The Story Begins
I was eight years old when I lost both my parents and found myself living on the streets. In some ways I resent that part of my life beyond believe stealing and begging just so I could survive but if it hadn't been for those events of my life I never would of meet him the man who changed my life. On the 23rd of October 2003 it was a cold winter night on the streets of Tokyo city and I walked these cold streets alone it was late and the city was near empty when I began to hear a strange sound slowly I followed the noise that peaked my interested until I arrived at a large open court area. On arriving at the court yard the events I witnessed on that night even now they seem so unreal to me it was almost like a live action movie being played right before my eyes the only difference is every last part of this was real. Before me stood two men clashing blades as I watched both men I couldn't help but watch in complete amazement the strength of the two men seemed to be endless and completely over powering to me I watching as the ground beneath their feet shattered as their blades made contact it was then that one of the men noticed my existence my eyes narrowed as the two men stopped fighting and looked towards me how both men reacted next the memories shall forever remain in my mind as a vivid image every movement and every word it was in those next few moments my future was decided.
One of the men looked to me and then pointed his sword I gulped slightly
“Huh poor kid as if your life wasn't pathetic enough already now you have to die just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time”
I stared at the man in complete fear as he suddenly lunged towards me the second man stared for a moment in shock to my presence but then suddenly and without warning he also launched forward the second man then smashed into the side of the first knocking him off his path and into a nearby wall the second man stood in front of me like a shield the first man pulled away from the wall and pointed his sword towards the second.
“You mean to protect that child even when you know the laws of our world”
“Even if it is a law of our world I shall not let a child die let any who wish to judge me for this come at me blade in hand no matter what I shall not let a child be killed because of some old laws”
The men glared at each other the first then pointed towards the second
“By making this choice you are sealing your own fate you may save the child by teaching him but either way you have just forfeited your own life”
“If it’s to save the life of a child I care not for my own life let it be taken as long as the boy can live”
“Huh if that is what you believe”
A strange gust of wind carrying a cloud of dust then blew through the area as it did the first man disappeared as the cloud of dust blew past him the second man then turned and looked to me I stared at him in complete shock and amazement as I saw the smile on his face
the man who stood before me was the man who changed my life Joe Mahon. On that night the look Joe gave me was one of happiness and relief. I couldn't help but respond with the same sort of look on my face Joe knelled down before me till he was at the same height level as me.
“So little man who might you be”
I stared at Joe slightly hesitant at first but then slowly I answered
“Tr… Tristan s… sir”
Joe looked at me with a smile as he placed his hand on my head and ruffled my hair
“Looks like you’re going through a bit of a rough patch in your life huh Tristan how about you come with me let’s get you something to eat and go somewhere warm”
Joe then took off his jacket and wrapped it around me the warm feeling of that jacket since the day I lost my parents I had never felt such warmth Joe then extended his hand to me
“So Tristan shall we go”
I looked to Joe and then nodded as I took his hand the two of us then began to walk away from the open and empty court yard together.
On that night I had my life saved and I also found my new home and teacher not long after that night Joe adopted me taking me into his home as if I was his own flesh and blood. That was nine years ago and since that time so much has happened and so much more is yet to happen.
My name is Tristan Mahon I am the son of Joe Mahon and this is my story.
Chapter 1
Fight till the End
Five years after the night I saved Tristan from his harsh life of living on the streets he finally came for me. My name is Joe Mahon and this is how my story ends.
Two men stood face to face atop the roof of a skyscraper below them was the city of New York the lights of the city
radiating the streets below but upon the roof top stood only floor lights only slightly illuminating the roof. Both men stood opposite one another as they held there blades in their hands circling the roof top slowly.
“Tell me Joe all those years ago was it really worth saving that boy because of that act of charity you’ll now die here.”
“Huh I have no regrets towards that night what I did back then I’d happily do again without a second thought saving Tristan that night was the best thing I could of done for both our sakes. I gave that boy a new life and in return he gave me a new life as well.”
“You say that but now here you stand finally your trail to be held. The verdict already set the verdict will now be called. You shall die here atop this roof top Joe Mahon your blood will paint the floor below our feet red.”
“Call your verdicts all you wish Rogue Sinclair but no matter how many times you call it I shall not go down without a fight”
Joe stared towards Rogue his eyes certain his grip on his blade strong. Swiftly Joe positioned himself in a fighting stance.
“Huh so much certainty but sorry Joe I’m different to five years ago we may have been equally matched back then but in the five years you've been playing daddy I've been training and growing stronger just for this day I've long since surpassed you in strength.”
“Talk is cheap Rogue let’s see if you can back up that claim”
Joe and Rogue then ran right at each other both had draw their swords back ready to strike as the two then began to reach the center of the roof they both swung their blades across. As the two then clashed the two stood locked in combat at the very center of the roof. The
ground beneath their feet crack from the sheer intensity of their blades clashing.
“Huh no denying you've definitely grown stronger Rogue.”
“Seems you haven’t been slacking off the last five years either.”
“I've had Tristan to keep me in shape.”
“Huh I see so you did teach the boy our way of life.”
“Ya what of it.”
“Owe nothing of it at all I was just wondering so I could know if when I went to kill him after dealing with you if I’d have any fun or not.”
Joe looked at Rogue and glared as he pushed him back away from him.
“Rogue don’t you dare ever threaten that boy in front of me.”
Joe slowly raised his left hand and as he did began to speak in a strange and unknown language. Rogue stared as what looked like a magic circle appeared in front of Joe’s hand. Slowly Joe pulled back his left hand and made a fist as if preparing to punch someone. Suddenly his fist then launched forward and made contact with the magic circle.
“pléasctha na tine!”
The magic circle before Joe’s fist was glowing brightly for a moment until five large five based objects were ejected from it and fired towards Rogue. Rogue stared at Joe’s magic unimpressed.
“Is that really all you have Joe how pathetic”
Rogue stared at the five objects firing towards him as he moved his sword into a back hand position. As the objects drew close Rogue closed his eyes as he then swung his blade across making contact with all five objects as Rogues sword and Joe's magic collided a large explosion occurred upon the roof top the floor beneath the two men’s feet cracked and shattered as they dropped to the floor below. Dust filled the room the two men now found themselves in. As the dust began to clear the sound of clashing metal could be heard echoing through the air a loud smashing noise was then heard along with a loud cough as the dust then finally cleared. Both men were now visible once again but Rogue now had Joe pinned up against a wall. Rogue looked at Joe an evil and cruel smirk on Rogue’s face as blood dripped from Joe’s mouth. Joe glared at Rogue as he looked up to him breathing heavily.
“That power just now how?”
“What’s the point in telling a dead man?”
“Son of a…”
Rogue suddenly pulled a number of small knifes out of his pocket and as he did he took four of them. Joe’s eyes widened from shock as Rogue stabbed both his hands with one knife each pinning him to the wall blood dripped from Joe’s hands as he cringed in pain.
“So Joe how’s that feel nice and comfy right?”
“Go to hell!”
Rogue moved close to Joe’s face Joe stared back at Rogue seeing his eyes were now like that of a demons
“You first”
Rogue rubbed one of his two remaining knifes along Joe’s face before he then moved away. As Rogue moved away Joe smirked. He looked to the two knifes pinning him to the wall as they quickly began to melt into their liquid form. As fast as he possible could Joe
then pulled himself from the wall as he then launched forward towards Rogue slowly Rogue turned his eyes narrowed as he saw Joe free.
“Shit!”
Joe swung his right arm to his side and as he did his sword that lay on the ground opposite him instantly flew into his hand. Swiftly Joe moved the sword towards his side as he readied to strike at Rogue. Joe roared out as he swung his sword across Rogue’s chest.
“Strike of the Lion!”
Rogue yelled out in pain as blood shot from his chest because of the large slash mark now running across his body. Quickly Rogue regained his balance after Joe’s strike but once he had he fell to his knees. Joe stood over Rogue blood dripping from his hands and mouth Joe then looked to Rogue and pointed his sword right at him.
“It’s over Rogue you lose”
“Huh, huh, huh why is it why is it you can never…”
Suddenly and without warning Rogue launched towards Joe with tremendous speed and force. Joe’s eyes narrowed as Rogue then rammed right into him Joe’s sword flew out of his hand from the force of the impact. Rogue with incredible force then smashed Joe into the wall behind him Joe cough blood from the intense force of the impact Rogue looked at Joe breathing heavily.
“Why is it you can never just die you always get back up why, why is that?”
Joe slowly looked up as blood began to run down his face slowly Joe looked towards Rogue.
“Why do I fight? Huh in the past it was just so I could stop you Rogue but now it’s for a much greater reason. Now it because I have people I wish to protect.”
Rogue looked to Joe not believe a single word he was saying
“You fight to protector others huh; huh what kind of bullshit is that?”
“No bullshit everything I say I mean with all my heart.”
Rogue looked at Joe for a moment and then looked away as he picked Joe’s sword up off the ground. Slowly Rogue limped towards Joe carrying his sword. Upon reaching Joe Rogue looked at him.
“Your heart huh?”
Rogue suddenly pulled Joe’s sword back and then quickly forced it forward. Joe's eyes narrowed as the sword then pierced through his heart Joe coughed out as blood spat from his mouth Rogue looked at Joe and laughed.
“What heart you have no heart!”
Joe looked at Rogue as turned away from him and began to walk away. He then looked to the sword in his chest slowly Joe raised his right hand as he reached for the hilt of the blade and pulled it from his chest. Once the blade was removed Joe threw it aside and
slowly he began to move towards Rogue. Rogue turned and looked to Joe as blood poured out from his chest.
“Even now you’re still stubborn enough to move its over Joe you lose here you finally get to die it’s just like I told you when this fight began your blood will paint this floor red”
Slowly Joe shakily moved towards Rogue.
“Maybe so Rogue but know this much…”
Rogue glared at Joe. Rogue then launched forwards and grabbed Joe by the neck as he did Joe looked down at Rogue his eyes unwavering as Rogue smashed him against the wall once again pinning him there.
“Know what? Know what you fool?”
Joe’s speech began to slow as he spoke
“I may die here Rogue and you will live on but remember this there still lives someone who will someday find you and stop you for good”
“The boy? Huh I’ll just kill him once I've recovered from this fight”
“Huh that’s right once you recover.”
Rogue stared at Joe for a moment confused by his words. Joe's body slowly began to emit a strange light as it did Rogue’s eyes narrowed.
“You didn't? You wouldn't?”
“I’m dying here either way Rogue if I can keep you at bay longer all the better.”
Rogues eyes narrowed as the light from Joe began to grow brighter Rogue gulped
“Self destruct magic!”
Quickly Rogue released his grip on Joe but as he did Joe spoke
“bás lasracha!”
The light from Joe suddenly stopped as it did Joe spoke his final words
“Tristan I leave the rest to you my son.”
Suddenly the light from Joe began again Rogue looked back for a moment as he attempted to escape from the building but it was too late. A huge explosion then engulfed the building people in the streets below watched in horror and ran as the tall building began to collapse to the ground from the force of the blast above dust began to blast through the streets as people ran for safety. The date was the 14th of September 2008 on that day a great man died trying to protect those he cared for. That man I considered him to be my father the man who took me in and raised me on a whim and out of charity. I shall never forget how much I owe this man he may be gone but in my own way I will seek a way to repay my debt to him I’m not shore how or when but someday I will repay him for all his kindness.
