False Light, Consuming Darkness (Roleplay)

Posted

(Optional Soundtrack)

In a timeline parallel to the one in Kingdom Hearts, the Keyblade War has come to an end. The difference in this timeline is, instead of the darkness taking over and the lights in children’s hearts bringing the worlds back, the light is utterly victorious. The Keyblade Wielders who sought to obtain the X-Blade have been crushed- with those who wield the light believing themselves to be those chosen by Kingdom Hearts.

The world has been broken apart by the terrible war, but the residents of each individual world pay little heed to this detail. They go about their lives, not troubling themselves with matters outside their own worlds now.

This would be fine enough, but those who won the war have become drunk with power. The Keyblade Wielders of light have lost sight of their former selves, becoming tyrants and dictators who despise the dark greatly. Because of this, they stop at nothing to destroy anyone with even the tiniest bit of darkness in their heart; they do this in an effort to prevent a second Keyblade War from ever happening.

This has brought peace, in theory, but the truth of the matter is everyone who bends to the will of those who wield light do so only out of fear. Is this true peace? Should the light be allowed to control the worlds simply because of their former righteousness?

A small group of rebels, some the descendents of those who fought, died, or merely lived during the Keyblade War, have come together for a common cause: to put an end to the light’s tyranny. Situated on a small, forgotten chunk of a former world, the seemingly abandoned mansion in which they reside houses each and every one of them. It is from here they travel to other worlds to bring back true peace, and also here where they go to rest up or merely kick back with one another. This outpost has been given the designation Garland Hub, for one of its members merely named it after the first thing she could see.

Meanwhile, those who fight for the light and protect the X-Blade have made their base in a world called The Land of Departure. It is here where veterans of the Keyblade War and their students reside, acting as a base of sorts and is primarily the light’s equivalent to Garland Hub.

Having come from various different backgrounds, the rebels have trained and honed their skills so that they may begin to make a difference. Those of the light merely learn from their Masters and travel forth to the worlds as enforcers.

Those who wish to remove the light from power, and those who wish to govern with it…just what drives them? And whose resolve will win out in the end and ultimately shape the worlds and their inhabitants? The answer lies within each of their individual decisions…

Okay, so here are the rules I can think of:

[*]No God Modding

[*]You can be multiple characters and even have characters on either side of the conflict

[*]You can be an Apprentice or a Master should you choose Enforcer, but should you choose Rebel, you need to be an Apprentice who may or may not have experience- the rebels have no adult leadership or Masters at the time being.

[*]Romance is allowed, but must be PG-13 at most

[*]Please refrain from too much foul language

[*]You can’t kill someone else’s character unless you both contact me that this is something you both are okay with- I don’t want anyone getting bullied >:S

[*]There are NO Original Kingdom Hearts characters in this timeline- so no Sora, Roxas, Terra, Xehanort, etc. They did not exist before the current timeline occurs either, so they cannot be referenced.

[*]Disney characters exist in their respective worlds, you CANNOT kill them unless you pm me and I approve it. I would probably only approve it if their death is canon, so don’t go trying to slay the 7 Dwarfs xP

I think that’s it, I’ll add to this post if it’s necessary! ^^

How long have I been laying here? A minute? An hour? I have no sense of time here in Garland Hub, as the sky is always dark. The worlds illuminate the sky as stars, but never cease to hang there above us- there is no daytime here anymore. Perhaps this is the side effect of this world being incomplete?

There’s only a small chunk left of this mysterious world, and on it sits the mansion in which we all reside. We’re pretty different, all here for an array of reasons, but we all share a common goal: to overthrow the Enforcers.

They’ve been bullying each of the worlds and their inhabitants, so I say enough is enough. I will fight, to put an end to this false peace, and remove the fear that governs everyone to act like sheep under the Enforcer’s rule.

Sitting up, I throw my legs over the side of the bed and stand up- I’m ready, I’ve been training myself for years and honing the techniques Mom and Dad taught me…I need to start making a difference.

I open the door to my room as quietly as possible, as the others are all sleeping in their own rooms- or at least I assume they are. I don’t want to trouble them, so I’ll go out on my own for this mission: to finally begin making our presence known, and let the Enforcers know they can’t keep getting away with acting like dictators.

Weaving my way through the halls, I make it to the ground floor and head out the front doors. There’s a porch, but beyond that is merely space- the chunk of land this mansion sits atop is only enough to actually hold the mansion; the grounds that once surrounded it have disappeared completely. Maybe this is why the Enforcers don’t know of this place- as it is simply a beaten up, old looking mansion in the middle of space…or maybe they just don’t care.

Whatever the reason is, it’s no concern of mine at the time being. Summoning my Keyblade, I’m about to turn it into a Keyblade Glider when I stop and hesitate- should I really go out to a new world all on my own? I mean it’s not entirely new, Dwarf Woodlands they’re called, I’ve visited there once or twice, but now I plan on going there to actually pick a fight with the Enforcers. Should I really tackle this challenge on my own? I look back at the lobby of the mansion, wondering if I should see if anyone else wants to go…

"Going somewhere?" Said Ren, appearing out of the shadows. "Now, what is your mission? Why are you here?"

I jump when I hear Ren- where did he come from?

Turning to properly face him, my Keyblade disappears in an array of black flames.

"I'm here for the same reason as you: to stop the Enforcers," I say simply, getting fired up, "I've had enough with training, it's time we head out and liberate a world or two!"

"Hmm..." He sensed the sentries. He activated his blades. "You are right..." He jumped over her, and took the 2 sentries down. "I will save you the trouble of the front guards." He shot 4 blasts at 2 more of the henchmen. "You sneak around."

My eyes widen as I watch the events unfold before me.

"Wait, they're here?!"

Sure enough, he's fighting Enforcers out on the porch...guess we didn't have to make a move to get their attention after all.

Listening to Ren's instructions, I dart down a hallway leading out of the lobby and open up a window. "Sneak around...I can sneak...maybe..." a little unsure, I begin to waver, but shake my head. "No- this is what you've been training for!"

Summoning my Keyblade, I toss it out the window and jump after it- watching as it transforms into a Glider. I'd take the time to describe it, but know Ren needs my help!

Flying away from the mansion, or rather Garland Hub, I spin around and head for the front. Sure enough, there's at least four Enforcers perched atop the roof of the porch while Ren fights the rest on the actual porch.

Tightening my grip around the handle of my glider, my speed increases as I soar right towards the armored Enforcers- catching them off guard!

I successfully knock all four of them against the outer wall of the mansion, knocking them out. It seems like that Keyblade Armor of their's didn't do a whole lot if they're unconscious just from that.

Suddenly, the Enforcers I had just knocked out all begin to disappear. Not like wielders of light do when they're defeated, and fade into light itself, but rather they become distorted and fuzzy, eventually disappearing altogether.

Puzzled, I fly back a bit to look down at the porch- sure enough the Enforcers down there appear fuzzy and disappear one after another as well.

"That's...weird," I comment, when I realize Ren is no where in sight! "Ren? ...REN?! ...Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!" I call out, but he doesn't respond...very weird.

I fly back into the main lobby of the mansion, my Keyblade disappearing, and do a quick check of the place. Everyone's doors are closed, all still sleeping I imagine. Ren's door is closed too...he probably just went back to his room. Not wanting to intrude, I head back down to the lobby and step out onto the porch, ready to offically begin our first mission. If the Enforcers have found us, it's time for us to make our move, but by 'us' I mean 'me'- I'll make the first move so the others needn't trouble themselves.

(So, what happens to Ren? Is this digital?)

(So, what happens to Ren? Is this digital?)

(I'm wondering the same thing o.o The Enforcers were digital so to speak, but Ren is real and there- we're just at the mansion that acts as our base, I thought ya went off for the night so I was gonna continue the story- sorry I'm new at this xDx)

Reflecting on it though, after that fight, however brief it was, maybe it would be better to get some rest before heading off to Dwarf Woodlands...

Deciding this to be the best course of action, I head back upstairs to my room and close the door. I'll probably be able to better help the citizens of that world after a few Z's anyway.

Laying back down on my bed, I close my eyes, allowing myself to relax and descend into the warmth of sleep...

(It is fine. I did doze off. Might do it again. Painkillers from surgery will do that.)

Ren thought to himself." It is such a peculiar exit strategy... Like they were toyng with us.." He walked to his room, and went to sleep.

Daniel walks in, looking over at Ren. He nods hsi head to him. "Hey..." He says.

Ren woke up from the sound of Dan. "Hello, Daniel. How was your mission?"

"Tiring." He says, sauntering up to Ren. He scowls. "I brought back somebody with me. She's one of us." He moves aside to reveal a petite girl. "Her name's Three." He glances back at the girl.

"Three?" Said Ren. "Strange..." He got off the bed, and walked to the girl, hand outstretched. "Hello, my name is Renton, or Ren, as you have heard..."

She's quiet, shy, revealing no signs of emotion. She stands there, unmoving and looking uninterested. "..."

"Okay..." Ren said, retracting his hand. "Tell me, why are you called three? Are you the third of something?"

Daniel sighs and shakes his head. "Don't even try. SHe' doesn't talk much. All sh ever gave me was her name and that's it."

"Okay, where are we gonna let her sleep?" He said to Daniel. What a bad day to have an unkempt room. He wondered what happens to her family.

"Well, Light has a spare bed in her room so we can move Three there if that's okay..." He replies, slipping his hands in his pockets. He watches as Three saunters away and disappears, maybe looking for a place to rest. "Okay, goodnight..." He then looks back at Ren and sighs. "Now that new girl's gone..." He instantly sounds serious, his red eyes humourless. "We need to talk."

"Of course." Ren let Daniel inside. "What grave news has befallen us today?" He chuckles "You rarely see anything of joy in this business..."

"Don't even start with me..." He scowls. "I heard you and Light had a run in with the Enforcers today...." he clenches his fists. "What the hell was that? Are you trying to get us all killed?"

"She wanted to prove herself." Ren said in a deadpan voice "And she would have attacked either way. So what is the point of stopping her?"

"You know damn well that none of us are ready!" He barks at him, his teeth gritting. He's obviously pissed. "Damn well, Ren!"

"What do you expect us to do then?" Rentons voice never raised an octave. Rarely did he scream. "What do you define as 'ready'?"

"I thought you said we would wait until their defenses are low." He glares deeply at him, his red eyes gleaming with anger.
