I hope they find a new song as good as "Simple and Clean" and "Sanctuary". As much as I love these songs, I think they should get a new Main theme. That's what they did for KH2. Wish they still had Utada. She has a beautiful singing voice

I honestly hope they do a brand new orchestral theme, in the same vein as what the opening of DDD was only with a new theme. Something epic, or perhaps dark, to fit the tone of "This is it." As cool as it could be, I don't think the setting is going to accomodate a J-Pop song this time around.

Something version like this would be awesome for KH3.

KH Ochestra became very used to KH so mayby also for KH3.

But that makes no sense. The first time Sanctuary was played as the theme of KH, nobody knew it, and nobody related it to KH, so how was its inclusion any different to the possibility of a new theme now? In the same way Sanctuary is now a 'staple theme', so could the new song someday be.

 

Well yeah and nobody knew the game either. Everything was new. The game was new, the song was new.. But then KH2 came out and everyone recognized it as KH. Now you hear 2 notes of it, whatever version it is, and everyone knows its KH. I just think why change it now for 3? Just keep it. Its such a nostalgic song and everyone knows it. Its just my opinion.

KH was three years old at the time of release of KH2, and that was the first appearance of Sanctuary. So, many people knew the game (which is why they were playing the sequel), but the song was completely new. Also, making a new song for KH3 would be keeping in their 'tradition' of making a new song for every numbered sequel.

They might be deciding on what theme song will be in KHIII while the game is in development.

Utada will make a song for KH3 because Nomura begged her.

Nomura: "Many fans seem to have the image Kingdom Hearts = Utada Hikaru so I didn’t think of changing that at all. This time I wrote a story explanation for her that’s longer than the previous game’s. We decided to have it played at the last scene, so for me, the theme was “Sora and Riku’s reunion.” I wrote stuff like “An image of a reunion, a happy moment in a way” and “Like a Hikari 2″ in there".

 

Nomura knows what the fans wants, he'll make sure to get Utada to do the theme for Kingdom Hearts 3. Disney wasn't paying her, trust me they'll pay this time. The final game for the saga has to be perfect, Square and disney knows this.

 

Edit: If Utada doesn't want to do it and Disney/Square wants to save money. They could use Jesse McCartney, it'd be an interesting alternative.

She felt like she wasn't getting paid enough, so she quit. Those cheap fools. If they replace her, I hope they replace her with someone who has her talent, and not the typical high-pitched woman they get to sing for any vanilla anime. 

 

Also they can re-use what they have, but she won't make new songs for them.

Replace Hikki with Yui (...but she can't sing in english sadly D:)
