So, it's been a while since I haven't made a thread here.

A friend of mine's about to start his classes for the driver's license, and I want to find out everything about it before I start the classes in October.

So anyone has a car here? If so, was it hard to get the driver's license?

I drive and have my own vehicle..I dont think its hard at all .You will be fine .

Depends on where you are at. My license is in Utah but for half of the year I live in Rexburg idaho and the other half I live in suburb LA. The only reason I can keep my license in Utah is because my parents live there and everywhere you drive there are different laws. as far as getting a license I would start driving around with your parents in an empty parking lot so you can get used to how a car feels and there is less risk of you hitting another car. The classes I took really weren't bad but at times it did push you a little bit. Practice makes perfect so I recommend getting your permit early and then start practicing driving.

I know a person that during the exam, he missed a STOP sign while parking, and thus he failed.

Since I tend to forget things a lot, I'm a bit concerned about it.

Thats bc the smallest mistake isnt small when you are driving .You can kill yourself or others . Just be mindful of everything around you and it'll be fine.The best driver is a one who observes all the other drivers around them as well. You can be the best driver ever but that doesnt mean other drivers around you are . So just always be aware .XD

I agree with Axel Lea Lives on. The first time I took my drivers test I was overconfident so I would advise not matter how many people say you wont have trouble always be aware. The thing that got me was parrallel parking at the end of the test I had came to close to the car and was trying to back up to fix myself to make space and she stopped the car and told me I failed because of it. She didnt tell me why I failed before she slammed the door on my face. The next time around I had a very nice husky man who passed me even though I made some mistakes. From what you said the "classes" is drivers ed although it could be different in a different state. Drivers ed is a class that tells us the rules of the road. They arent very interesting but on your permit test you will have similar questions the questions from drivers ed. Good luck

I'm really worried about learning to drive. I'm just somebody who always thinks of the worst case scenario when I do anything, so I can't help thinking about killing someone or myself when I finally get behind the wheel.

im getting ready to do my theory test to get my drivers so far the book dont seem to bad to me with the questions alot of them seem like common sense

my test was pretty easy. i've had my license for over a year and a half and haven't been in a wreck, yet. but, that's because i'm cautious and i know that at any moment that could happen. for my test, they just had me drive down the road, do a 3-point turn, come back and park at the DMV. the lady told me that i was a lot better than most of the teenagers that come in and take their test. the test will be different, though, based on where you live and who instructs you.

Heres the point system they use when taking the drivers test:

Hitting the curb: -5 pts
Driving up the curve during parallel parking: 5 pts
Driving on oncoming traffic: -10 pts
Using the middle turning lane as a lane: 10 pts
Splashing a pedestrian: 10 pts
Getting honked at / receiving the bird: -10 pts
Giving the bird: 15 pts
U-turn: 10 pts (only if it doesnt disrupt the flow of traffic)
Leaving your blinker on: -10 pts
Turning your blinker on in the middle of turning: 10 pts
Hitting:
debris: 5 pts
pedestrian: 15 pts
dog/cat: -20 pts
squirrel/possum: 20 pts
children: -20 pts
elderly: 25 pts
pedestrian in a wheelchair: 50 pts if the car receives no damage; -50 pts if it does (also known as an epic fail)

It depends on how nervous u r too. For me, I was super nervous and it took me three times to pass the test. T_T

It's not a hard test, but don't be nervous about it. If the lady I had to take my test with chose so, I would not be driving due to my once careful nature.

have some realistic driving games (NFS) and it's easy (for me)
