Though he’s a member of Organization XIII, Axel is shown in the end of Re:Coded in the memories of “pain”…

Nomura: Since healing the necessary “pain” of Axel’s is different than with other people, if he is revived he will take a form like Xehanort’s. In the end of the story, Namine says, “Those whose memories are sleeping inside Sora need relief.” In the Birth by Sleep secret cutscene “Blank Points”, certain characters call out to Sora, however in that scene Axel is the only one who appears and doesn’t say Sora’s name out loud.

I wonder how Axel's pain is different....it involves Roxas, maybe? Also, in "Blank Points", I did notice Axel never said Sora's name.....

I thought it involved Saix since that friendship is a pain that Sora can't really fix

He doesn't need to be saved by Sora. He has been revived because of the death of his Heartless and Nobody. Instead, I think his pain is in wanting his friends back. He has lost Roxas (and Xion, even if he can't remember her), and even though Saix/Isa is alive, it would be very difficult for them to become friends again after what happened.

Lea and Isa were the best of friends.
When they became Nobodies, they began plotting... something. It's not confirmed yet, but I expect it to be an overthrow of the Organization XIII.
Saix, unfeelingly, began to take second in command of the Organization. He was cold and narrowminded.
Axel, because of Lea's more outgoing personality, befriended Roxas and Xion and was upset by Saix's coldness.
Axel realized that his and Saix's goals weren't the same anymore and began to help his new and real friends (R+X).
Because this was a problem with Saix's plan, him and Axel had a falling out because Saix valued goals and Axel valued friendship.

Some assume that when Lea and Isa awaken that they will still be bitter.

I really felt sorry for Axel cuz he had to keep all these secrets and lie to Xion and Roxas cuz he didnt wanna hurt them and they just kept asking and he had to watch their friendship fall apart :'(

and then he gets 'WINNER' by Roxas when he lost everything he kept dear T^T

Yes, I heard that he was originally going to be killed off at the end of the Roxas tutorial, but all the staff loved him so much that they delayed his death.

Yes thats true but he was originally gonna be killed off in CoM but was extended..Then Kh2 came and he was extended for the second time and given a meatier role and more character developement..I personally believe the only reason they finally let him die was bc they could redeem him and bring him back a good guy permanently at the same time .
