His reason is pretty much 'Unknown' But I think it will be something like preventing Riku and Sora from completing the Mark of Mastery. He is pretty much the villain!

Im sometimes thinking that Nomura wants us thinking that the unknown is a villain & he acts as a villain towards Sora & Riku, then completely out of nowhere he's actually reveled to be one of the good guys. we'er just 24 days from having our answer, unless you plan on waiting for the English version then you've got a few more months. I bet a lot of us myself included are gonna have a very hard time waiting for the english version & might end up spoiling ourselves.

Yen sid DID say that there will be more than 1 forms of MX returning, so maybe unkown is young master xehanort and he has the ability to time travel since it is in his description in KH BBS

the unknowns porpose? well its the same as last time. : the x-blade to unlock kingdom hearts and turn into something greater then a human and make his own world where light and dark exist with a balence. Thats all
