We have introduced a new "Awards" system on KH13. Now, we are able to easily award users based on their accomplishments and contributions to KH13. Awards appear on member profiles on their own tab, and also next to that member's posts.

 

The first award we have implemented is the 'News Contributed' award. We were previously adding this to people's profiles manually, but this has now been transferred over to the new Awards system.

 

Second, we have changed the Translation Team staff team into an award, 'Translations Contributed'. We feel like this makes more sense than it being a staff team, since some members of the team become inactive, and we still want to recognize their contributions. Also, translators don't require any elevated permissions, so this makes more sense while still giving them the credit and exposure they deserve.

 

Those are the two awards that we have already, but we plan to start adding more in the coming months, and expanding on this idea. Feel free to share your ideas for any awards that we should implement.

Can you make 'Best Topic Awards','Best Roleplaying Awards' and 'Best Forum Games Awards' on this forum?,I can feel that it would be cool IMO...

I don't think the "Best Avatar/Signature" or something like that etc etc would be a good idea.

Your avatar and signature change and it would be too hard of an award to give out. 

 

I'd say you can give awards to people who create AMV's (like that kh13 AMV contest??) or have popular Art Threads on the site.

I suppose I could give an award for the winner of The GMV Contest of 2014 and maybe past winners like 2012 and 2013.

Same thing goes for me, when my thread about the Famitsu interview became the news topic and I wasn't credited with an award either.

Awards system is still a work in progress. And the award system isn't automatic, it's manual.

At the moment we haven't managed to make an automatic system yet, also, we have not yet implemented any guidelines for news writers as to when they should give awards. Thanks for the feedback, I can see that it's important to give awards when possible to promote the system, so we'll be implementing something like this later on.

 

For now, if you've contributed news and would like an award for it, just contact me or Sora96 and we'll give it to you.

Sure, we'll have this done for you soon. There will just be a bit of a delay while we work out the award giving system for other staff members, currently only the Administrators can do it but I'm going to use your award to test it for other user groups. So, within a couple of days, you should have your award.

 

If anyone else thinks they have earned an award, feel free to let us know.

I agree, Best Avatar/Sig changes too often as well is subject of an individual's perspective, like a Dr Who Judge would love a member's Dr Who Sig, but I wouldn't care.  Too much bias would be involved on personal interests and likes.  Monthly/quarterly art competitions would be better where you can submit one piece that stays there and you can change your sig/avy whenever you wish.
