Let me take a quick look at it.

Sitting calmly at the computer before him, a man, with jet black hair, wearing a long sleeved shrit, and a pair of faded jeans began to type slowly, and as he typed, he spoke to himself, "I am leaving behind all evidence that I have gathered concerning the Kira Investigation. So thus, this is to be my final achievement. The date is December 16, 2002. And Kira has been on the move for almost 2 years."

He stopped typing and spun around in his swival chair, his coal colored eyes surveyed the small computer room in which he sat. The black bags under his eyes were forever etched onto his face.

Spinning back around, he sighed and sadly began to think.

"Two years! Two years that this evil bastard has been on the loose! Giving false hope to those who believe in him! Spreading evil across the globe! If only people would stop to think that Kira is not justice!

Killing people has never been considered as a justified act! No! To kill is to be a murderer!

Kira is evil! And I am true justice!

I will bring Kira down, and I will make everyone see that what he's doing is wrong! They will finally see the light.

And if I die in the process of bringing Kira down, well then atleast I can die knowing that I did try to do something about it!"

In the background a boy of 11 placed puzzle pieces together one after another with one hand... and with his other hand, take a strand of his albino hair, and TWIRL IT!!! On the puzzle he did, was simply the letters 'L' 'M' and 'N'. Once completed, the boy took the puzzle, flipped it over and started again.

"We have made much progress L... considering we have pinpointed Kira's location to the Kanto region of Japan... but of course we have to keep our heads straight and not get full of ourselves... this task is far from over. We don't want Kira to win the game." Near said as he clicked the puzzle pieces together again.

"So... what is our next move?"

At first, L simply listened, his mind truly preoccupied with the sucker he held with the tips of his thumb and index finger.

After Near had finished speaking, and the the sucker in in mouth, L began to voice their next move.

"Well seeing as we already know that Kira is undoubtedly in the Kanto region, and we also know that he has access to non-public files, that contain information on criminals, we must first contact the NCPO, and see what we find there. If all ends well, we'll find Kira within the next week.....Perhaps even sooner."

[Repliku]

"Okay..." Near replied as he finished the puzzle. He then turned it upside down so the 'M' now became a 'W'. "So, we shall send Watari?"

He began to scratch the back of his head, "Hmmm....Yes, send Watari ahead to the NCPO. Tell him to pass the message on to the Chief of Police that I need to have a word with them."

[Repliku]

Near picked up a cell phone that lay nearby. He flipped it open and the die ornament jingled as he speed-dialed Watari.

"... yes, Watari, it is N.... we are fine, but we have a favor to ask.... yes, if you could, go to the NCPO's Cheif of Police and try to arrange a meeting for us with the department working on the Kira case... that is all. Thank you."

Near hung up and said, "It is finished..." and he yanked the die off the chain and rolled them, and watched them roll around until they landed on a '4' and '3'. "Heh, seems we out number Kira... 7 days it is."

Not so much a spoiler, but rather an explanation to my latest symbol, the roll of the die, and Near saying Kira's out numbered. In this version of Death Note, the teams are as follows:

Kira's Team: Light, Misa and Mikami
L's Team: L, Near, Mello and Matt

The sum total of 7 obviously represents the time L and Near want to get the case solved, 7 days.

3 days later


"Oh, you need to speak with Chief Yagami? I'm sorry but he's very busy at the momeny....Can I have you come back at another time?" A young man, with short black hair said nervously as he stood before the towering man in the trench coat and the bowler hat.

[Repliku]

"I assure you this is a matter of utmost importance. The great detective 'L' wishes to speak with the department about the Kira case. He wants to have this case solved within the next 4 days." The old man spoke with a calm tone, but the urgency in his voice could still be heard. "Please let me see the Cheif," he continued as he laid a breifcase on the desk.

Matsuda jumped slightly as the briefcase made a thud as it hit the surface of the desk. "Uuuh....." His stammering meant that his mind was a complete mess. "Uuuh....I'll see what I can do....Wait here please...."

He turned around quickly and sprinted down the hall, where he entered a room with a sign on the door that read "Sochiro Yagami".

In the room was a man who was looking over several files with a younger college student. The older man rubbed his forehead as he looked and the boy looked at them calmly and scanned the pages carefully, in deep thought. They both looked up when Matsuda entered the room.

"What is it Matsuda, I told not to bother me unless you had a breakthrough!" Sochiro nearly half shouted.

"Don't make such a big fuss dad... you work yourself up too much." The college boy stated calmly.

"You're right, Light. I apologize Matsuda, what is it that you want to tell me?" Sochiro said with a much calmer tone.

"Ummm, I'm sorry to disrupt you Mr. Yagami, Light...." Matsuda said, nodding his head slightly in both of their directions, "but there's a man here who's claiming that he knows L, and that L has a matter to discuss with the NCPO....If you want I'll tell him to come back later....."

[Repliku]

"L the world famous detective... made that public announcement a few weeks back and challenged Kira... we could probably use someone like him on the case, because it's obvious we're getting no where." Sochiro stated and taking a stand, "Bring him in."

To the side, Light, in his mind, chuckled devilishly.

Heheheheh.... that detective L finally going to make an appearance. But what he doesn't know is that I have two others at my side... Misa... and Mikami... both with the eyes of the Shinigami. He probably still thinks there's still only one 'Kira'.

"So, do I take you to go and meet the man?" Matsuda questioned calmly.

[Repliku]

"No, bring him to us. And Light, grab a chair for him." Sochiro demanded as he started to put the files together. Light got up calmly and went to another room to get a chair, and was back a minute later with one.
