I all of the sudden wanted to type a post about this! aoithu9we3g8w73t DANG IT SE & DISNEY,WHY COULDN'T IT BE A ROMANTIC ONE INSTEAD OF A VERY FRIENDLY RELATIONSHIP! I mean really,their just teasing you!!!! Its like 99% friendly,and the other 1% romantic! I just would have LOVED to see a romantic relationship between them! But nooooo they just HAD to tease you with the two scenes that come to the top of my head,the one where Sora turns back from a heartless back to human via Kairi in KH 1,and in KH 2 when they get reunited in the World That Never Was! And yes,those two scenes make up that 1%.I just REALLY hope they make it a romanic relationship in KH III,it can be 80% friendly and 20% romantic I don't CARE,at LEAST 10% romantic! OR EVEN A TEASE WOULD BE FINE!!!!!! ANYWAYS,we can only hope it will be a more romantic relationship in KH III!

who doesn't, it's a dead give away in kh1 when you see the picture of Sora handing a Paupu fruit to the picture of Kairi, and Kairi doing the same, drawing her picture giving a Paupu fruit to Sora's picture, and i also hope that their relationship will turn into somethin more romantic in kh3....they tease it throughout the series that they 'like' each other.

I just think in general Kairi's character lacks development. Namine and Xion have been more involved in the plot and more developed than Kairi. I don't really care about the romance in this game, but I would like them to treat her character as more than just a pretty girl for Sora to be friends with.

He thought either something bad happened to Riku or he was dead bc of Roxas stating he defeated a Riku once.He knew Kairi was alive but he didnt know about Riku. If you found your best friend alive after not knowing his fate you would probably react the same

I still say they're together in the games, but they just don't tell the fans. LOL. Lines like these (and other things) make the pairing so obvious:

"Kairi, I know you. You're that girl he likes."-Roxas.

"We never met. I was never Sora's friend."-Naminé "And you were never anything more, either."-Sora (keep in mind he pretty much thought Naminé was Kairi in CoM).

"Is she that important to you?"-Saïx. "Yeah, more than anything."-Sora

"I'll take you to see Sora. You don't want that?"-Saïx "I do. More than anything."-Kairi

"Think Sora. Just one more time about who's most special to you."-Naminé.

"To Sora, she's someone very special."-Riku

I could go on and on (and have in the past), but I won't this time. Honestly, it's the only pairing in the game that can be argued as canon. I really think it's Nomura's lack of interest in pairings (and him not wanting to discourage people that like other pairings) that makes it unofficial.

I will forever view them as a couple or in love, however. And I really hope we see their relationship progress one day. It would make them seem more realistic. They are teenagers, after all.

Edit: And I have to say the scene that always sold it the most for me is when Sora pretty much kills himself to bring Kairi back to life. And then when he sees her awaken, he offers her one last smile before he fades away.

imagine kairi being out of kingdom hearts completely, the entire series is just sora rescuing riku and other princesses constantly. and yes, imsujesting major yaoiness in kingdom hearts DEAL WITH IT

They grew up together from the time they were little. That doesnt mean they are gay.They are like brothers if anything.Plus, there are several times in the games where Sora looks sad seeing romantic pairings and thinks of Kairi.. Even Donald says' i bet i know who you are thinking of"
