Retrace, Relive, Rewrite: Kingdom Hearts I [RP]

This is the official RP.  Sign ups here: http://kh13.com/forum/topic/58931-retrace-relive-rewrite-kh1-rp-sign-ups/

As everyone arrives, the sky begins to turn dark as a mysterious figure floats above them.  This mysterious figure bears the ever so familiar black coat, to hide their existence.  As more of the KH13 characters appear, the figure grows to a massive size.

“I am in the process of rewriting your beloved series, if you do nothing about it, it will be nothing like the original version and as I said before, you will lose.  To make this fair, I will give you one year to save the events in Kingdom Hearts I, but do not feel limited to just those events.  Whatever your choices are, they are yours to make and the mistakes that follow, are also yours to bear.  And one last thing, as I see more of you are joining, for each person that enters this realm, a month will be deducted, only until there is only one month left.  Have fun!”

The unknown force disappears in a vortex of darkness.  Everyone is left in the main islands, wondering what will happen next.  The sky begins to clear up, the school bell can be heard as students leave the school premises.

A lingering voice remains.  “I will grant one of you the memories of what occurs in Kingdom Hearts I, but only this one time. There are 9 of you, you have 3 months left.”

A large blast appears in front of everyone’s eyes, signifying the return of some of their memories (aka the character memories).  What will they do?

(So I decided to make it a little easier by giving one of you guys kh1 memories, since everyone else's memories are exclusive to one character.  I PM'd this person ahead of time to confirm.  The rest of you will have to ask in character to see who it is.  No cheating!  as in asking someone out of character....)

(To recap, everyone only has memories (regarding KH) of the specific characters they chose, nothing else about KH, although you can refer to your real life outside the notebook if you please.)

Falling. Fading. Where was I? I felt like... I was... sinking. My decent slowed even further as I landed on the mosaic platform. This was... my heart! But something was missing. Half of it was missing. My heart was literaly broken in half! What was I going to do? Half a heart? There's no way I would be able to move on without that one piece. Without her.

'let me help you'

The missing piece of my heart faded into existence. It was more of a replacement piece however... Where her image should've been was a boy with spiky blonde hair.

'You'll get her back.' Ven assured. 'I just need you to help us in the process.'

I nodded. "Right."

'It's time to wake up now. And all we need to do is...'

" 'Open the door' "

In a bright flash, my eyes opened. "Where am I?" In the distance, I saw the blurry figure of someone else (anybody can answer this call). "Hey!" I ran to them.

(Once you write yourself into the notebook, you are absorbed into it I guess as the character.  You can still write in 3rd person though.  Basically you know you have to save the story of Kingdom Hearts, but you just don't remember any of it as the character you've created, only the that specific kingdom hearts character is the only thing you remember about kingdom hearts.  Also please follow the thread.)

Ran stood in the middle of everyone, they were standing in what seemed to be an island to him.

"The events of Kingdom Hearts I?"

Ran tried to think about it clearly, but he could not recall any of the information he thought he had retained after going into the notebook.  There were certain rules everyone had to follow and the best way to get this done was to find out who had retained their memories of the story of Kingdom Hearts I.  Just who was it that the mysterious figure chose?

Derik wasn't in fact standing, awake, but off a under the pier sleeping. Though he was somewhat energetic, he also had a habit of napping throughout the day, snoozing away the day because not much else interested him. His town was rather boring, as well as his daily life, and even with missing memories that did not change.

Falling and screaming from the sky was an armored figure, his blue shoulder cape fluttering haphazardly as he was careening towards the sands of Destiny Islands. Surprisingly, he never let off on the screaming to take a deep breath and continue, though it wasn't really needed as he impacted the soft warm sands of the coastline not too long afterwards. Letting off a solid "ooomph!" as he created an admirable sized crater and throwing off a decent chunk of the pristine landscape of the coastal sands into the air. Lying in the center of the crater, it took a couple of seconds before the armored figure recovered to a sitting position, removing his helmet in the process. Taking a deep breath and holding his head, he looked up and out into the sunset. The brilliant red and orange rays glistened off his only exposed ghost grey left eye, his right covered by a one sided sunglass. "Where.... Where in the world am I?" he asked himself aloud, unsure as to why he made a spectacular entrance to this place. The only thing he remembered just moments before was a flash of light, and oddly enough nothing else before that. He looked around, trying to assess his surroundings. It didn't take long for him to realize that it was none other than Destiny Islands. Off in the distance and connected to the main coastline via a wooden bridge was a lone tree of sorts, but it was the person sitting there that immediately caught his eye: a small, red haired girl wearing what looked like a white tube top and a purple skirt. "Is that-" he quickly got up and started making his way towards the mini-island, jumping up onto the wooden bridge and slowly making his way towards the interestingly shaped tree. The girl turned around and spotted him before immediately smiling, then faded away. "Wait!" he exclaimed, now running to her, "Kairi! Is that you?!" But when he finally reached the tree, there was no trace of her there. Oddly enough, he heard the faint sound of her giggle over the gentle ambient noise of the ocean. He looked around frantically, trying to make sense of what had just happen.

Oathkeeper was an idiot.

Waking up, he realized he should have made his character Soren de Wynter. Because goshdammit, he now was a girl.

After confirming this through groping himself (and being intensely weirded out, he currently was standing in the tree house arguing with Oriana.

"Dammit, I should have left her out..." Zion griped, looking down. "This...wait..."

The memories of Xion flooded his mind. But why did she seem to look a bit like Sacra? Ok, that was wrong.

"WHAT THE FIRETRUCK!" Zion shouted helplessly at the setting son. "What the firetruck..."

-The bright side, is you can at least act like a bubbly tomboy.-

"Nothing from the Rachel Alucard peanut gallery." Zion growled, before jumping off the treeand summoning Wings of Dawn, and started to fly.

"Firetruck my life..."

Xion.

Why, xion?

Right. Because she's my fav character.

Looking down, Zion found more people.

"Think they'd believe I'm actually a guy?"

-Yeah. But that you're gay.-

"I'm wriing ou out of my stories."

-Challenge accepted.-

Cursing, Zion/Oathkeeper/ME! angled down and started to lazily circle down to meet the others.

The mysterious figure's voice lingered through the thick air that these people now breathed.  "I see one of you has truly written himself in, even going as far as to change his gender.  He has the right idea."

Ran listened to the voice attentively, trying to figure out the location of this mysterious person, wanting to stop the madness as fast as possible.  But alas, to no avail, he could not find such refuge within the island.  He, along with everyone else that had managed to make it through the notepad, were back to square one.  Ran quickly observed the environment, utilizing his power to call darkness to do so.  He searched and looked through the perimeter of the main island, quite quickly and efficiently at that.  There was nothing out of the ordinary, just a nice, quaint village with people to match the description.

"We need to find a way out of here!  This guy seems to have similar powers to Namine... and he let us utilize them to lead us into a trap, I believe," Ran said to the bunch, arriving back to where they all stood.  "Anyone have any ideas?"

Oathkeeper was an idiot.

(Did you happen to read that everyone landed on the main island of Destiny Islands?)

Silver sat in the sand. His wolf ears flicked with annoyance. It was hot on the island, and his dark clothes did poorly to block the heat; it trapped it like a net, forcing Silver to suffocate in the intense temperature.

Sure, he could take his long coat off, but the coat was part of his look. He wouldn't look so cool without it.

"Yuffie." He whispered, trailing a gloved finger through the sand. He kept thinking about that name. "Why?" He asked. The wolf-boy could think nothing but of this ninja. She was cute, he could tell that from the memories. But she also had a cocky flair to her. That and she wielded some huge star-shaped weapon that probably was terribly difficult to use.

Roxas. The name stormed through Donovan's mind. Who is he? Donovan's vision was black. Slowly, he opened his eyes. "Where am I?" As he scratched his scalp, sand fell off. What's that smell...salt? Taking a deep breath, Donovan stretched his body, his bones popping every other second. The feeling of dry, hot sand in his hands started to spread to his arms. As Donovan started to move, his boy started to ache, his skin stinging every time water crashed onto the shore. As he got off and brushed the sand away, Donovan examined his surroundings. It was around mid afternoon. Palm trees were everywhere, but what struck him most was a small plateau off the coast of the island.

"Hello!?" Donovan screams out."Is anyone here!?" His voice echoed throughout the island.

R-O-X-A-S. Roxas. Who is he? Where is he? All I can see is light brown, maybe chestnut hair. It's spiky, unlike mine. His clothes are strange. Who is he?

With the initial impact of hitting the sands of Destiny Islands starting to wear off, "Nocturne" Zero-Four started to remember bits and pieces of who he was before the fall. "Javelin..." he murmured to himself, "My username. Nocturnal Guardian Zero-Four was my title, and I was..." he facepalmed himself as he realized that the impact had actually traumatized him enough to make him forget who he was. "And... a Kairi fanboy." he growled, smiling as he realized that seeing her face to face just might be a reality.

He checked his tactpad on his left arm, trying to figure out his identity here in the world. "Hmmm... My name here is 'Nocturne' Zero-Four huh? Hey! I'm my own OC! I'm my OC! Yes!!!" He jumped repeatedly into the air, throwing his fist up in excitement as he was practically living his own fantasy right then and there. After getting over the initial excitement, he looked around and after not seeing anyone in the immediate vicinity, quickly desummoned his armored helmet. "I wonder if anyone else from the site is here?"

"I see one of you has truly written himself in, even going as far as to change his gender.  He has the right idea."  he heard a voice say from out of nowhere. Looking around, he tried to find the source of the voice, but to no avail. "Weird..." he whispered as he set off towards the main island again, hoping to bump into some of his online friends.

(Reason why I'm not posting: I have band camp this week and next week....basically all day but nights and weekends.)

Zion did better then run into Nocturne.

She fell right on top of him, having forgotten that Dawn Wings turns off and on at a thought.

With Oriana cackling in...his? Her? In Zion's ear, Oathkeeper - Turned - Zion fell right onto Nocturne, yelling the whole way, bringing a whole new meaning to dropping in.

Hearing the faint sound of a girl screaming from above, "Nocturne" looked up to see a tiny black dot in the sky that was quickly getting bigger. Before he could even react, the person landed squarely on his shoulders, and he let off a solid "oomph!" as his face smacked the wooden planks of the pier that connected the paopu island to the main one. "Why me?" he murmured to himself as he laid there face down, silently laughing at his own bad luck. He tried to throw the girl off, but wasn't able to position his arms to do such a thing. "Er... would you be kind enough to get OFF of me, miss?" he asked the stranger, hoping that she had no hostile intent.

Groaning, Zion rolled off Nocturne."I'm sorry man...I...uh...suck at landing."Grimacing, Zion stood shakily. "Urm...hi. I'm..."Checking to make sure the boobs hadn't vanished (to Oath's dismay he wasn't Soren) she then held out a hand."Umm..I guess...I'm Zion..."

As "Nocturne" slowly got up to a sitting position, he eyed the newcomer to see if he could recognize her. "I'm sorry man...I...uh...suck at landing."

"Hey, it's cool. You'll get used to it someday. I remember that happening to me and Luna Zero-Five back in my training days." he replied to Zion as a smile formed on his face, remembering those golden days. "So... um... what's your name?" he asked as he reached for her hand before being pulled up.

"Umm..I guess...I'm Zion..." He immediately raised an eyebrow. There was something about that name that was... familiar. He decided to introduce himself. "I'm er... well I go by many names but... I guess Four would have to do. I know, it's kinda stupid to have a number for a name but there's a reason for it. And I can't help but ask, do we... know each other? I sorry if that's creepy, but I can't help but feel as if we do."

Finally, Derik was slipping into his more awake form, his mind no longer drifting in the sub space of his sleeping mind. When he was like this, he could hear his voice in his head, it was almost like third-person. "Where am I? Who am I? Am I on a beach? What is this? I don't understand... It feels like I've been sleeping forever..." Derik finally woke up. He saw the boards above his head, freaking out, he looked at his hands, he was scared, no, more like petrified. He didn't quite remember how to move, his thoughts raced against him as his blurry vision made it hard to tell what was going on. After much work to try and figure out how to move, he put all his focus into moving his dominant arm, whichever that was. Eventually, both of his arms rose up. "I'm multi-handed... no... the word is... Ambidextrous? Yes, Ambidextrous... Now I need to learn how to move my legs again..." He focused on both legs, giving it all he could to try and recall the muscles he needed to move to get his leg just to bend. Just like that, his leg slowly bent up. Then another, his other leg, in the same way, just flipped, mirrored, to say. After practicing that, as well as moving his arms, he forced himself to pathetically craw out from under the pier, and put as much work into trying to stand up as moving his legs for the first time. "I-I'm up, walking-ish... Where am I?" He thought, trying to recall a memory of some kind, all he recalled was a blurred background, and a blue-haired girl. Mature-looking, with blue eyes and hair, and a very beautiful battle suit. "Aqua..." He kept thinking, but not much came to him. He looked out to the far-off island where two people stood, one of them was blond-haired with a brown overcoat of sorts. "Zion... Zero-Four...? Why do I know those names... i don't even know... Derik... Absolon... R-Ry...." His mind was still trying to put together the puzzle pieces, names, words, terms, but his name wouldn't come to him. Two other last thing came to his brain."Never...Better... Gumi... Steel Coat... Key..." The last few names and terms he could remember fully. "I guess... Unless someone else has that name, I'll go by Derik Absolon..." he thought to himself.

After his memory trip, he decided it best to find out who it was those people were. He tried walking, but his body felt weighed down heavily. "W-Why am I so... Heavy..." He wondered, the sand slowly sliding out from under him. "Steel coat..." He muttered under his breath. It was hard to wear, but he guessed he was a very big training nut, since his feet didn't hurt under the weight of the jacket. Moving as fast as he could, he sounded like a small thunder storm as he ran over to the shack, after noticing the door above. "It probably has a stairwell to the top area... what worries me is the bridge..." He entered the shack, and sure enough, the stairwell was there. He climbed it, although he had trouble doing so, he made it to the bridge. "If I go with the coat on, it's possible I could break the bridge down, but I don't even know if I'm wearing anything more than underpants in here, so here goes..." his mind still sent an alert to him that it was a bad idea, but he had to go anyway. He started at the door, running as fast and as hard as he possibly could, barley reaching above two miles per hour, but he ran over the bridge and made it to the other side, nearly bumping into Four. "Sorry..." He coughed out, his body was not nearly ready to lift this weight at high speed. "But if I was able to pull a mini-lap in this thing, I wonder how fast I can really go...?" he thought, his body's exhaustion apparent as he coughed again.

(Okay, looks like everyone's not caught up.  So I'm just gonna retcon.

Apparently Oath, Javelin, and Never Better are on the separated island, not the main island with the town.

Silver, Triple, and Sikota are still getting introduced.

So, I'm definitely going to have to do this, since I'm the only one actively moving through the main island.

Neko and Yuffie have yet to post.)

As, Ran asked the bunch of people standing atop the hill of the main island, he could sense a very ominous feeling.  He felt entrapped in a world unlike any other he's ever seen, or he was written to have seen, by his original persona, Sky Heart.  Although his adventures may have been written on the spot, he was as real as anything else there, he needed to save Kingdom Hearts.  The group of people he thought to be his friends from KH13 were frauds, nothing more than illusions to distract him.  One by one they approached him, disappearing as they went through his physical being.  Darkness, the very power he had controlled and the only one he possessed began to engulf him from the bottom up.  Soon he would be encased in the bottomless pit of this cold abyss, his physical prowess were no much for such an obstacle.  Just like Riku, although he could not recall the character at the time, he plunged into darkness, falling into the deepest recesses of the unconscious.

He woke up to be in the separated island, where Kairi, Riku and Sora used to play everyday.  Ran pulled his head up off the sand and looked around, to find a young man with an obviously heavy coat, running over a bridge to the small island that was connected by it.

"Who is he?" he asked, connecting his eyes to the sight of two other characters, that may be of some help to his crusade.  "I better follow him."Ran opened a corridor of darkness and arrived right behind the steel coated fellow.  "I assume you guys are from KH13 as well, I'm Ran!" he announced to the trio.  He did not want to reveal his full identity, yet, due to the sole fact that he could not trust the three until further information would be revealed to him about themselves.

Awaiting Zion's reply, Four was apparently nearly steamrolled by another newcomer, one who barely managed to stop a little past him. Hw was about to offer a rebuttle, but Ran's sudden appearance via a dark corridor immediately got him in a combative stance. Before asking for identification, Ran spoke first. "I assume you guys are from KH13 as well, I'm Ran!"

The memories of the online forums started to rush back to him. "No friggin way!" Four responded enthusiastically, "you know that place?! I'm known as Javelin on that site!" Although he had associated Ran as an enemy for using a corridor of darkness, he extended a hand towards him. "So... what's your username on that site?"

"I just said..." Ran repeated, almost dumbfounded by Derik's habitual remark.  "I'm Ran, one of the members of KH13 who plunged straight into this pit to save Kingdom Hearts from him."

Ran analyzed Derik's movements and his attitude.  He could figure out just from those two facts alone that he was of no threat and of course a KH13 member himself, but who exactly was he out of the thousands of members in the site?

(Alright, we should wait for Oath as he is part of this whole exchange.)

((Oath just woke up -.-))

As Zion blinked at the exchange, she groaned and fell to her knees, the fell on her bottom as she slid her legs to the side, like her best friend did all the time.

"This is not fair. This sucks. This just sucks."

Zion hid her face in her hands. "I know you guys. You, Sky...I definately know you Javelin. Obsessed with....someone! Nocturnal guardians. If you can't figure out who I am, I'll be mad. Oh. And. If you laugh, or anything else, I will blast you to oblivion!"

-Don't mind Zion, he's pissy that he wrote in Zion and not Soren. He would be happier, because then he wouldn't have his semi mean teasing second personality making his life as her hell!-

"Stampede of Derpy Hooves."

-NOOOOOO-

Her face barely changed as the two argued.

"By the way. Anyone seen Xion?"

Silver laid back in the sand, hands behind his head in the most lazy of ways. He yawned, his wolf ears twitching some more.

"So I'm Silver Kuroi now. Well..I always was.." Silver whispered, his grey eyes lazily looking up into the sky. He yawned again. He was tired, very tired. His mind was a disjointed combination of this Yuffie girl, the memories of Silver, and his own thoughts.

It did well in making one's head hurt.

"Xion?" Ran asked, immediately realizing who this person was after muttering the words.  Although this name eluded his memories, he could remember a friend from KH13 who would be completely obsessive with this name.  As the pieces of the puzzle came together, Ran let out a small "ah!" reaching for Zion's hand with both of his.  "Oath!  Nice to see you made it all in one piece!" he said adding, "But why did you write yourself in as a girl?"

Ran asked, immediately realizing who this person was after muttering the words.

"KH13? I'm not too sure I know what that is... I'm not really ri-right in the noggin right now... I mean, I got here, and I can't remember anything except scraps... Why am I here? Who am I? What past do I have? I just... I don't... I'm sorry I can't be much help..."

At this point, Four was getting annoyed by his self-questioning, but managed to not show it. He returned his attention to Zion. "This is not fair. This sucks. This just sucks. I know you guys. You, Sky...I definately know you Javelin. Obsessed with....someone! Nocturnal guardians. If you can't figure out who I am, I'll be mad. Oh. And. If you laugh, or anything else, I will blast you to oblivion!" He smiled as she mentioned the Guardians. "Yeah" he started, "and I can't believe I'm living as one of them! Wait a minute... if you know about that, then... oh my god." his eyes widened as he realized who she really was, and fought back the urge to both laugh and smile. "By the way. Anyone seen Xion?"

"Oathkeeper!" he exclaimed, before playfully punching Zion on her left shoulder, "I knew there was something familiar with your name. And uh... sorry. Don't know who Xion is. Sounds familiar though..."

"Oath!  Nice to see you made it all in one piece!" he heard Ran say, "But why did you write yourself in as a girl?"

He tried to contain his laugh, but as he felt his lips perking up to form a smile, he looked away, before adding "So you were the one that weird voice was referencing..."
