I guess I'll start~

Kuro lay on a sunny and warm patch of grass, snoozing. The area he was in was a clearing with a few large rocks and a small pond. He was tired, and wanted to sleep badly. Now he was finally asleep, and he had his arms behind his head while he was peacfully, but rather loudly, snoring. His Katana lay next to him, a few bits of dirt lay on the blade, showing that it was dropped carelessly. A black cat walked towards him and lay on his chest, staring at his face with wide eyes. He woke up, surprised at the sudden pressure on his chest and stared face-to-face at the cat. He jumped up in surprise and the cat fell of his chest and fled, leaving him alone in he clearing. He sighed and sat down, picking up his Katana and blowing the dirt off of it.

A man dressed in several layers of black approached Kuro from the woods. A rude, larger katana was strapped to his back by huge chains. His dreads blew in the gentle breeze lazily, but his gaze beyond his sunglasses was serious. The man unlatched his sword, letting the chain softly hug the blade as he got in a battle ready position.

Kuro didn't notice the man approaching him, and grabbed a small rock that was laying next to him and threw it into the pond. It made a large splash, and he sighed. Getting up, he grabbed his katana and turned around, now seeing the man. He gasped in surprise when he noticed he was ready for battle. He was the only one in the clearing, so there was no one he could be making that stance to. He gripped his katana with both hands and got into his battle stance, slightly dreading his decision.

"En guarde." In a split second, the tall man had closed a 15 foot gap between him and Kuro. With a single dexterious hand the stranged slashed downward towards the boy, almost purposely aiming at Kuro's sword.

Katrina wandered through the forest. Her Long-sword and Bow were attached to her back. Katrina found a small body of water. Some birds flew away as she approached. She kneed down and stared at an over-turn lily-pad. "Hilary can be a jerk. If she kills anyone else, I'll never forgive her," Katrina mumbled. "I need to...protect the only things I care about...all of the remaining good people, animals and life. If Hilary dares take that away from me, I'll take her life!" she announced.

Kuro jumped back, avoiding the blade. He stared at the man and decided finally that he didn't want to fight. He put his sword on the ground carefully and raised his arms halfway. He nervously chuckled and tried to stay as calm as he could. After all, the man did have a rather large katana...

The man drove his old blade into the grassy earth, chains rattling almost like music. "How are you supposed to protect the forest like that?" The stranger's voice was gruff but gentle, both condescending and concerned. The man flipped Kuro's katana with his booted foot into the air, catching it effortlessly. "Tell me. Are you a man or a boy?"

"And what kind of question is that?!" Kuro nearly yelled, his emotions quickly changing from scared to angry. "Your blade is taller then I am! How do you expect me to defend myself that way?" His tone was half demanding and half enraged, more angry at himself for giving up so easily. Slightly angry at the man for challenging him for no reason. He crossed his arms and waited for answer, and stared at the man.

The man turned away, gazing at the cheery, calm clouds in the sky. "I was once like you. Unsure, unconfident. That blunt weapon over there is the only sword I've ever used. I learned how to be greater than before, pass old boundaries. But the only reason why I came so far, both here in my skills and here in my travels... is because I believed in myself." The man turned back to Kuro and held the boy's katana by the blade so Kuro could take the hilt. "I am know as Flow the Katsujinken."

Kuro took the sword in a grateful fashion, staring at him with widened eyes. "My name is Kuro Miroshagi." He said, shaking his head. "Why did you attack me?" He wondered that at the being of the conversation. There had to be a reason, unless he was crazy. But he was to kind to be crazy...

"Kuro..." Flow pulled up his own katana and twirled the huge thing like it was a tiny baton. "I could feel your drive. Your soul forcing its way to a destiny of hardships and danger. Both our souls seek the purification of the great forest. Reading your motive wasn't so hard, but... I had to test your dedication. Were you willing to throw everything on the line to neutralize me and continue to save the forest, or just throw your sword on the ground when the going got tough?"

Kuro looked away and didn't reply, shifting his sword in his hands. He felt ashamed of his decision now. If he wanted to save the forest, he couldn't just give up to a hard opponent, even if there blade was taller them. He nodded, returning his gaze at him with confidence. "Alright. Say, would you mind traveling with me at all?" He asked with a smile.

Katrina heard talking. She detoured over a small log over the body of water. "I hope they're nice..." Katrina began when the log snapped in half and she fell in the water. The force sent Katrina splashing down. She moved her arms to avoid drowning. She reached for a hand. Katrina's eyes were filled with water. The hand took Katrina's and pulled her up. Katrina coughed. The hand let go quickly and a foot came up. It bashed Katrina in the stomach. She jumped up out of the water. She flicked her hair out of her eyes. Hilary stood in front of Katrina. Hilary narrowed her eyes and took out her bow. She put an arrow in it and shot it at Hilary's head. Hilary closed her eyes and whipped her scythe out. It reflected the arrow. "Why did you follow me, Hilary? I have nothing you want!" Katrina protested. Hilary opened her eyes and grinned. "Not so. I want your life!" Katrina stepped back. "Hilary, you're going to die before I do!" Hilary rushed forward and jumped. Katrina rolled out of the way and dodged Hilary's deadly vertical slice. "Then again, there's a possibility..." Katrina muttered. Katrina rolled down a hill and slammed into a tree. Her back was injured. Hilary slid down the hill and swung her scythe again. Katrina crouched down and barely rolled away. Hilary cut the tree cleanly down. She grumbled and rushed back to Katrina. "Damn it, Hilary. Leave me ALONE!" Katrina exclaimed.

Kuro heard yelling and saw a girl rolling down the hill. Energy flowed through him and he transformed into his Fennec Fox form. Almost instantly he was running down the hillside towards the girl with his sword in his mouth. When he was close enough to the one chasing the girl he leapt in front of her and returned human, slashing his blade at the attacker.

Hilary jumped back with a small cut on the right arm of her dress. "Hmm? Who might you be?" Hilary asked the 15-year old. Katrina looked back, and transformed into a dove. She hopped away. "I haven't seen you around here." Hilary attached her scythe on her back. The blade shined in the bright sun. Katrina hid in a bush. This boy...he's trying to save me... She realized.

Kuro stared at the attacker. "Kuro Miroshagi!" He said with the confidence he did not show before. He stood in his battle stance and refused to put his sword down or show weakness. "And leaver her alone!" He took another strike at the stranger and looked back. Where had the girl gone?

Hilary blocked the strike with the handle of her scythe. It left a dent in it. Hilary snorted. "Kuro? That's a nice name...for a dead boy!" Katrina gasped to herself. She flopped over to Kuro. Katrina turned back to her normal form. "You let him be! You do NOT talk to him like that, Hilary! You have such a bad mouth!" Hilary walked up and punched Katrina's cheek. Katrina froze for a second, then went out cold. "Pathetic...I don't why she insists on fighting me like that. If she can't put up with that, she's useless," Hilary crossed her arms with a smirk.

Kuro felt pure rage flow through him. "Leave her alone!" He yelled, striking a much stronger blow towards the attacker. He noticed she was dark, and was willing to destroy her at all costs. He was traveling save the forest, after all. He instantly kicked towards her stomach after the strike he had made.

Hilary avoided the first strike. Katrina lifted her head up. Her vision was foggy. Hilary went flying backwards due to the kick. "And I thought you were cute..." she scoffed. Katrina crawled away. Hilary jumped up and pushed Kuro out of the way. Hilary dashed to Katrina. She kicked Katrina on her back. "Hilary...no..." Katrina breathed. She gave one last leg swing and tripped Hilary. Katrina held her head in her hands. Hilary regained her balance and glared at Kuro.

Kuro staggered back at the push and stared at the stranger with horrified eyes. He growled and took another strike at her, standing in front of the girl. "Leave her ALONE!!!" He almost screamed, rage filling his eyes and powering his muscles. He gave a second swing that was harder, one filled with hatred for an enemy of darkness.

Hilary ducked. "Fine. I don't want to be around her face away." Hilary laughed. "Methinks you have a soft-spot...for Katrina..." She walked away from Kuro and Katrina. Katrina's vision cleared. "T-thanks..." Katrina breathed. "She's Hilary. Hilary Belford," she explained. "I awe you. With my life!"

Kuro blushed at the statement. "I do not!" He yelled. He turned around at the girl. He smiled. "My pleasure. Need some help?" He asked, out stretching his hand to the girl. "By the way, I'm Kuro. Kuro Miroshagi." He introduced himself to the girl, and thought. Maybe he did have a soft spot for her..

Katrina also held her hand to Kuro. Katrina pulled herself up. "I am Katrina Onyx." Katrina frowned. "Thank you for you saving me. Hilary is very dangerous..." Katrina sighed. "We could travel together. We could...make a good team!"

He smiled. "Nice meeting you. And I beleive we would!" He said. He looked at the sky and noticed it was starting to get late. "We should find a place to rest." He said, frowning. He hated nighttime, because it was always cold. He's rather stay warm.

"Oh my. It's getting dark," Katrina realized. "Where should we rest? Normally bad things and people come at night!" Katrina took out her long-sword. "My father got me this. I miss him...he would tuck me in at night as a little girl..."

"I'm not sure. I don't know if there's a town nearby.." He said, thinking. "But there is an abandoned hut not far from here!" He got excited and yawned, thinking about sleeping. "I hope we can get there fast enough."
