Riku deserved it, why?
- He completed his task (7 Keyholes of Sleep)
- He did not receive extra help going back to the Realm of Light (Their Realm)
- He saved Sora
- He was able to acquire the new power they were trying to achieve
- He has true mastery of the Keyblade
- And also his heart
- He was always thinking about the mission (Focused)
- He doesn't let his heart control him, like Sora did
- He has true balance between mind, body and heart
- He did not fall into darkness
- He found a way to lock the darkness in his heart
- And also he really needed to pass, if he didn't pass he would have taken it harder than Sora.

And also he was meant to be the original Keyblade Master between his friends.

i thought half the game was going to be the MoM and the other half in the ROL/ROD

I mean...yeah im not saying he doesnt deserve it because he does. But ive made this point before, there would be no Riku if it werent for Sora, truthfully. Sora risked so much, he turned into a Heartless to save the Princesses, fought his Nobody created from that event. Had to save the world OUT OF NOWHERE!! Dude was just chillin on his island when it was thrust upon him. Then saved Riku man, like i dont see how Yen Sid doesnt acknowledge that, the world as we know it could be in complete Darkness if it werent for Sora. Sure he "fell" into Darkness but Riku gave into it intentionally at first. I think Sora is better than a Master, he doesnt need a title.

I forgot about Days....hmm. Ill have to check Rikus backstory. But who did Sora put in danger, he save alot of people and alot of worlds.

The point is Riku F***ing grew. He learned from his past mistakes. He is a dynamic character.

But Sora on the other hand is a very static character. Without YMX, he is just a character who believes in his heart. YMX gave him so much depth.

That is basically why Sora failed and Riku passed. Sora trusts his heart way too much. He doesn't have control over it. It controls him.

Exactly, there isn't anything to be said about this. Nomura was completely right in failing Sora and passing Riku for the game.

@Spencer Ellis Norman That's how it should have been. If you watched all the scenes, you can tell Sora didn't deserve the title of Master.

I think Riku definitely deserved it. I feel like he has made a concious effort to make up for his mistakes and redeem himself, while learning a lot in the process.
Sora just fell a little short of the mark, but he'll get em next time.

This is a confusing troll from Nomura. First in KH1 Sora was a chosen as a keyblade wielder. But now anyone can be a chosen wielder from a MoM exam O.O and then there is this stuff about a master O.O Isn't Sora the chosen keyblade wielder or was that just a troll?
