Maybe before she leaves Destiny islands to go on her own journey she could have little boss fights like every other kh game.
And maybe Aqua could be her Master for training like Eraqus was to TAV.
On a seperate note does anyone remember the BbS FM secret episode?
kairi was at the Twilight Town mansion with Hayner Pence and Olette?
Maybe she'l start her playable character journey there.

But I really think that Kairi is best at providing support for Sora and Riku.

Don't different teams make the games?ehhhh, aqua is stuck in the realm of darkness and kairi can't summon the keyblade on her own. plus if that did happen, wouldn't that mean a whole new side story=whole new game in development= loonger wait for KH3?? in that case, no

Oh, it will happen eventually. I just don't think the time is quite ripe yet. I could see having some time being Kairi in like an opening of KH3 or something, I don't know. It depends on how they're going to do games from now on. Nomura's said that numbered games star Sora, but at the same time, more and more main characters are being gathered, and it seems like they're all going to be coming together one way or another in KH3. In the past, the other characters have simply played minor, back-seat roles to be further discovered later. We'll just have to see if this is how the series is going to continue, or if KH3 is the first major game to feature multiple main characters.
didn't bbs have multiple main characters? (aqua, ven, terra)

I was disappointed when she wasn't playable in KH2 when she got her Keyblade and started whipping some Heartless tail.

Nope.
kh3 ends Xehanort's saga but not the series.
I'm kinda disappointed that Kairi's been put on the backburner for the past few games. I thought she, Sora, and Riku were supposed to be a trio, but now it seems like those two are getting all the screentime and she's just sittin' on the Destiny Islands doin' nothin'. :/ I'm hoping she has a more significant role in KH3 - perhaps if Aqua is saved at the end of KH3D, she could bond with Kairi, maybe like a older-younger-sisterly thing and teach her a thing or two about whoopin' arse - but that all depends on what Nomura wants to do.
i totally agree.

It wasn't really a numbered one though, and it was on a handheld console rather than a main console (ie playstation 2 or 3). And BBS...had some flaws as far as plot goes in my opinion. Not that I didn't love it, but still. I see the biggest thing Kairi getting may be small parts where you play as her during a boss battle or something, like RIku at teh end of KH2. So far, they've found reasons for other characters to not be involved, I'm not sure how much longer that can continue.didn't bbs have multiple main characters? (aqua, ven, terra)

It also seems out of character to me that she'd stay behind. In KH2 she was like, "I'm sick of being left behind. From now on, wherever one of us goes the other follows." She obviously wants to help, so I don't see why she doesn't. And, honestly, I think Nomura may have her fight in whatever BbSV2 is. I hope.
It just bothers me that she's supposed to be the main girl, but everyone else is so much more important than her. And they also seem to be pretending things that happened with her occured with other people. Like how Riku tells Quasi that Sora saw the real him. Umm... it was Kairi that realized it was Riku and not Xehanort's Heartless in TWTNW. Kairi doesn't get enough credit.
Her being a playable character would make things more even. Really it's ridiculous that everyone else has been playable and more credited than her. If nothing else, put her in the game more and give her some character development.
And you know what I don't get? Fans complains that she's useless and yet, when someone voices making her a playable character (as to make her better), they protest that, too. I really wish people would make more sense, and be more reasonable about Kairi.
Anyway...

I agree completely.YES! Oh my gosh, that's the thing that bothers me the most about Kingdom Hearts. Especially the games as of late. Like J. Severe said, they're supposed to be a trio. Not a duo. I highly believe Kairi is meant to be Aqua's successor (like Riku's Terra's and Sora's Ven's), but she needs to get some screen time soon. She's falling into the background more and more which is sad. She was so cool at first, and now she's a rather flat character.
