False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

"I don't want to fight YOU." He said. "You are too cute for a war like this." He drew his blade "But I will not let rebels distup the peace by bringing darkness here!"

  • Author

A compliment mixed with a threat- that's a new one. Still, I will not give up!

"Bring darkness," I begin as I charge towards him, "that's not why we're here, we're here to remove the light's tyranny so this world can continue without intervention from either one of us!" My Keyblade at the ready, I swing it at him.

Kirito kept a defensive strategy against her onslaught. "You would help by joining us!"

Suddenly, all of the orbs flashed at once, creating several pillars of light that exploded with an astonishing force. The light swept over the field and momentarily resonated with a deafening sound. The attack, while having no intent to harm Horizon's allies, was aimed at those around them that held Darkness in their hearts.

Harumi flinched, dropping her katana again. It burned just touching the dark weapon.

"This attack will suffice to incapacitate those who dare hold darkness." Horizon muttered, looking at Light. His brow furrowed. His attack seemed to do nothing upon the girl.

  • Author

His weapon deflecting my own, I step back again, waiting for him to take the offensive.

"Help you?" I get out, glancing over to Horizon who appears to be looking my way, then look back at the man in front of me, "I wanted to help you guys- to become an Enforcer just like everyone else in my family, but the Enforcers don't help the worlds, they just force their dogmatic views upon them! When I saw how you all merely conquered worlds and killed anyone with the slightest bit of darkness within them, I followed my parents' example and decided against joining you."

This probably isn't the best place to tell my life story, nor will it really sway either if them I'm sure, but oh well- what's done is done.

"...I want the worlds to exist without either of us forcing our views on them, that's why I fight- to remove the Enforcers from each world, then go to the next world and repeat the process until you're all back in The Land of Departure or wherever you hail from!"

I take a defensive stance with my Keyblade, my eyes darting back and forth between the two of them.

Ren cried out in pain due to the attack. Or was it the corruption? He looked at his hand, now seemingly corrupted, giving a dark hue.

Kirito looked at the girl. "So adamant in you beliefs…" he still kept a defensive stance.

Harumi growled, looking at Kirito.

"Who...are you..anyways..? Never seen you before." She said through clenched teeth, wincing from the pain of a broken arm. Horizon's magic didn't help--her skin burned and it felt like the magic was practically tearing her soul apart. "Where are you from..?" She then said, giving Kirito a truly hateful glance, "I would...recognize some like you...yes?"

"My name is Kirito, and I come for-" he paused. He couldn't remember what the name was… he'd lived there all his life … strange… must be the battle was sending adrenalin to his head, causing him to not think straight… yea… he shook his head "Where I'm from isn't that important! Stop distracting me!" He teleported to Harumi, slashing at her eye.

  • Author

Watching the Enforcer, he goes over to Harumi and slashes her with his weapon!

"NO!" I cry, shooting a burst of Fire from my Keyblade in his direction, following it up with a Sliding Dash aimed to knock him back.

Kirito dodged the fire, and parried the attack. "Miss, please stay out of this!" He said sternly.

  • Author

My attacks parried, his words do little to deter me. "If you attack my friends, how can you expect me to just sit around and watch?!" I swing my Keyblade at him numerous more times but he deflects each attack I throw at him. Still, I swing regardless- I will not let them hurt my friends so long as I can do something to prevent it.

"Because you seem to have great potential…" he said. "And you remind me of someone…" he saw her face some where…

  • Author

"Remind you of someone?" I stop attacking him momentarily to ponder this comment, who could I possibly remind him of? Snapping out of my daze, I take a defensive stance once more, "Are you just trying to throw me off by saying random things?"

Kirito shook his head. That was probably nothing. It was just his mind playing tricks on him. Horizon was right. This battle was taking too long. "Look lady, I just don't want to hurt you."

  • Author

"Then walk away," I tell him, my eyes going back and forth between him and Horizon, "Port Royal belongs to its people again- this world is no longer under Enforcer control."

"I'm sorry mam." He drew his blade. "I can't do that. My family won't be safe as long as your existence."

  • Author

"I'm not looking to kill anyone, so if your family's with the Enforcers the worst that'll happen to them is a few nicks and scratches," I tell him, retaining my defensive position, "I've got family I gotta deal with too."

"Well, it seems we are at an impasse." This conversation reminded him of an analogy. Something about an object…and a force. "Come at me."

Horizon's attack finally subsided. Harumi was on the ground, clutching her face. Horizon sighed, seeing the only two left being Light and Kirito. A little surprising--Horizon had doubted Kirito had such a skill, no less being able to deal with Harumi and hold his ground against the odd rebel.

The Captain's body was exhausted and drained; using too much energy was starting to take its toll. "Kirito." He said, stepping up to the Enforcer and the Rebel, "If I may. I have not been trying hard enough. Still one rebel remains." He glanced at Light, "And so allow me to finish this."

"I-I…" His hands trembled for no reason. For some reason, he didn't want this girl to die. Who was this girl? "Y-You..." The image flashed in his head, her face. He saw horizon get closer. "C-can't we turn her in?"

  • Author

I keep my gaze darting back and forth between the two. I myself have grown tired from this bout, but Horizon looks tired as well. If I don't have to fight though then all the better, I'll just let them figure it out between themselves.

(Gone for like three days... What happened for Lyon?)

(Whatever you want? Say she got hit by the blast an knocked out?)

(Well, what happened to Ren?)

(He's kinda unconisious… fought the rage)
