The Ship: Some Friendly Backstabbing

So this is a little something I thought up while tryying to fall asleep one night. It promptly kept me awake for another hour as I congratulated myself for thinking of it. I got this idea from a game (called The Ship, incidentally) in which you murder different targets, and from the board game Clue. This RP is a fusion of the two. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I enjoyed thinking of it.

 

Here's the general concept: you guys are on a cruise ship. One of you is the murderer, one is the victim, and the rest of you are bystanders. The victim knows he/she is being hunted, but does not know who the murderer is. The murderer is trying to kill the victim, but DOES NOT know who the victim is. The bystanders know nothing. A match will go on until the murderer kills the victim or the murderer is exposed.

 

Each of you will fill out a character sheet like this one:

At a certain point, I will close down the sign-ups (don't worry if you don't make it into a match, there will be more), and PM each player to tell them whether they are the murderer, victim, or a bystander. I will assign the murderer a weapon that they must use to kill the victim. I will also put some of you into groups that are on the ship together. Every other person, including the victim, will then give their character an object that could be used as a weapon, and give a reason for being on the ship with that object (edit your profiles for this and repost them). The murderer will do this too, but obviously already has an object. I will start the match when everybody is ready. It will then be the murderer's job to kill the victim and the victim's job to avoid being killed. THE MURDER MUST BE IN AN AREA WITH NO BYSTANDERS TO KILL THE VICTIM!! IF THE MURDERER ATTEMPTS TO KILL THE VICTIM WHERE PEOPLE CAN SEE OF HEAR, IT WILL COUNT AS EXPOSING THE MURDERER!! VICTIM, IF THE MURDERER ATTEMPTS TO KILL YOU WHEN YOU ARE UNAWARE OF THE MURDERER, THE MURDERER AUTOMATICALLY SUCCEEDS!! YOU CANNOT DEFEND YOURSELF UNLESS YOU ARE AWARE OF THE MURDERER WHEN THE ATTEMPT HAPPENS!! YOU ARE AWARE OF THE MURDERER IF YOU KNOW WHO THE MURDERER IS AND THE MURDERER HAS NOT TAKEN YOU BY SURPRISE!! It is also the victim's job to get help in exposing the murderer. The victim can ask bystanders for help, but runs the risk of accidentally informing the murderer, either by talking to him or by a bystander spreading the word.

 

Sorry for the big block of uninteresting rules. If you have any suggestions, I would be more than happy to hear them. I will add them if they improve the game or offer an interesting twist.
