Welcome to "The World"! A Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game(VRMMORPG), and the biggest and best video game in the world. Everyone who plays it, that's the hundreds of millions of people playing it, says that nothing can top it. But what no one seems to remember is the coma incidents that have happened with The World. They've happened ever since about the time The World started up in 2006, and every single coma incident was covered up by CC Corp, the developer of The World. Soon, everybody forgot about the comas. Flash forward to 3035, and The World is still going strong. In fact, CC Corp is releasing a new update for The World on June 20 of this year. CC Corp claims that it will help introduce new players into The World, including the removal of a once common trend in The World, Player Killing, or PKing. Along with the new update, they're releasing a combo pack of the ALTIMIT VRGlasses operating system, a wireless ALTIMIT game controller, and a copy of The World, all at a discounted price at 75% off, only on the day of it's release, the same day as the update, June 20. Now, millions more have bought a copy of the game, and logged on to play. However, about an hour into the release of the new update, an incident happened. In this incident, many players couldn't log out of The World. They were stuck there. Not only that, but they could actually feel stuff, including pain. You were one of these many people. You, along with several others, will try and find out who--or what--caused this, and put a stop to it, to hopefully find a way out of The World.
Rules:
1. No godmodding
2. No swearing above a T rating
3. No sexual stuff above a T rating
4. At least one character
5. None of your characters should be a character from the .Hack universe, such as Kite, BlackRose, or Orca.
6. If you don't post within one week of your last post, then I'll have to remove your character(s) from the game, unless you say you won't be able to post for a while. This is to keep the RP flowing, so that no one has to wait around for a character.
Rule not necessary(You don't have to follow these rules, but I recommend you do, so everyone can have fun):
1. Have at least two characters. If you can't handle two or more characters, then just make one.
2. Have your characters interact with someone else's
3. If you don't have that much knowledge of the .Hack franchise, start with level 1 characters. If you're familiar with .Hack, then you have every right to make a character that's a veteran at The World, though you still have the option of a level 1 character.
4. Don't join this RP if you think you won't have fun.
Character sheets & explanation of each of them:
Username: The name that your character has in The World
Actual name: Actual name of the character playing The World
Starting Level: The level your character has at the beginning of the RP
Class: There are six classes in this new version of The World, and all of them are the original six: Blade Master(Katanas), Heavy Axeman(Axes), Heavy Blade(Giant Broadswords), Pole Arms(Lances), Twin Blades(Two Shortswords), and Wavemasters(Magic users with staves). Each one has different weapons to strike with, but class also affects armor. The only thing shared is that each class can use both offensive and healing magic. However, Wavemasters focus on this, and have more powerful magic as a result.
Race: A new feature added to the new update, characters now have a race they can choose from. The five races are Humans, Elves, Bulks, Human Lions, and Human Lizards. Humans are just your standard humans. Elves look like humans, except they have pointed ears, and are usually a bit shorter. Bulks have fat bellies, but also come with muscled arms. Human Lions and Human Lizards are just that--Humanoid Lions and Lizards. Race itself doesn't have that much to do with the game itself, but some races can only equip certain weapons and armor.
Element: In The World, each character has a certain element, represented by a marking somewhere on their body, where everyone can see. These elements are Fire, Water, Earth, Wood, Thunder, and Darkness. Element affects what you're strong against, and what you're weak against. Fire is strong against Water, while Water is strong against Fire. Earth is strong against Wood, while Wood is strong against Earth. Thunder is strong against Darkness, while Darkness is strong against Thunder. Each weapon also has an element on it. If you equip a weapon that matches your element, then you deal double damage. If you face an enemy of Fire, and you're Water, and you have a Water weapon, then you'll do quadruple damage with the weapon equipped. Just as well, armor also comes with elements tacked onto them. Equipping something of Water quadruples your resistance to Water. However, equipping a weapon of Darkness also gives you an edge on Thunder. And equipping something of Fire makes it so that you don't take as much damage with your elemental weakness thrown in. Your character, given you choose to play a level 1 hero at the start, automatically has an element-neutral weapon, and armor that's resistant to his element's weakness. Also, as for the marking for the element, you can have it anywhere you want, in any design, as long as someone can see it just by taking a look at the character. Just as well, Elements have colors, to distinguish what the element is. Fire=Red, Water=Blue, Earth=Green, Wood=Brown, Thunder=White, and Darkness=Black. Make sure your character only has one element.
Personality: How does your character act?
Bio: Give a bit of backstory to your character. Why are they playing? Is there anything in particular you'd like to mention about them? Put stuff like that right here!
One last thing. At the end of your post, say "Data Drain", to make sure you read through the rules, and explanations. I'll post my characters later! Have fun!
