Hello all. This is just a small announcement regarding the forum-- we have upgraded to IP.Board version 3.4.0 (from 3.3.4). So, what does this mean? Well, it comes with some minor new features and bug fixes. Here are some summaries from the IP.Board team themselves:

I haven't actually enabled this one yet, because I wanted to ask you guys first. Do you think we should enable this feature, and for what forums would it be suitable?

the best answer would be useful, but it think it should be done by general consensus rather than the answer chosen by the person who asked the question. The best answer will be selected by by most of the people rather than the person who started the topic.

This is unfortunately not yet offered as an option.

 

Edit: And as you can see, quotes on the forum look funny after the upgrade. I will fix this soon.

I think the "like" system eliminates any real need for a best answer option. If it's that important to the creator of a topic, they can say so in a post.

Best answer, Ehhh well it would help! But maybe you should make like a "Help"/"Question" section as a sub-section under Personal!

I think a best answer option is really only needed for Q&A Forums/Sub-forums; of which there are none on this site. For a "general consensus best answer" (which isn't available anyway), the "Like" system works fine.
