I mean, they don't think its worth mentioning what happened in COM? I mean, they all knew that Sora was asleep for a year and why, and they don't think to mention it to him at all. Not to mention, Namine could've told Sora what happened, and he couldv'e thanked her too. But she didn't say anything, and he pretty much ignored her in KH2, since he didn't remember her. It was a little dumb that they didn't say anything in my opinion, especially considering they are some of the "serious" characters in KH.

 

Not to mention, from Sora's point of view, HE HIT PUBERTY OUT OF NOWHERE. Even Donald and Goofy noticed how he outgrew his old clothes by a couple sizes at the beginning of KH2.

There wasn't much of a time to sit down and explain things. Plus it would have been complicated to explain without sitting down and explaining it for a while.

Well, in KH2FM, just before you fight the second armored Xemnas, Sora mentions how he forgot to thank Namine.  Of course, this hardly addresses the issue you're mentioning, but it is a good point nonetheless.

Yeah, but i mean, it is extremely important to the series. It introduced the threat of Org. XIII and the concept of Nobodies. And its the reason that Roxas had to eventually rejoin Sora. Heck, SORA BEING ASLEEP IS THE REASON RIKU BECAME SEPLIKU!!!(Still a stupid ass name) If this was a Final Fantasy game, the characters DEFINITELY would've mentioned to Sora about what happened, and why he HIT PUBERTY OUT OF NOWHERE.

Well, there could've been a moment before Sora, Riku and the King went off to fight Xemnas, where Sora could've reflected over the previous events, and Riku and Mickey explained what happened, and why Roxas had to rejoin Sora. I think even now, after DDD, SORA STILL DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN ANSEM'S DEFEAT AND THE START OF KH2. Im pretty sure he still believes that he just defeated Ansem, got a growth spurt out of nowhere, and became more masculine and immediately went to defeat the organization. I wouldn't be surprised if he believes that defeating Ansem made him hit Puberty considering how Naive he is.

I hope they're going to talk more about that in KH3 or that Sora would at least finally thank Namine. Well, I do believe that Sora will at least thank her since there was that scene with Sora and Namine in 3D when he said that he had to tell her something and I don't think they would have put that scene there if they didn't plan to do something about it...

 

But now that you mentioned it, I think it's strange that even Riku hasn't said a thing. Yeah, sure there hasn't been that much time to do so and he didn't know everythig that happened to Sora in COM but still. If Sora ever finds out that he skipped a year and all, it might be a bit amusing while Riku would be like "Yeah, I knew that but I just didn't feel like telling you..."

Lol not a nice thing to wake up and realise is happening, but if you look at it a particular way when looking at the english dub soras voice breaks in re com at the very beginning, set a couple of minutes presumably afterr that sequence at the end of kh 1, made me nearly wet myself lauging when i thought about it from a literal point of view gotta love sudden istances of puberty

Thats different. Sora is supposed to have his KH1 voice, since COM takes place a day after KH1 ends. Its just because they decided to do a remake WAY TOO LATE, and Sora's voice actor already hit puberty, so they couldn't do anything about that.

Agreed.

I agree that the events of Com are really great and are mostly underrated simply because of the card system, but in my personal opinion, I really liked the combat, as it offered a deeper layer of strategy and it actually had to make you think when it came to one upping your opponent.  And in terms os story, I think Com had an excellent and conspiracy filled story, and it has most of the Organization members we don't see in Kingdom Hearts 2.  The events of Com are of great importance to me, and I think that for people who haven't played this game, they would find everything confusing when it comes to the "Thank Namine" sentence and other key elements.  Thanks for the topic Spider Freak, you did good.

Even we the European don't know what happened. I think Square did that for us. I played CoM but still. 

In DDD was a nice moment for remembering Sora but nop.
