on my PsP.....I tried the iOSAndroid version from my friend's iOS and it felt so awkward to control and the new sprites are weird and not as appealing to me as the FFIV PsP version sprites

I have the Virtual ConsoleGBA and PS1 version of the game currently

I'll alternate between FFVI and FFX as of now so it might take sometime for me before I attempt to review VI....I might finish 9 first so I hope you guys are looking forward to that.....assuming I have any degree of well-known to begin with

FFVI's easily my favorite. Everything about it just feels great, I can't get enough of it. I only have the Virtual Console port, but that's honestly all I need. The original experience seems like it's the best to me. :D

Nobuo is amazing, most of the soundtracks in the game I love for a reason lol.

You have still much to the game tho.

A tip for where you are is when you play sabin story, be sure to recuit someone at the bar, he will leave after some areas and may randomaly leave after random ecounters(try to avoid them as much as you can), but when you get to somewhere where you'll really need him, he won't leave.

You mean Shadow?

I saw him when I was playing as Edgar in the South Figaro village, but I hesitated to talk to him fearing that if I recruited him early he'll run away and won't come back as some people told me

lol wut.

You were told wrong, or confused with somthing else that happens in the end of the first "half" of the game.

Even if he runs after encounter you can recuit him the next times you meet him later.

And yes, I meant him, just didn't want to spoll you.

I'm glad that you've found the Final Fantasy VI love.  It's my absolute favorite game in the series, and perhaps my very favorite of all time.  The place where you're currently at in the game is one of my favorites as well, just, uh, beware of Terra's party.  Banon likes to die on everyone, you see. : P

For me, though, that game is incredible in so many areas.  The soundtrack is awesome, the plot is sensational, the characters memorable . . . .   If only every Final Fantasy game were like this one!

I have it on psn too and I think that one is fine.

Well it's not unplayable it's still good to play but it's the most broken version of the game as it has load times that didn't exist in other versions and slow battle transition along with some glitches here and there

it's still good but if I would recommend a version, get the SNES,Virtual Console or the Gameboy Advance version

I never had a glitch. But I don't want to play the GBA version because the sound is worse in that version.

Dangit, I keep trying to get into this game, and I know that I'd love it if I could just sit down with it for a while.

Like, I've literally tried two or three times, and I can never get myself to stay interested long enough to get past that town after the castle goes underground or something like that.

I know I would love it if I managed to stay involved in it, but I keep getting distracted with other games :/

I know; it's graphics aren't quite like that of recent games, but it's story and characterization is truly awesome once you get into it.  I especially like the SNES version, namely since I felt the English translation was a bit better in that one.

Especially Kefka's lines

like "SON OF A SUBMARINER" or "I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE YOU"

Kefka is awesome

Oh, yes, Kefka's the best. : P  I disliked what they did to him in Dissidia, but that's another subject for another time, methinks.  They also changed his final lines before engaging him in battle, which I didn't care for all too heavily.  I preferred his original quote better.  Locke's also an incredible character; gotta love the terrible thief!

Speaking of Locke,I can barely steal anything with him in FF6

Though he's a great character ^_^ and I love his theme

I seldom try to steal with Locke, actually, for reasons even I'm not too sure on.  I do hoard my items, though, and probably didn't use more than two elixirs until the very end of the game. : P

And yes, Locke does have an incredible theme, as does Rachel.  Nothing beats Dancing Mad, however. : D

The accesories helps with the thiev ability. Anyway but.. what about Relm´s theme? It´s quite good as well.
