Rumor:Pokemon Wii U game is a fighting game by Namco Bandai?

The trademarks ‘Pokkén Tournament’ and ‘Pokkén Fighters’ have been filed by the Pokémon Company. They are most likely related to the probable Wii U game that was teased at the PGS a few days ago. Indeed, the scene looks like something that could have come straight out of a fighting game.

Furthermore, our good friend AAPF has also uncovered the Japanese trademark ポッ拳 which uses the exact same core title

The name suggest that Namco Bandai may be in charge of production, combining ‘Pokémon’ with one of their flagship titles ‘Tekken’ (鉄拳). There is no evidence for this though, and the name could just be (somewhat of) a coincidence. The bizzare title would literally translate as ‘PokéFist’.

Credit for uncovering the Western trademark goes to Siliconera.

Mmm,since I've seen how Pokemon could be amazingly made into a fighting game with the Fan game Pokemon TypeFighting

Then I'm absolutely ready for it,as long as it's not developed by Capcom

GameXPlain made this rumour as well.

I'd kinda like a Super Smash Brothers like game, but...

Roster:

Pikachu (All around)

Bulbasaur (All around)

Charmelon (Speedy Meleer)

Blastoise (Slow Heavy Tank)

Froakie (Speedy Ranged and Melee)

Infernape (Heavy Slow Sweeper)

Blazekin (Quick Sweeper)

Snorlax (Slow Heavy Powerful Tank)

Totodile (Quick Melee)

Serperior (Extremely Speedy Melee)

Lucario (Quick Sweeper)

Well, from the picture we got at the Pokemon Gameshow

It looks like it;s gonna be either a Stadium RPG or a Fighting game like Tekken

If it is a fighting game and you get to fight using Suicune, Oshawott, and Chespin, then I will say that I would give all that I have to get that game and marry it! (: Having Lucario already in it makes it already a great game.

However, this is still a rumor guys so I hope we take it with a grain of salt until further information is confirmed

If it's true then I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO HYPED FOR THIS

The only thing I'm afraid of is if they included Tekken characters in it,which is what the name Pokken suggest(Pokemon X Tekken)

The last thing I wanna see is Lucario Vs Heihachi Mishima .....Lol

I hope it'll be only about Pokemon

If it's a fighting game, I'm not interested. I'll wait on SSB4 for that. (Even if for some it's not a "fighting" game)

I'm hoping it's Stadium 3.

Me too

I've been waiting for Stadium 3 for YEAAAAAAARS ever since Stadium 2 came out....I wasn't interested in Colosseum and xD despite being good games on their own

It's mostly likely be that this game will be a Stadium-like game or ColosseumXD style of gameplay

The Pokemon Company has told online gaming publication Kotaku that the recent Pokemon image that appeared to tease a Wii U game is simply conceptual. The publication also tried to get some clarification regarding the recent Pokemon trademarksthat have been discovered. Sadly, the Pokemon Company wouldn’t divulge any information.

“There is nothing to announce at this time. These are merely conceptual images.”

The tv noise effect didn't make it seem like it was a teaser for a future game+ they wouldn't say anything about the trademarks. Seems legit.

Yeah we all know it's conceptual, that's why they've shown just one screen shot of it

But they teased something, and that thing is game.

What game it'll be is anybody's guess, and even if they didn't announce the game right now, they'll probably do it at TGS,E3 or a special Nintendo Direct episode like the Pokemon Direct they've done for Pokemon X & Y

It certainly sounds like it could be interesting. I'd buy it.

Can they also throw in a fairy type? Just for a little extra cuteness?

And Jigglypuff? Pweez?

:D

Totodile is cool, though~
