Well this is my theory on YMX if they will not all agree, but must be in some way some Riku (Vessel) from another timeline
where this was allowed to surrender to the darkness and so Xehanort could take over his body, giving rise to YMX, which in BBS reason to reach Terra watches Riku (child) in Destiny islands turn up to YMX and is surprised to see this .

Riku at the end of KH 2 also mentions the same sentence with YMX Sora: "This world is just to small"

Well I think many of these questions will be solved in KH3

Riku turning into old riku and then to YMX was just foreshadowing and showing the similarities between the two. Nomura already confirmed that Terra can't see into the future or the past.

Riku actually says "what a small world," but the point could still be made that they recognized the world as "samall" and sought the outside world. These simmilarities are simply to tie their stories together and contrast their motives as good and evil.

Young master xehanort was already confirmed to be exactly that : Young master xehanort . There arent any mysteries or questions to be solved on this issue .
