Kingdomhearts sieres doesn't show "love" so I don't think they "love" each other they are just friends.
Besides Kairi is a princess she has to be falling in love with a prince. Sora is not a prince.

Well it's just heavily implied throughout the series. And Kairi is a Princess of Heart that doesn't necessarily make her royalty and even if she was she doesn't have to go for a prince after all Jasmine fell for Aladdin. Anyway my theory is based solely one the way he moved so It's not very strong to begin with.

Aladdin is actually a prince because of his father(if you seen the all the movies), But anyways their love(Sora and Kairi) doesn't show.

I honestly like Xion more than Kairi, but not with Sora...That would just be creepy. But I think the reason why people don't like Kairi too much(especially if she were to be with Sora) is because of her lack of character development. Sure you get a feel for her character, but she doesn't really change at all throughout the series and she's kinda boring when you get down to it.
