My home. A bright, warm, sandy beach. The sunny town off in the distance built into a large valley, we were but a small universe, sparsely populated, but, our sun shown the brightest, our smells and tastes were divine, our sights were beyond comparison, from logic-defying rock formations, endless oceans and streams, and bountiful light. But what did it look like, again? But there is always one person who is a greedy bastard, one who only wants the light, and ll to himself or herself. Little did I know, soon, they would quest to steal all the light in all universes. A small book, chronicling the events of what was once known as reality, a war between the light and darkness now only though of as a legend, a fairy tale for children of the hero's of light and a legendary weapon known as the Keyblade.
Falling in reverse...
"Time flows, bringing everlasting darkness, and eternal light to our doorstep. How do we know these weapons never existed? How do we know this old man's tale isn't real?" the red-headed boy said, his long hair hanging in front of his eyes and his black T-shirt and pants covered in shreds of old paper, the darkness engulfing him slowly, it's black and purple embrace slowly trying to drag him through the crack in the door he tried to open.
"Because it's just a fairy tale! Magic!? Weapons that appear from nowhere in particular and choose their master!? People manipulating light and darkness? It's such a ridiculous tale that it's near impossible to believe even exist!" The boy with white, spiky hair and a red and yellow shirt and bluejeans yelled at his friend. "Now stop this! You don't know what will happen! What about our home? What we love here! Are you really willing to destroy it all just to prove that it's real!?" The boy cried out to his friend, who only turned away.
"Not only for it's truth to be realized, but for that of light to be mine! For true power to be mine! I will conquer the power of darkness and use it to take the light for myself!" He yelled, continuing to open the door, the darkness beginning to swirl into the sky, the once bright, light-bathed home I loved was being ebbed away by the shadows erupting from the door. "I'd take you with me, but you'd not understand. One who knows nothing can understand nothing."
Into light...
I shot at the gigantic beast, a gaping hole in the shape of a heart stood just below it's chest. It's black skin and skimpy legs nearly made it look like it was, in fact, the pure darkness that was engulfing the small island of my home, the town built into the valley, the endless streams and the boundless oceans, the rock formations and the light, all swallowed by darkness, all feeding the black skinned, yellow eyes titan in front of me. The bullets, no matter how many I fired, never did any damage. As it reached down into the ground, a pool of darkness opened up from the brown ground of the construction site that unearthed the door...
"The door! Maybe if I can shut it..." I thought. I ran, approaching the large, white door. As I approached the door, something tackled me. Small, black imps with antenna's and yellow-dot eyes, like the massive thing attacking his home. They scratched, tore, pounced, trying to get at his chest. "Why?! Why did he open the door?! Why did he do this to all of us? Why... Kain?" The color started to drain from my body as blood leaked from the damage the creatures did. "I'm to die here... But... What about... her... What.. about... Snow?" I collapsed, the miniscule bit of strength I had left in my body faded. "I... I want.. To live... So I can stop... Stop Kain... Save S-Snow..." with that thought, I passed out.
Into darkness...
"Snow. One of the new seven, I can tell. Such a pure light without darkness in any corner of you. Though you're not here with us in heart, I know you would agree to help your older brother out and give your heart up to the darkness." Kain carried his unconscious sister, with light blue hair that had snow-white ends. She wore a purple skin-tight top with a crown-like shape on the chest. Her soft face and calm look was only due to her missing heart. Had she had it, the creatures they saw, Heartless, Nobody's, other horrid things, they would have scared her to death and back. As Kain walked, the Dark Realm, the beast eyed him. None would go for him, as he had left the door to a universe open, they were more focused on the heart of a universe than a single regular heart. Soon a part of the Realm of Darkness he entered had no Heartless, nor Nobody's within sight. This dark cavern, however, had the faint glow of yellow-red eyes slowly chasing them.
A growl. The cry of a creature with purple claws and mane. The pinkish-purple of it's spikes, mane, and tail. Blue lines adorn it's face and body. As it crawled out of the shadows, Kain jumped back. The creature, for some reason, was interested in his heart, rather than that of a universe's heart. The creature lunged, a fiery path followed as it did, and Kain only put his hands out and flinch back as he waited for the blow.
Into both...
I awoke. "But... How? I was dieing on the floor? No time for that, I'm here now, whatever kept me from dieing before did it for a reason, I've got to open my eye-"
Not yet, the time is not right.
"Huh? Who said that?" I shouted, trying to open my eyes and look around, they refused to open.
The true door has not been opened yet. You yield to the darkness. You fall to it, but you have the power. The darkness is all around you.
I shuttered, seeing the place I loved the most being sucked into the void, seeing the people I loved the most being sucked into the void. I saw the creatures again, and I screamed, it was like they were on me, scrambling around, clawing and digging at me still. I wanted this vision to stop, I felt the fear own my own death, I felt the fear of my losses, I felt the fear of my failure.
What are you most afraid of...?
"I fear... My failure..." I muttered, the voice accepted it as an answer. Next, I saw the joy of my normal life, before all this. The warm days spent on the beach with Snow and Kain. My heart relaxed, became peaceful, wishing to sleep in those memories forever. But next, I saw Snow, and many others, those I do and don't know, harmed, my heart tugged at their pain until I saw myself ending their pain. I felt so joyful for helping them, these were memories I longed for, of days I had saved who i care for. Next, I saw a great map, a grand adventure planned for me and new friends. I felt the turmoil of the journey, both the pain and the pleasure, and I longed for it as well.
What do you want the most out of life?
"To be able protect who i care for, who I love." Was my answer, I said it proud and strong. Next, I see Snow, her soft face and beautiful hair, she was smiling to me. Next, I saw the map again, but as well as a ship and sets of footprints. and shaking hands. Next, I saw pure light, it was sitting next to pure darkness, almost as if they were to grant you their power. Finally, I saw my home, returned to normally peace being brought about.
What is the most important to you?
I had to think, each vision gave me a feeling of great importance. Each of them was like a section of my heart: Snow, Adventure and meeting new people, the powers of both light and darkness, my home, but I had to pick one. "... I've chosen. Snow. I care for her the most." I said it. I decided Snow was the most important thing in my life at the time, since in a way, she was like home to me.
You're home is where your heart lies, and it lies with her. I feel your choice was the best one. But now, you must know this: The darkness still surrounds you, lurking with hungry eyes upon your heart. But do not be afraid. The darkness can not harm you, so long as you wield your heart in hand as the key... Now, open you're eyes. The darkness approaches. You must choose your path, but be warned: Once you're path has been chosen, there is no returning, only moving forward, marching into the darkness, but you mustn't be afraid. Now, open you're eyes and choose.
I opened my eyes. I stood atop a large, stain-glass-like circle, it had an image of me, Snow, and Kain, our hands together in the center. In-between us is a symbol. Between me and Snow, the heart, between Snow and Kain, a wisp-like orb, the soul, between Kain and I, orbs of both darkness and light, as well as two oddly shaped blades. It was bordered by a symbol that Kane, Snow, and I had made out of our own personal symbols. Mine, a quill-pen and sword crossing at the tips, Kane's of a strange heart, it held barbed wire, as well as a frilled bottom as pert of it, then the outside having four odd-looking spikes. Snow's was that of a snowflake in the shape of an item once known as a "Wayfinder" from the old legend. The way they combined was that the top of the snowflake would meld into the bottom spikes of Kain's symbol, and mine would overlap the center point, tips together, completely vertically. Other than black and white, the stain-glass was actually a dull black and white color.
With only enough time to look at the area around myself, six pedestals appeared. Floating above them, objects, weapons, like a sword or shield, or wearable things, like a cloak of halo. I found myself drawn one of the objects in particular, to the scythe.
The power of the slayer. Killer-instinct. Deadly Silent and cruel killer. Do you choose this path?
I thought for a moment. "I'm not silent, and I've never killed before, but I guess being the black sheep is nothing to be ashamed of. Yes, I choose this path.:
The tower sunk in,and my section of the stained glass lit up, it was a ocean blue color around me and the objects that were in my portion. My body was colored in to match me, although, I wasn't wearing what I normally did. I had a red and black short overcoat, it had what looked like shoulder pads, small, and grey on each of my shoulders, attached by red straps on the front. It had a small grey-lined hood with the outside having s little red stripe around it. The coat had two pockets, the outside of which was defined by a large red line as well. The bottom of the coat and it's sleeve cuff's were also bordered in red His shirt on the inside was a dark red, a large black "X" was on each side of him, just barely visible to the eyes due to how dark the shade of red. His pants were now long, and red at the top, but black at the bottom, the colors intersecting at the knees with a line of grey in between, he has two very large black item bags strapped to the sides of his legs as well. His shoes were now grey combat boots. I had black and red gloves with yellow straps across the back and palm of my hand.
Now that you've chosen you're path, you must give one away, nothing in life is without give and take, remember this.
I turned to the other weapons and objects, the item I decided I would give away is the Spear. I approached it and held it in my hand.
The power of the Hunter. self-Reliance. Closer to new or friendly. Do you give up this path?
"Yes, I give up the spear."
Your paths are set. You chose the power of the Scythe, and gave up the power of the Spear. Is this the form you take?
"Yes."
The part where Kain was lit up, or more or less changed his colors into his body, but now he also had a shadow, something demented following him.
You're nearly ready. But your equipment is not that of a warrior.
As the voice said this, I was engulfed in a bright light, my clothes changing to that of the outfit I am wearing in the picture.
You are ready, yet you do not know how to fight. Sick your hand out, believe in your power, your weapon shall come to you.
I do as the voice said, and a weapon did appear. It was a long, strange looking sword. In some ways, it resembled a key. It had black raven wings as the guard, the neck was long, wide, and strait, having a resemblance to a feather, each side of it had parts of it near the top that were frayed, torn, or longer than the others, making it look like the teeth of a car-key somewhat.
Keyblade. Know the name of the weapon forged of your heart.
"Black Tempest." As I named the blade, the part with Snow in it lit up, it being an emerald-green color. She was dressed completely as normal, but she had a hole where her heart should be. She appeared to be sleeping.
I have no more time I can spare for you. Awaken.
I found myself back in my home, slowly being torn apart still. The creature's that attacked me were slowly fading as was the light around me. The large creature looked at my Keyblade. "You want some of this? Because I'll let you have it!" I threw Black Tempest at the monster's head, but it blocked it with it's hand, still, though, it inflicted heavy damage to the beast as it fell to it's knees from the small attack. I put my hand out again, recalling the blade to me, and I charged at the beast. When i reached it, I jumped up and slashed it's arm and then it's head. This thing was already nearly down, but even so, it managed to recover and launch a large swipe at me. The blow hurt me, but it didn't stop me. As I hit the ground, it prepared another attack, but I threw my Keyblade at the thing's legs, it didn't take as much damage as the last time, but it was enough to knock it down. I called the blade back to me and continued the assault, slashing at it's head multiple times, eventually, the thing fell, turning into a large cloud of smoke and fading away. After it disappeared fully, I realized how much damage I actually took. As I fell to the ground, barely conscious, the last thing I heard was "Brooklyn...". "It sounded like Snow.". That was my last thought before I passed out from damage. I dreamed that the hole even was a dream, and it was just Snow waking me up from a nap I accidentally took.
So, extremely long, but this is the prelude to one of my OC's that will be debuting sometime today.
