i'm getting sick of kingdom hearts being so censored

Posted

I know that it's associated with disney and they have to review the content but wtf. disney's allowed pirates of the Caribbean which has a lot of suggestible themes. Like for example if axel fought isa and was down on the ground after losing i would expect at least a little trickle blood. and in one of the scenes in 358/2 axel says "something about this just stinks" that just doesn't seem like something that character would say. Demyx says damn in kh2 and that seems appropriate considering his character. I just feel like it has been censored a little too much. like, green blood? srsly

the Final Mix version of KH2 has removed all the censorship....cause Japan think we're pussies I think

It's perfect the way it is, I don't think there should be blood and some use (or over use) of cussing... So to me it's completely fine

im not saying i want those things so badly, but it being a little less "for the kids" considering most of the audience is teens-adults. i mean a teen rating wouldn't hurt it. like in kh2 i expected jack sparrow to be a little more raunchy

Yeah I kinda see where you are going with this, but I still think it's fine. I mean it's Kingdom Hearts, it would be weird to see blood (well very little blood wouldn't make a difference) in it. That's just my opinion ;)

i guess like one of the main things is just, like why can't a character just die? Like xion, roxas, and namine, they all had great what we thought were deaths until we found out "oh no one dies its all good" roxas and namine were still alive anyways and kh2's ending was great because we knew they were still alive in spirit but they were pretty much never going to come back

since when did Demyx say Damn?

in his hollow bastion battle

That's one thing that also bug me about Kingdom Hearts,I don't need blood, but I would like to see more stuff like Vexen and Zexion's death and the Xehanorts should win once in a while to put some tension in the serie.

But I guess its not something that can be easily done when you're working with Disney.

yeah, i understand having tons of blood and cussing makes it more immature if anything, but just to see the series grow up a bit and be more final-fantasyish would make me happy.

Hydra's green blood was present in the Hercules movie...and that movies has been watched by millions of kids

I do find it a bit frustrating that these things to get censored or altered because often the Disney movies are often much more violent. People die! Blood happens! Clayton from Tarzan (which isn't in the KH series anymore but that's not the point) had his neck snapped by getting entangled in vines and falling to his doom! It's not the biggest thing, but extreme censorship  feels like an unnecessary harness on Kingdom Hearts' presentation.

I think Aqua's back was censored as well. Because, y'know, those kids with the back fetishes will become sexual predators if they saw that.

you got that from yuriofwind xD

I agree but in 2 in Port royal its pretty lame how Jack is stabbed for no apparent reason, and is just simply "pushed" into the moonlight

Yeah I agree on that, they could've made that scene a whole lot better

Who?

Yeah.

Because mini skirts and midriffs aren't suggestive.

And because people aren't intelligent enough to express strong emotion without cussing.

And because, most of all, Kingdom Hearts is entirely logical in every other aspect.

I totally agree.

I don't want Kingdom Hearts to really be 'mature'. It's supposed to be a kid's game at heart. It's SE paired with Disney, how could it not be? The maturity of Kingdom Hearts is in it's themes and message, not in how violent the scenes are or how many cuss words a character can say.

Be that as it may, I have to agree somewhat. The censoring in KHII seemed a bit excessive. Like how during Axel's death scene, the little flames were edited out. Or how Daisy beats up Donald when he returns to Disney Castle - which is to say, slightly perverted looking to anti-climactic. But some things I think are fine censored the way they are.

On that note, was Shiki's clothing censored in DDD? I cannot remember any censorship in her case, which is understandably surprising.

In response to the original post, I completely agree that the series needs to have less censorship. In the case of Re: CoM, when Lexaeus slammed Riku against the ceiling of Castle Oblivion, I think that a trickle of blood coming from the side of Riku's mouth would have been suitable at that moment. There was also the moment when Axel gave a mild curse in the original CoM, which, not surprisingly, was deleted from his dialogue in Re: CoM.

The dialogue of the series does not need to go the way of Shadow the Hedgehog (meaning that it would be unexpectedly rude), but it definitely needs to be less strict in that department.
